Though,I haven't watched the episode (& you know why 😉 ) yet its good to know that Indian daily soaps (specially Ekta's shows) have finally began to evolve, both in terms of story as well as promoting a social cause.

Lets hope that such a trend is not short lived..& if it happens then I'll switch to Parichay soon!! 😆

Ya yestd episode was an example 2 many families.Im glad parichay is heading in a dif way n wish they sustain it.
SJ is a wonderful prog n the way AK hosts it -none can deny he is actually a perfectionist.Im glad that in a developing country like India wher many of his status r tumbling over IPL he has supportd n brought up such a true realistic show.Im nt his fan but my respect goes 2 him.Even if the show brings a 10% change in India it l b a great success.

Amidst all the dowry deaths & stories of wicked in laws, it's heart warming to witness the story of the Chopras. Like you said, if only there were more such families...

Fari welcome back - how was your vacation.
This one trend was the one of the main reason why i was hooked to this show. Even last time when Raj sided Siddhi - that made me feel so proud for him.
Not sure about the rest of India but i for sure know more families who follow this happy trend then the ones who are the part of the devil deed and am sure that the society that we live in is a balance of both good and bad. 😃

however i didnt like seema's dialogues reg daughters not getting a certain place in they maayka as compared to sasural etc.

Also veena's reaction has not be clearly portrayed yet, she didnt say a word to gaurav for what he did rather wanted to stop him. pathetic

Was wondering will chopra's ever give siddhi the same place and respect, i highly feel she deserves it too,

norzar

Noreen agreed to what you said - but you have to understand one thing Seema is shown in her late 30's and not in 20's. Back then most of the parents taught their girl that Beti ki bidaai hoti hain doli mein and that she only steps out of the house in her arthi. There were so many movies that depicted this trend aswell. Whether we accept it or not it was the truth that daughters despite getting the place in mayaka the samaj would not get her that position and even though it was mistake of men women would be looked down on. This is a very complex situation/issue and hence am not going to discuss this any further on this forum. Especially for people who have not lived in India for long it is next to impossible to even understand it.

Did not understand regarding same place for Siddhi - but if you remember when Raj had to chose between Siddhi and Kunal he sided Siddhi before during their divorce issue.

Your reaction on Veena - she is a gone case anyways - tell me one thing she is doing rationally these days. Sometimes i think why is she even shown. She should be in asylum. But again she is a mother who has lost her one son so may be she is shown blind in love. (There is a benefit of doubt on CV's part)

Shobhit - I don't think Ekta is promoting any social cause here. It must be the part of the story line. It is just the bug of woman liberalization in me picked up the cause😛 out of it -

As far as story - being short lived - not sure how long this will last.😕

The change comes from the support of the public. The mindset of public has to change. The public have blind sided all these issues and hence it is the eye opener for many. In the name of modernization people have forgotten the basic issues.
These changes were brought in society since Adi Kaal meaning from very past. Look at our history women always had a strong position in society.
We had so many reformists who had worked around these issues - Swami Dayanand Saraswati being one of those. It is pity that people these days have totally forgotten our history.

Again this topic can go endlessly so am not going to have any more debate on this one -😊

I totally second your views. I really liked the episode in terms of the way they showed the entire family supporting Seema. Every character had a role to play and the entire episode was very well written, Seema's own pain and her agony at Gaurav leaving, Ishaani's pleas for her dad to stay, Vikram and Sudhanshu's hurt and anger, Raveena consoling Ishaani, Siddhi consoling Veena, Kunal and Raj standing up for Seema. Everyone had an appropriate reaction to the situation. Great job by the writers. 👏

So well said - the best was somehow everyone sided Seema -
