In all seriousness (no pun intended here) the two can never go together. Comedy by its very nature, deflates/defuses. Lust, on the other hand, heightens/ intensifies. Human self-esteem is a delicate and vulnerable thing. The comic instinct kills lust automatically, since NOTHING is potentially more dangerous to a romantic/sexual situation than the possibility of one or the other

party feeling laughed at.

Of course, that's when the lust and the humour are felt by the same people. It's possible to depict lust humorously from a distance, as I think I sought to do with my parody. I don't know if one can do that with the nobler sentiments while still believing in them. When writing the piece, it was possible for me to envisage Manav as lustful rather than loving, but we all know that the loving part of him is the one we see and like. I don't know if I could write something in which love and humour come together in a lustful situation. Hmm... now that's a challenge. The point also is, though, that it's possible, even logical, to be funny with a failed attempt. But if Manav and Archana really get to have it out - whenever the scriptwriters allow that much-awaited possibility - do we really want it to be a funny scene? Moving, yes, arousing, yes, but funny? I think not.

I agree that both dont go well together at all . And I dont know if a parody like that is possible even . Maybe u can try though .
