Part 3

Mini gasped as the door shut down locking them in a room. She turned around to notice Neil was not at his place, he had moved towards her a few steps and she felt butterflies in her stomach. She looked everywhere but him not knowing what to do. She noticed that the climate which had settled down a while ago again started its game and this time its causing strong winds as if mirroring some kind of inner turmoil or moody nature of climate.

"Neil came closer to Mini and she almost forgot to breathe. It was only when Neil moved passed her and went to open the door, she realized she was holding her breath and let out a sigh. She felt kind of embarrassed at her state. Here she was looking at him without shirt, only in his payjamas and observing everything else in the room instead of trying to open the door to get out as fast as possible.

Mini noticed he too tried to not meet her eyes like he was guilty of something and she caught him red handed. She wondered what caused him this embarrassment.

"I am sorry. I was...just...I think the door is stuck. May be someone could open it from outside." Neil said and this got Mini's attention. She wondered why he apologized, it was not his fault that door got stuck. May be she is thinking too much. This is awkward situation and so is his response.

"I will call Biji and dadu to open it from outside." Mini replied after few seconds wondering how it would hurt dadu's knees if he climbed stairs.

In the meanwhile, Neil finally remembered to grab his shirt and cover his upper torso. Mini's cheek turned pink remembering how she literally ogled at him a while ago. As she was about to call her dadu, the door suddenly opened. They found Neil's guruji, Dr. Satya prakash standing outside.

"Thanks for opening the door. Dont know how it got stuck. I'll take your leave now. Good night." Mini threw a brief look at the old man and went downstairs. She could feel from the look on guruji's face that he didnt like the whole incident.

"Neil, what were you doing? Its not the time to get distracted. Stay focused." Satyaprakash reprimanded Neil and he looked down getting embarrassed again.

"It was just...I didnt do anything purposefully...the door got stuck and..." Neil tried to explain when he suddenly stopped and realized his guruji broke his maun vrat to scold him. It means he is really upset with him. "I am sorry. I'll be careful in future." Neil apologized.

"Its ok. I can understand. You are a young boy and its only natural for you to get distracted. All this training, search has been a lot to deal with but you have to remain focused my boy. Time is coming near. I know he is also planning something. He is not the one to stay quiet. He definitely has some big plans this time. We not only have to find him but also stop him." Guruji reminded Neil and he only nodded in agreement all the while scolding himself for getting distracted with that girl Mini.

"And please, can you be a little calm? The village has seen all kinds of climatic chaos it could have seen in a day. Now please relax or else you'll end up summoning thunder storm.

"I am sorry. Its just that I was skeptical about coming here and there was lots of confusion going on in my head." Neil said as he smiled sheepishly.

Guruji laughed it off. No matter how much he tries to calm Neil down, the boy never stops for a second to think. It was like his mind was never at rest. There was always this restlessness in him and it reflected in the surrounding climate if it not checked and kept in control. After all, he was the master of these five elements, they would only reflect his feelings if he dont bother to keep them in check.

Guruji wished him good night and went in his room. Even though he had brushed it off easily but Neil's reaction around that girl Mini had bothered him. Neil never acted on impulsively around any girl before. He has to keep watch on her.

Neil on the other hand took some deep breaths to relax and it immediately reflected in the environment with everything settling down for good. No strong winds, no drizzling and thunder. Everything as calm as it could be. Neil let out a sigh. He should be more careful with his powers. He should not let things affect his psyche. He went and sat down on the floor to meditate and practice self control.

Mini on the other hand went to bed not understanding what was happening upstairs in Neil's room. Why he was looking at her so intensely and why he apologized. Its not like that he shut that door, it happened because of wind...right? What was so odd, so interestingly odd about him? Why she felt kind of pull towards him. She gave up thinking when fatigue from all day caught up with her and she felt sleepy.

"What do you think? Should we tell Mini about everything, the prophecy, the powers, her role in the great battle of good vs evil." Biji asked from dadu as he came into their bedroom.

"No, she is still so young. I dont think she will understand and how do you know its the right time? There are no signs to tell us that right time has come." dadu argued.

"But didnt panditji tell us that Mini's 21st birthday will change her life forever. I dont want to wait for something bad to happen. We should tell her everything and prepare her in advance." Biji reasoned.

