I agree, she could probably be the one to stop him drinking. However it’s too early for her to be throwing her weight around challenging him. Not two weeks ago her daughter was threatening to leave now she wants to step in and control his life. This was the only way it was going to play out.

I hate how emotional blackmail is so often shown as an acceptable method of manipulation. She handled this problem as she handles every problem, emotionally, rash, without thought. Has she even bothered asking him WHY he drinks? I don’t even see what the big issue about his drinking is if I’m honest. He drinks like once a week and does not make a nuisance of himself. He’s a perfect gentleman even inebriated. It’s so amazing how much of a bubble she’s been living in all these years that even at her age she is so clueless about life.

Correct. I was hoping someone would post this. It was completely unnecessary that Babita forced him into it. She could have done it on the right time. The entire event was forced.
