Never wished to drag myself on this thread, but i guess i have at least some freedom to express my opinion related to show.........
To give a shot, i also watched interview. Interview was cute but looking onscreen and off screen are two different things. There are some jodis who are in relationship off screen and got a chance to work together onscreen but didnt appreciated by audience. But there are quite few as well, who never bonded very well off screen, but their onscreen karisma no one can forget. So both spaces are total different....... About chemistry between Arjun and Bhavna, being neutral viewer it didn't click me. I have seen many serials in my life and i have fallen into love of chemistry by just watching single episode....... But here it has not clicked me despite of being one month. Sorry to hurt ChandNi fans, I cant feel that magic which probably you are seeing. And thats why those song sequence every week do irritate me a lot. If there would have been some spark, no song sequence would have also worked. One more surprising fact, I cant see any FF, VM on this forum if people are liking ChandNi so much?????
Leave the chemistry. In fact, as a woman i cant relate and stand by Niru's character. She as character looks selfish to me most of the time. That's the most negative fact.
Moving back to interview. there is nothing wrong is saying hope audience accept me. Every actor does same and wishes same. But again that is again up to the individual actor to prove that audience by your act and not just by word.
About criticizing story, I will not agree. Characterization of this serial are really good. Yes but couldn't disagree on fact CV and PH are deviated from other good and plus factors of the serial in urge to make lead pair popular. They need to balance out the things, before its too late.
Now last part which i want to understand is from channel perspective. Its actually confusing for me. Many people are saying BK is learner, give her a chance. There is other serial on same channel, where channel fired lead actress just because they felt she doesn't suit in look and made a replacement. Despite of the fact, she already shot some episodes for serial. And for a lead they selected known face and she accepted in her interview, that channel finalized her without major look test...... I am failing to understand channel strategy for considering Bhavna as lead actress for PMMKA, when none of their article talked about her much before even serial started.
Hey Darshana,
I respect your opinion vis-a-vis this interview. It is always nice to hear and ponder over the oft-disparate views of our community, providing food for thought, and perhaps prompting one to scrutinize the show in a much more meaningful and holistic context.
I think it is quite reasonable that ChandNi did not seem to click with you on the basis of the fact that our defintion of self sufficient pleasure is highly multifarious and tailored or tuned to our own persona. In this light, what the "ChandNians" may find relishing would turn out to be not so palatable to you. While we see the song sequences as another step closer towards their relationship, you may see it as a banal attempt to fill in the time or a jaded idea of putting them under the limelight for the sake of prosperity of the show. I, for one, relate the song sequences to the character sketch; Chandu is depicted as a lad with a passion for music, with the guitar never leaving his vicinity while the melodious stints at the cafe become routine. So naturally, the guy's world revolves around the tunes exuding from the strings of his guitar as he indulges in self reflection of his ambiance, his world, and those closley linked to him. I dare say succumbing to a highly melodious and colourful trance is a sure testament to the logic prevailing by virtue of the aforementioned facts. But then again, you really go on about musing to such depths should the character sketch itself bemuses you. Put simply, I see this as an act of trying to get into the skin of his character. Ofcourse the fact that these days, dramas on this scale are laden with the ever bollywood inspired melodies is another reflecting point in itself. Maybe the channel does not want to lose out while similar serials get the lion's share of the cake. These could ver well be the ever sneaky marketing policies. Yet still, all in good fun as they sweep the fans into an emphatic reverance for its characters.
You also allude to drawing a fine line between what is observant on screen and offscreen. Albeit I agree with you, I would also like to point out that the offscreen hoopla is merely a way to narrow the gap between the show and its viewers. When it is touted that the leads of the show are apparently best of the buds offscreen, then the reverance meter goes up a notch as the masses of people go on ascertaining their level of comfort with each other, similarities, and perhaps even the possibility of something more than jsut friendship brewing offscreen. It makes that much more appreciative knowing that what they emote on screen, although may not be a total reflection of reality, yet has the slightest bit of apossiblity of grazing the fictional nuances. But the onus is on one to tread with caution. Fiction and reality can prove to be quite disparate in their happenings and ergo, at the ned of the day, it is perhaps best to be wary of the existence of the fine line between the two realms.
