I hate discrimination. Simply hate it whether its on basis of sex, caste, creed, race, country, religion, states etc etc etc. In this whole world we have 7 continents where there are different countries with each country having different states and different culture. And guess what we have got discrimination on every basis whether continent or country or race or religion or colour. I was disheartened to know that on am average more than 4 Lakhs girls are killed in India itself before born or just after taking birth. I felt really bad. This is where i think Education is must.. Being educated does not mean you have to be doctor or engineer, but social knowledge, mental growth, proper understanding, being rational and practical.

Ali your thoughts r very mature for ur age . Keep them up !
Me too , i detest discrimination ...........cannot bear it . Just like u , on any issue I cannot stand it . Gender , race , color , sex.........I feel like fighting against it . Who knows I may in future join an NGO
I especially cannot bear Sasuraal abuse issues and how dumbly women take it as they have been advised by moms that this is their role in life .

I am finding that a lot of high school Indian girls wear sarees to functions and with flat shoes.
TB, did you know that tall girls fit very well in this male chauvinist world. I think that because they are tall, they have more confidence and generally they perceive to be competent as well. In the job market, they get to rise up the ladder faster than their shorter counter ones....

I'm not aiming to wear a sari any time soon, but I must say, it is hard to find salwar kameez that fit properly. All of the pieces are always too short. I too end up wearing flat shoes a lot, otherwise I will tower over everyone at 6'something".
I did not know about the second part, that's quite interesting. I guess it does provide more confidence though when you can look someone directly in the eye, or even down at them; it must cause less physical intimidation. Thanks for pointing that out, its really interesting.

Kool, i hate discrimination from deep of my heart and i wanna kill politicians of my country not all though. Every sasural is not bad. Only few are bad. In fact i am going to share very personal thing. My own and only uncle was working in Dubai . He got married few years later and here started heck in his life. After some days he went to dubai back and promised his wife that he will take her back there after 1 year because he needs to get settled properly. His wife could not bear 1 month and started mis feeding him that my grand mother tortures her. I was small at that time but there was nothing at such. The worst was yet to happen when aunt said on phone to my uncle that my grand mother wants up to get divorced. Poor uncle, he left his job and came back to India. He used to love of very much and used to play with me. But now he has gone far away from us because of his wife because she does not want him to keep relation with us or other wise she will kill herself. My uncle does small business, is fed up of his life and my grand parents live with them to support them financially and yet my aunt is highly to respectful towards them. But being a mother she cant live her son in disgrace. If some MIL are evil, some DIL are evil too. And thats why i said that EDUCATION is must. We need to broaden our thinking ahead of all dowry things etc etc etc. At least i was happy with Deshmukhs that in spite of being so financially weak they rejected to take anything. Thats good example to set. Its only that UNEDUCATED , CHEAP savita which is bad. But thats all life all about, struggle and complete struggle.

I haven't been on IF for 2 days and it was like missing some thing but I finally made time for myself to peep here for minutes but reading few posts made me restless and share my thoughts.

I just realized now that here we have amazing mothers, u know I love kids especially from age of 3 to 10 because kids of those age have lots of innocence especially best part during that age is question they ask us and hair which falls on they face when some thing good happens with that innocence smile which charms and takes u out of the world. Actually my parents have three children but as both my parents love daughter very much they are upbringing my niece who is my sweet cute little sister who became orphan when she was just 2 years old but she is best thing happen in our life as we had to fight to get her and my granny was against my parent's wish of up bringing her but my parents finally managed to convince every one. Seeing her brings back my childhood memories and I make her wear all kinds of dress, jewelry which I couldn't wear as I was brought my dad as I had stay with my dad in Muscat with out my mom from 9 years as I flew with him to Muscat when I was just 4 years old as my granny(my dad's mother) suffered was brain tumor, my mom had to stay with her to take of her but my elder sister and bro were enough lucky to stay with my mother but my dad took me with him as I was very attached to him so I'm with even now.

Here all sharing some amazing experience happened so I'm temped to share this it happened when I was in my class 10 and I had board exam going on and I use hate biology because my teacher who use to handle was more interested in teaching us music than Bio which was like nap to me, but I use to manage to get average marks in test but when my board exam came it was like a nightmare to me, to attend my Bio exam which was allotted 35marks,as Science was main core subject was very important for me get good marks if all I had to get into good pre university, so I use to study Bio like crazy for hours and I was not going out with my family for dinner or function in spite of spending so many hours nothing use to go into my head but the few days before my exam I got nervous and was not sleeping because of the fear of getting worst nightmare like me failing in Bio paper, but my dad became an angel to me, as he realized how I'm being fool by chumma spending time in front book and it has been of no useful so he did crazy thing to cheer me up as I love riding vehicle it was 12:30 in the midnight and me studying like crazy he took me away from book ,he gave me vehicle key and told me to take him for long drive and my mother being a typical mother was very furious with my dad that he is taking a teenage girl out at that time for ride but my dad so adamant that he has take me out and he did take me out for half an hour it was my most amazing ride I had in my life!.. Which gave me lots of positive energy and I did my get good marks in my Bio paper for which I woe my dad a lot because if I hadn't come out of that fear it would have affected my marks and my dad understood me and brought me back to normal which makes me to respect and love him a lot. Even today I can share anything with him in fact he asks me whether I found Mr. Right ,when I attend some function and if eyes any good guy he calls me to show if I'm interested in making a move….:)

Hey Ali!
I agree, discrimination is terrible, and many people need to learn that everyone is different and come to accept it. Whether someone is of a different gender, religion, race, or have any special needs, it shouldn't matter, nobody is less than another person.
Speaking of special needs, the other day at school we had a big assembly in the large gymnasium (its called a pep rally, but I'm not sure if everyone knows what that is) for the Special Olympics athletes. Special Olympics is a series of athletic tournaments designed for students with special needs and all of the special needs students from our school participate. So the assembly was held in recognition of them, and each of the athletes were recognized individually. It was so nice to see not only that, but also the fact that not a single student out of the 2400 in the stands was sitting. Everyone was standing, clapping and cheering for them, it was just a great moment, it made me really happy to see how supportive everyone was.
Hey Nisha! Its nice to hear about how supportive your father was, so sweet of him to do that for you!

@nish: yeah. Your dad did right thing because its good to take some time out from your studies. Well, i have not been so fortunate. My parents were not with me when i was 4 till when i was 12 which means for 8 years. Actually my dad got work in Japan and my mom and my very small sister at that time went to japan with my dad. But i could not go because i was in school at that time and most of schols in japan teach in japanese language only. So i lived during that period with my grand parents and i love my grand parents as equal as my parents. They never let me felt that my parents are not with me and Today also i say to my dad that i have got love of 2 dads and 2 moms in my life.
