Yes , it sucks and it will soon go away from the hearts of viewers although currently its TRP's r high . See what the script writers destroyed ..........
1] Look at the Title song . It tells the story of Pavitra Rishta ........a poor guy falling in love with a girl slightly above his league , and silently expressing it in numerous actions like shielding her from rain , crowds in train etc . The guy is a mechanic , wearing two sets of shirts alternately , the type with a holy amulet around his neck on an open necked cotton , sweaty shirt ...............the amulet flashes on the girl's face too . That was the appeal of Manav's character ...........hard working , shy , allowing himself only one luxury and wish in his entire life of adjustments.............loving a girl slightly not in his league and protecting her tenderly against all odds .
The angry young man persona of Manav sucks as it destroyed that Manav totally . His angry young man persona punishes a girl who is not guilty while the guilty trio.............Manju , Ajit , and Savita go scot free , undetected . The angry young persona of Manav is not in accordance with the title song . That story has been destroyed by the scriptwallahs . Already anger against Manav has started stirring in many viewers hearts . He is still unaware of his mother's role in the whole mess , He has decided to marry another girl , he has brought her home far ahead of its necessity . I am not debating if he is justified in the anger or no here ...........it will open a can of worms in which many will take Manav's side and some will take Archanas side . My only point is ..................the lovable Manav has gone . That appeal has gone . It was one of the good points of Pavitra Rishta . An angry young man is supposed to do justice ........then his anger is worth it . Manav's anger is doing injustice .
2] This whole concept of Manav choosing between responsibility and love sucks as it is chauvinistic in the extreme . I had thought that Pavitra Rishta rose over chauvinism when they showed for the first time a mother like Sulochana who did not turn her daughter away from the door saying now ur married ur not my responsibility ..........but instead deciding to educate her and set her life straight . Why is it that always the man chooses and ' saves ' a woman , why not vice versa ? Would it have been ok if Archana had decided to marry Satish if Varsha was pregnant and died in the pregnancy when this stupid divorce was in its final stages ? I think not ..........Manav fans wud be outraged . So why the hell is it ok for Manav to marry ? The Pavitra Rishta is man ka.........of the heart , right ? Even the divorce cannot erase the real rishta of the heart . Then marraige to another girl is a betrayal of this relation ..........whattttever the circumstances ! Archana told bluntly in a public gathering that she cannot marry Satish as Manav is in her heart and always will be ........and remained true to the rishta of the heart inspite of the divorce going on . Manav should have been shown saying the same thing to Girish and Savita.........that let the divorce be final , and inspite of this poilice case , even if I never will see Archana's face again , I am sorry I cannot marry another woman as I will not be able to give her my heart ever and do a grave injustice to her as every woman desrves better . I am all burned out ..........this heart was given To Archana , it is incapable of accomodating anyone now . Right or wrong this is the fact.............I can only be like a solid rock support To Shravni as a brother through out my life but can never marry any woman . This dialogue wud be true to the title song but we see Manav hurrying quickly to marry Shravni as a ' responsibility '! Why ? Coz males can do this and get away with it while women cannot 'protect' honour of family and do this as their actions abuse their pativrata status ? This reeks of crass chauvinism . Choice is given to a man..........a woman of course wudnt dream of choosing , marrying and getting on with her life . Archana DIDNT . Manav DID .So in effect this means while Manav is being ' responsible ' and marrying a girl to ' save her , Archana , who turned down a perfectly good proposal like Satish , shud now rot as an unmarried girl with undeserved guilt because she has already announced in public that only Manav is in her heart . How unfair can this nonsense be ?
3] The villains go scot free , true to the logo of Hindi serials , as always . Ajit is in Bangkok , in all probability visiting the brothels there [ we all know how infamous Bangkok is for prostitution and the sleazeball Ajit seems to visit brothels and pimps all the time in Mumbai] and having a gala time , Rasika wears silk sarees and is wrecking more lives { Varsha Satish ] , Savita is still visiting Karanjkars to lay fresher guilt trips of Sachin's death on her target Archana . Why shud Savita's villainy in this whole affair will should be blunted coz of Sachins death ? Will Manav ever know that Savita is in a sense responsible partly for them landing in jail as she had a liason with Manju who did that complaint by turning against her once her piurpose was served ? No ! We see Manav saying ..........what diffrence it makes now.............he isnt even interested in knowing those past things any more as far greater things r now his priority . How convenient for Savita ? To top it all , Sachin's death has made her even a more righteous Madonna to go there and lay guilt trips . iF ANY ONE NEEDS A HORRIFIC GUILT TRIP IT IS sAVITA ...........WILL WE EVER GET TO SEE mANAV AND dAMODAR BLASTING HER AND POINTING OUT HOW SHE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR sACHIN'S DEATH DUE TO HER PUBLIC TAMASHAS WHICH mANJU USED TO LAND HER IN jAIL ?Pavitra Rishta sucks as villains r not suffering the slightest bit .
4] Shravani marrying Sachin and teaching Savita seems a far dream now unless Shravani acts spoilt in her pregnancy and orders Savita around . Is it possible ? I think not for Manav will fall over himself tumbling to put slippers in her feet coz she is his dead brother's pregnant wife and will protect her against Savita..........a fact he inadvertently didnt do with Archu . WE wanted to see Manav falling over himself to protect Archana when she got pregnant ..........those moments have been destroyed forever now . Even if Archana does get pregnant in future , his first tenderness of protecting a pregnant woman was with ANOTHER WOMAN ...........Archana loses that place forever for no fault of hers . Even Manav loses that experience . By the time Archu gets pregnant , if at all , he has already burned out again.........its like being a dad for the second time .
So u see , this sick track cheated us of many , many things that had made pavitra Rishta special in the first place . It is a track of vengeance bas ..........in which this time they want to show Archu running after Manav as tit for tat . But in the process they destroyed a lot of characterization and plot . Archu cud have run after Manav after he was proven innocent by the tape too .........and Sachin cud have lived . What they destroyed was the HAPPINESS of the serial .