"You are right but when I see her, I find only our cute little grand daughter. I have no heart to tell her that her she is not normal. She has an important role to play in the bigger schemes of things and I dont want to end her normal dreams of growing up, enjoying her life, attending college. Why she was the chosen one?" Dadu asked feeling helpless.

"Dont say it like this. She is a blessing of Goddess Kali not some problem that you are crying over her fate. She is born for great things. She will be the harbinger of new world full of hope, happiness, a ray of light." Biji reminded him a part of prophecy.

"And could also be a weapon of destruction if failed to make a correct choice between good and evil." Dadu added begrudgingly the other part of the prophecy.

"Have some faith in our upbringing and Goddess Kali." Biji assured.

"Ok, fine. I will not think negative but please I dont think she is ready for it. let her enjoy some more carefree days of her life." dadau requested and biji agreed. They didnt know that carefree days soon will be the thing of past and they will be facing the greatest threats of all time in coming days.

Mini got ready next morning for her collage and before that she went upstairs to give breakfast to their new tenants only to find the rooms locked. She came down with food tray and got to know from Biji that both of them went outside early morning and will only return in the evening.

"Ok, I am going for college." Mini let out a sigh in disappointment. But soon become confused as to why she even felt disappointed at first place. Why she wanted to see them...or him particularly. She brushed the thought aside. She didnt want to be late for the college. She grabbed a sandwhich from the kitchen counter and ran away before Biji could have reminded her for taking her assignment file.

"Mini, were where you whole weekend. I kept trying your phone but no signal. Why you even live in that village. move in the city." Preet, Mini's friend started her rant about Mini not liking city life which was way much cooler than boring village life.

"Preet kaure, kabhi to haskar bhi baat kar liya kar hamesha complain hi karti rehti hai." Mini laughed it off like always.

"Oye sun na. Tujhe aaj ki taaza khabar pata hai bada hi hot banda aaya hai college mein." Preet started the gossip.

"Oh please, you and your obsession for handsome guys. Tum ladkiyo ko aur koi kaam nahi hai kya. Thoda sa bhi smart ladka dekha nahi ki chalu ho sab ki sab ladkiya uske aas paas titliyo ki tarah mandrane. Have some self respect." Mini lectured her like always.

"Offo! shuru ho gaya iska lecture subah subah. Arre ek bar dekh to le. I am sure tu dekhegi na to dekhti reh jayegi. Ye koi aisa waisa nahi hai...maal hai ek dum...lakhon mein ek." Jasmeet said dreamily.

"No thanks, tum taado apne maal ko. Mujhe koi interest nahi hai." Mini rolled her eyes at her silly friends.

"Arre chal to sakti hai na hamare sath. Khade rehna waha agar baat nahi karni hai to. Pata hai wo hamare class mein hi hai. His name is Shaswat Singh." Preet informed and dragged Mini to meet him.

As the girls reached their class, Mini noticed new boy already had all the females drooling over him like flies over honey. However, she noticed he was really drool worthy. A handsome man, quite fit physique, dark hair, deep eyes, killer smile, whats there not to like and he seemed to enjoy all the attention that he was getting but Mini didnt had intererst in him. Her mind was occupied by another handsome hunk who also happens to be her tenant now. Mini, hit her head playfully for again thinking about Neil and smiled to herself.

"Hello, myself Shahswat Singh." As Mini looked up she found Shahswat right in front of her. She was caught off guard and didnt react for first few seconds.

"May I know the reason behind your beautiful smile. What were you thinking Miss..." Shahswat asked charmingly.

"Miss Mini...Mini Khurana. My best friend." Preet made introduction.

"She means our best friend." Jasmeet jumped in at the opportunity to talk to the hot boy.

"Hello." Mini replied coming out of her thoughts.

"So what made you smile? Whatever it is. Do that often because your smile is lovely." Shashwat complimented and Mini blushed whispering a coy "thanks" with a small smile but didnt stay long for the further conversation.

As she moved on, Shashwat kept looking at her retreating form with amused smile. And Preet and Jasmeet noticed this. They were excited as the hottest guy of their college took interest in their best friend.