In addition, ChandNi's relationship is pretty premature as of now. For all we know, love is certainly not consensual at this juncture. In my opinion, it is a kind of a one sided story with Chandu going all gaga over Niru, while she tries to grapple with the new environment and the blossoming friendship. You can begin to see the tinges of love sparking, but it is not quite there yet. Hence, it would be a bit rich to assume at this point in time that this is all to ChandNi. Suffice it to say, this is the mere beginning. The fact that you do not see any such literaries as FFs, VMs etc could very well be alloted to this notion. Furthermore, I am an ardent follower of ChandNi, yet I do not feel inspired enough, nor have the dexterity, to scribe a FF or concoct together a fancy VM for the sake of showing my loyality to the jodi. Remember, one does not need to highly overt in their appreciation- even on an open forum as this. Some of us are a little less salient by nature and would rather prop back on our seats and enjoy the show over a cup of tea rather than make a beeline for the keyboard. A life on the go can be equally harrowing, as in my case, whereby I only can spare so much time to catch up on the episodes let alone trying to come up with a script for a FF!
As to Niru's character, I have discussed quite a few times. I, unforutnately, do not agree with your stance pertaining to the character's progression. Niru might be selfish, but not quite in the same way as you opined. To put it aptly, she is selfish for being selfless. From the time she stepped on the soil of an urban world, she has set her mind on one brave motive- to better her father's ailing condition. In that process, she perhaps has blinded herself from the rest of amenities the highly socialized world has to offer, garnering the epithet of a selfish person.
Standing up on your feet, facing the wind head on, and being resilient all the while do not signify non altruism. Rather, these are the polished skills of a stoic, determined individual who has their eys set on the prize.
Lastly, on to Bhavna Khatri, I honestly do not see how people go on about a missive claiming she lacks in quality and command. I have said this before, but I was coerced into watching this show just by skimming through the initial scenes which were more or less saw her at the helm, and I am not shy to say I got hooked. To my mind, she portrays the character well and is consistent in her portrayal of a poignant lesson in dignified survival in the face of grappling with multi faceted threats the new world had in store for her. I am scratching my heads as to what I am missing when you see people expressing their anguish across the boards. I know I am not injecting in an irrational bias seeing that this is my first acquaintance with Bhavna. But oh well, to each his own. I think it would be more prudent if we asked ourselves the cause of our plight. Are we, perchance, frustrated because of the lack of "balance" in the show? Or is it that we just really do not like Bhavna because she is not Rati Pandey? These two questions have vast implications in their own context but are in no way tied to Bhavna Khatri. Prudence deems it necessary that we segregate these idea into their own category rather than pulling them into the context of the current situation as far as ChandNi are concerned. Doing do could potentially solve the problem.
On that note, I will sign off as I got much work to do sadly :( But not before I say that the aforementioned views are only that i.e views. No one is obliged to be their proponent. It is a free and open forum after all. I respect your views as you should mine and I certainly am not trying to coerce you into adopting these for the fun of it. I just wanted to splay across my opinion on a lazy sunday afternoon :) The onus is on you, and only you, to pick and choose what you deem self sufficient :)
Have a great day y'all.

I would have avoided commenting here, as i actually do not bother abt these interviews, had u not brought the story in here.
Well, for me, the love story, itself is forced, it was not given time to grow, the way Chandu has been shown crazy about Niru without any substance or base, leaves the viewers all messed up. It seems like another 3 hr movie romance - u see, u fall in love, some probs and u meet again. And apart from that it has messed up other characters and whole plot of the show.
Chandu as a character, is being turned into a road side romeo, who cares about nothing but a girl he met few days ago. I m sorry, but i wasnt too happy to see him dreaming about that girl and sulking after his father asked him to concentrate on his career. It seemed he is being forced, and is not into it totally from his heart.
As for Niru, i repeat, i m yet to understand her character, because, she seems like a multi-faced person, or someone suffering from multiple personality disorder. Albela and Sarja both are goons, then y when she can answer Albela back, she cant do the same with Sarja.
She acts like this brave girl with her sister and infront of Chandu she becomes a damsel in distress, completely beyond me.
Coming to Bhavna Khatri, like u said, to each his own, she is lacking BIG time as far as acting in concerned, and i can sight not one but many instances.
I didnt understand, y u brought Rati Pandey here? i mean isnt it obvious, that people who liked Rati, will not like her. I have seen her work, in her previous both shows, and she is an amazing actress, people having seen her obviously will not like Bhavna, coz she neither has poise, not expressions like Rati. Bhavna, doesnt look like a lady also, she looks like sme besotted teenager, so there cant be any spark in her scenes with Arjun.
anyways, i hope the showmakers wake up, smell the coffee, and do something, else doomsday is very near.
