Kunal is a Dumbo But It's Understandable

I posted this in the WU thread but @iamrani thought it deserved a separate post (thanks😉) so I'll say it again with a bit more explanation:

I think Kunal's reaction right now is a combination of different things:

1. His body is still trying to cope with the drugs that stupid Richa put into him. He's still messed up and can't remember exactly how everything happened (I hope this doesn't mean he forgot Richa made a move on him 😭 ). Women who are given date rape drugs like these often suffer from memory loss and that's actually sometimes worse and more scary than remembering the incident because you don't know exactly what happened to your body.

For someone like Kunal, this kind of loss of control must be devastating. I think he really is afraid he forced Siddhi to accept him in bed after seeing the broken bangles, and she's putting on a brave face for the family's sake.

They went from shouting to kissing and missed the whole talking part in between. 😆 So in his mind, he went from being best platonic friends with Siddhi to sleeping with her in the blink of an eye.

And that too after he evidently drank too much at the party - enough to cause a blackout (he assumes) - and definitely enough to apparently make sure the consummation was a little rough. I mean bloodletting on your suhaag raat is not something most men aim for, esp honorable types like Kunal. It's clear he went at least a little caveman on poor Siddhi (who seems to have no complaints ☺️ if only he was in any condition to notice).

2. He confessed his love for Siddhi but it's a love that he doesn't dare confess to even himself when he's sober. Even when he was high and confessing his love to Siddhi (aka Richa) he kept begging her not to be angry with him.

Siddhi for him is basically Mother Teresa. She sacrificed her whole life for the sake of his brother's love and even found a way to take care of him, Kunal, despite hating him. You don't have those kinds of feelings for Mother Teresa 😲

But the point is, Siddhi is a real woman, not some saint. He really has NO CLUE that Siddhi's flirty bits of conversation and the way she takes care of him actually mean something more, er, physical.

And how could he when his one experience with love is Richa who only ever thinks about herself. He's the one who was always taking care of Richa, cooking for her, doing things for her, going to fight for her. He can't relate to Siddhi being his equal in love even though Anand pretty much spelled it out to him because Richa is his role model for a woman in love. 🤢 He doesn't know Richa is actually just a role model for psychos.

Today, when he was trying to make sense of everything, he couldn't complete the thought of his being in love with Siddhi even in his own mind. He completely shied away from it.

3. His guilt that he slept with Siddhi on Anand's barsi. C'mon yaar! You wake up disoriented from what appears to have been a really hot first time (you go, Siddhi! 😳) and find out it's your brother / her ex's barsi? Major mood killer. 😆

4. His conviction that he's not able to keep Siddhi happy in spite of everything he's done to change himself. I have no idea why he feels this way but that was the point of that scene in which he goes back to his old hangouts to feel sorry for himself, I guess.

Now we know that this is all a load of crap and Siddhi can tell him the same if they ever talk but the moment poor Siddhi is informed of Kunal's mahaan decision, she's going to think Kunal is divorcing her for Richa. 😕

As far as she knows, Kunal told Richa he loves her, broke up her engagement, came home to find Siddhi in one of her moods, tried to make her stop, things really PROGRESSED 😆☺️ and then the next day onwards he can't look her in the face, screams in the bathroom, and goes away to Pune so he can come back and announce their divorce. I bet she feels really cheap and betrayed

So Kunal is a acting like a total dumbo but imo, once he's over the trauma, he'll be better.

Or maybe I'm just thinking too much about an Ekta Mai ka soap. 🤣 This is probably more analysis than the writers have done! 😆

You know, Bumtrinket, most of the recent posts here are filled with praise for our haloed lord Kunal..."awww he's under the influence, that witch did it to him, he isnt to blame, he doesn't realize his feelings"...blah. It's surprising, considering we are mostly women/girls here, that no one before this has wanted to see this from Siddhi's POV. So Kudos to you Bumtrinket.👏

Now put yourselves in Siddhi's shoes...she heard her husband say 'I love you' to his ex. while embracing her, she goes home to pack up & leave, when he comes home...(sober enough) to lustily make her stay & consummates their marriage. The next morning he guiltily avoids eye contact, stays out the whole night & if the precap is to be believed, stings her with divorce papers the next day. What is she to think? Common girls, if this were your husband, what would you do?

