I think that the bottom line is that trust is a 2 way street. Yes Babita sees Mini through the eyes of a Mother who is worried about her daughter's reputation like any other Mother and we as a Society still have standards to maintain no matter how educated we are and that's good as well.

First of all minnie never thinks highly for ashok as a father like she adores babita. Babita is her world and she expects her love n trust like any other daughter. They showed their bond always beautiful beyond everything. Minnie made her babes always her first priority so whats wrong if she want same. And for romeo thing i think you are living in old era of conservative society where a girl and boy can never be friends.
