Next day at the doctor's clinic.
Doctor: I have conducted the necessary tests. And you both are in excellent condition to have a child Mrs Chopra I am just prescribing you some vitamin pills..
Siddhi (anxiously): How long will it take?
Doctor: That varies from couple to couple. It can take from a few weeks to over a year.. But dont get so nervous about it 😊
Siddhi and Kunal were both very happy and started their efforts with a lot of enthusiasm. A few months later Kunal came home one day to find siddhi super excited.
S: Kunal i was feeling nauseous at work all day and I vomited too..
K: And that makes you happy because??!!
S: Kunal dont u see, I might be pregnant!! I have a pregnancy test waiting for us in the bathroom.. Kunal i am so excited..
Kunal was happy but didnt react as enthusiastically. He wanted to reserve his emotions till after they had checked the results.
The test was negative.. This was their second false alarm..Siddhi started crying..Kunal took her in his arms.
K: ayee.. Ro kyun rahi ho??
S: Kunal its been three months!!! and i am still not pregnant..
K: Siddhi, remember what the doctor said it usually takes 6-8 months.
S: Par.. what if something is wrong.. i didnt want kids earlier.. I made you wait for so long.. now what if something goes wrong..
K: Siddhi!!! bewakoofon wali baaten mat karo.. we have been to the doctor and everything is fine.. Aur aise stupid baatein mat karo.. pata hai tum mujhe papa banne ki acchi training de rahi ho.. khud tum kisi bache se kam nahi ho 😉
S: Kunal par.. we will have a baby na???
K: Of course my darling.. of course we will.. Lots of them 😛
After that siddhi became less anxious about the whole process. She always thanked her stars that she had an understanding and sensible husband like Kunal.
Both Kunal and siddhi were also enjoying their professional lives.Batliwala sir had begun giving siddhi more and more responsiblities and she loves the challenges she had to deal with each day.
Kunal enjoyed the professional freedom that having his own law firm ave him. His firm had growm by leaps and bounds and he had already hired 5 associates to handle the volume of work. He was planning on asking siddhi to join him as a partner soon. She had gained enough experience at Batliwala and associates and his miised having her around at work.
Currently he was fighting a pro-bono case on behalf of Dombivili chawl dwellers against a large real-estate developer who was trying to evict them. It was a high profile case and he had already received threats to back down from the case. He of course paid no heed to the threats..
One evening at home siddhi had just gotten back from work. THere was a call on their landline. she was surprised since very few people had that number. She figured it was kunal
S: Hi kunal.. kaha hai aap?
Unknown person. Madam main kunal nahi unka shubh chintak bol raha hoon. Apne pati ko zinda dekhna chahti hai to usse dombivili case chodne ko kahiye..
S: Hello!!!! kaun bol raha hai??

SIddhi was very scatred. she tried calling kunal but his number was switched off. She got even more scared,
Doorbell
She ran to the door n was thankful to see that it was kunal.
S: KUNal kaha the aap ab tak???? main kitna dar gayee thi. phone bhi switched off tha..
K: darling calm down.. battery discharge ho gayee thi kya hua??
siddhi recounted the threat call she received. Kunal was mad with rage.
K: How dare they??? mujhe call karke dhamkana ek baat thi. Par meri patni ko?? i wont leave them
S: you mean aapko peh;e calls aaye hai??? and you never told me..
K: SIddhi aisa to hota hi hai lawyers ke saath.. or aise cases me to expected hai.
S: Kunal why do you have to fight this case?? y r u putting your life at risk??
K: Siddhi baitho yaha.. remember how we have always said that we will use our legal education to help people. thats exactly what i am doing.. thousands of people might lose their homes because of one seldish company..
S: Kunal i understand but...
K: But kuch nahi.. bhook lagi hai lets have dinner
Siddhi understood his point but she was still worried about him.
A week later
K: Today is the second hearing.. last time to unke chakke chuda diye the.. i'll wrap up this case in a few more hearings...
Siddhi wished him the best of luck. she went to work with a strange efar in her heart.
In the afternoon
Peon: Mam aapko batliwala sir bula rahe hai..
S: sir aapne bulaya??
B: siddhi tumhe City Hospital jana hoga..
S: HOSPITAL PAR KYUN
in response he turned on the TV in his cabin
"Aaj high profile Dombivili Chawl vs Khurana estates case ki second hearing thi,. Hearing shuru hone ke kuch minute pehle prosecution lawyer Kunal Chopra par goli chalayee gayee. Unhe abhi CITY HOSPITAL le jaaya gaya hai"
Siddhi's feet gave way on hearing the news. She was about to collapse when Batliwala sir supported her.
Siddhi: KUNAL!! Nahi .. aisa nahi.. unhe kuch..
B: Siddhi tum hospital jaaon.. Driver le jaao..
Siddhi rushed to the hospital. There was heavy media and police presnce. She was escorted inside.
Dr: Mrs Chopra Kunal is out of surgery. The bullet grazed his right arm. There was blood loss but we were able to bring it under control.

Siddhi ran to the room. She saw kunal lying on the hospital bed. the upper half of his right arm was bandaged. He smiled as she entered.
She ran to him and hugged him..
Kunal: ayee.. kitne par boloo roya mat karo.. zara si chot hai .. mara nahi hoon..
Siddhi looked at him angrily..
S: KUNAL1!!! BAKWAAS BAND KARIYE.. BOLA THA AAPKO MAINE.. BAS AB MAIN KUCH NAHI SUNOONGI.. AAP YEH CASE CHHOD RAHE HAI...
K: You know thats not possible!!!
S: Kunal i love the fact that you want to help people. I do too.. But not at the cost of your life.
K: siddhi i wont stop fighring for thr truth.. even if the price i have to pay is my life...
S: Kunal i dont belive this.. your profession is more important than your life???and us?? have u ever thought what will happen to me.?/ and we are trying to have a baby right?? what do you want?? that u die and i become a widow and our baby an orphan??
K: Nothing like this will happen!!!
S: You know what kunal i just realized. if we can't agree o suc an important issue we shouldnt be having a baby together!!!
K: thts blackmail. You cant do this.. we both want a child so much..
S: Call it what you like. But if you can't prioritize your family, we shouldn't expand it by having a baby togeyher/