On yet another note, Anand's last wish was for kunal to take care of Siddhi & their mother. In reality, It's Siddhi who is fulfilling Anand's wish not Kunal, is it...The mother was saved thanks to Siddhi agreeing to the marriage,
She paid the house loan, she got Kunal the job, he won the Nisha case thanks to her, she saved Raveena from Rohit, she talked Vikram into staying with Raveena & now she's even had to fight his ex. to save her marriage😲 I really think it's time for him to stop singing the Mussafir song, pull up his socks & be a man.

& yes, this certainly is way more analysis than the cvs will ever do.

kunal has strong character. but the problem is his attitude. he has attitude probs seriously my god someone has to treat it.
first of all i want to ask siddhi is anand's fiance nt wife y kunal thinking somuch or shall isay too much.
he made promise to anand tat he keeps mom n siddhi happy wat does tat mean he knew it actually wat it means before doing it.
he promised siddhi tat he will not take anand's place fine then how he is saying i am not able to become anand. how can he replace anand in siddhi's life how possible.
he stayed with siddhi for few months he can't understand how siddhi is feeling for him. everyday our parents will say tat i love u beta so tat i did this. expressions of love will be different no guranteeof being verbal know. can't he understand tat he is so dumb.till now i didn't see kunal strong. somuch weak of emotions.
he is just emotional. he just assumes himself tats it. most of the times thinks he is right n decides himself. how can he take divorce decision himself not only his siddhi's life too involved how can he simply take other's life decision too in emotional. eventhough he is intelligent lawyer he is just emotional not sensible,reasonable. he is in hands of emotions tas it. no offence to anyone it's just my pov.😊

Completely agree with you. i wa getting mad @ him seeing the scene, trying to be mahaan. this goldmedalist cant understand that his wife loves him, craving 4 his love. and is not regretting what happened between them. if she wasnt ok with that, she would never talk to him so sweetly regarding his headache!!!! how can he do this. day after the incident, he wants to divorce her! kunal chopra u found out a new way to hurt ur wife, its horrible😡 .

@red: the meaning i know for mahan is sacrificing urself for others. keeping others feelings before than urfeelings. if kunal talked or made attempt n confirmed tat siddhi loves anand n can't love anyone then i think he is mahan how come he simply assumes himself tat siddhi doesn't love him n takes decision himself life decision it's just being emotional attitude probs.
he may be right in others matters but most of the time he is wrong in siddhi's matters. he is somewat selfish in siddhi matters i say in another angle.
siddhi for sake of love to anand for anad's family she accepted to marry kunal. no rule tat love can't happen again.so she is in love with kunal. but she is concerned for his feelings than her feelings tats y she tried but can't,.she can't see kunal hurt n see kunal in pain.actually this is stopping her to talk to kunal openly.she indirectly told kunal her intentions n when kunal made move she might thought tat he got it . here siddhi already playing mahan no need another mahan

he is complex character. many complexities. he is fixed,rigid n emotional by nature. he can't move on with past. his major prob is he can't accept wat life gives n move on n keep on dreaming n making attempts.to say he is pessimistic now. he is fixed tat he loves witcha n can't love anyone else n keep sidhi happy in true sense than just compromise in sake of keeping happiness he might mean, he thinks or assumes tat siddhi is anand's love n i can't keep her happy n she can't be happy truely with him with out any pressures or responsibilities just being husband n wife she might be like tat but not in true sense out of love he might mean tat 😊 when v r in hands on emotions can't see the situation or might lose logic simply go whereever emotion takes us it leads to confusion,suffer n pain nothing else. he is in confused state, he himself not clear, he lost stability,sometimes he say woh sometimes he say that .he is not a kid know tat u will be under some influence always n always somebody will be there to motivate u always n understand things by peeling banana for u 😆 he must make some adult frds it seems than simply playing with ishani n other girl. hope cvs show some kunal a man 😳 here after 😃

very well explained ...loved the topic...nd i am sure the kind of analysis you have done...cvs will never bother about thinking so much about the chracters of siddhi nd kunal...though i still dont blame kunal fully...yes he is wrong to think till the extent of divorce ...but for regretting their consummation ...he has his own reasons as u poitned it out aptly ...but i feel really very very bad for siddhi...poor woman...what she was thinking nd wat she ll be getting in the form of kunal wanting a divorce...my heart really goes out to her...though i am sure divorce will never take place...nd through this track sinal wll come closer... nd confession will happen eventually...i soo hope we dont have to wait much for it nd on valentines day the much awaited confession of sinal happens...
