i miss her long posts .they were so full of passion .
Actually kools there are a lot of reasons for my less posts nowadays- have been caught up in a lot more than I can chew- festival khatam hua nahi ki magazine committee ka kaam shuru, plus studies are taking a toll too. Have had some serious personal problems too coz of which I could not give time to the forum as I was depressed and trying to handle myself and others as well.
The serial is too disgusting for me too digest. And as you all know, and as I had said in yesterday's commentary too... Manav is not the same for me anymore. Earlier he was the sort of husband any girl would like to have.. Bappa's gift to Archana for her devotion and goodness... now I think- is he a boon? What sort of husband is he... couldn't protect his wife from abuses saying I'm helpless. I tried my best to analyse this character, give him benefit of doubt, think from his point of view, understand his circumstances, but the day they showed Archana sitting outside the house and all of them sleeping inside, it was the limit. He is exactly what Kools calls him- a Lallu....
He is defending her now... but now its of no use. The charm has gone. He IS NOT the best husband for a girl, if he cannot protect her. He has to do something very very big to win back my interest in the character and the story. Without Manav, PR is over for me.
Now when I look back at the story, I think the creatives made such a mess of this character, sacrificed him for TRP's sake. They just wanted to show Archu getting abused... so they made Savita abuse her, and Manav standing helplessly. Helpless my foot! If they so wanted Archu's abuse, then they could have shown that Manav tells Savita that stay away and don't talk to Archu for 3 months at all... I don't want more tamashas. We could have seen that when Manav goes to the garage, Savita troubles Archu behind his back- abuses her, burns her books, doesn't keep food for her etc etc. Archu weeps as usual, and then hubby dearest comes to know, blasts his Mom, gets new books, cooks food for her (so she can study at night peacefully) and then says I'm doing it for insaaniyat sake😆 anyhow for 3 months u are my responsibility. That would have got TRP's and protected the credibility of Manav's character.
But NO! After a point Ekta isn't satisfied until her lead heroine gets the more mahaan status- so we have Archana suffering abuse, and yet doing everything for her husband. Her husband on the other hand is 'helpless' but still Archana says 'your dukh is my dukh'.
You hate chauvinism don't you kools? You had once said that in each serial it is only the men who get married twice, break social and ethical rules, etc etc. Well, see Ekta's reverse chauvinism- to make the heroine more mahaan, she will sacrifice the hero. Always. It happened in every serial- with Mihir, with Sujal, with Angad- everyone. Ironically, it was always the male characters who were better scripted in the beginning, more realistic and lovable- be it Mihir, Sujal, Angad or Manav. The audience loved them and watched the serials for them. All of them were landmarks in television industry. And all of them were sacrificed.
