She had a dream of what her husband would be like and she built her castle up in the clouds, she didn't get that castle but she's trying to build a new one and she is even willing to make herself into what Shiva wished for to make the marriage work; adjustment and compromise (I don't know if this would be the right word for them to use.. I've always personally had an issue with saying compromise for marriages or any relationships for that matter). I want to see them evolve in the marriage, accepting and adapting to living together and I really hope that's how they start looking at it because neither should have to change to the extent where they forget their own self.

A small side note for where credit is due, Shiva at least said even though it may have been in anger that she doesn't need to change herself for him and she's perfect for a lot of people (i had to go back to hear the dialogue) and it struck a chord, he has reiterated multiple times to her that he won't ever change the way he is and you can see that slight flare of anger (kudos to KD) when she talks about just that... Changing herself for him. He has never wanted that and thinks as much when he says he started liking her.

She points out that she isn't married to anyone else but him so she deserves to be treated as a part of him and wants him to tell her what he feels.

I digress; the conversation in the mirror is truly that a reflection of their feelings, they are both hurting and they're both angry, for very different reasons. Just as there is an expectation of what you see in a reflection, they're both looking for a validation of their emotions in the reflection of the other.

He sees her physical aspects but seems to have lost sight of her qualities and she's looking to find a reason for the emotional outburst but doesn't notice it's his physical attributes that seem to be bothering him.

This bone of contention will continue going round in circles because neither is really listening to what the other has to say, only the words are being heard, just as your reflection will say the words you want it to.

I don't know if the creatives thought this deep about the actual scene but this is what I thought of it. Some scenes just stick and for me this was definitely one of them. Not sure what's been discussed earlier so apologies if someone has already mentioned this 😊. I've tried harder to line up my thoughts so they're not too haphazard😊

uff jaan this is such a beautiful and apt analysis

I also appreciated the mirror scene a lot - for the first time in weeks, they had a solid conversation where you could see what both of their viewpoints are regarding their marriage and where they stand

I would definitely love more introspection on Raavi's part - is she trying to compromise or is she accepting that what she thought she wanted previously, isn't what she wants right now

Shiva telling her to not change for him was just reminded me of the old shiva who was so confident in himself

I assumed wrongly that people were supporting him cause he's hot! Apologies, my fault and I shall retract my statement on this subject!

Have a great day everyone! ❤️

Jaanu meri jaan thank you 😘

@bold - Exactly. Shiva has always been very comfortable in his skin, the CVs have made it a point to show both pre leap and post leap which is why I'm having such issues accepting him taking the words of anyone, including Raavi whom he does like, to heart over something such as physical appearance.

Thinking retrospectively, they started this whole insecurity from the haveli, where Dhara first tells him he needs to start paying attention to his clothes, to Raavi calling him gawar and then Raavi washing his clothes. It was so good to see him at least fight for being comfortable in his skin then and I want to see it again now. He should never have to think of himself as not enough.

Coming to Raavi (I'm going to rip into her slightly) she really needs to face reality. I know in PS timeline its only been a few months (maybe 2-5 based on wedding to shravan) and her life has been turned upside down and she deserves some leeway, but, she is married, she needs to really think about what she wants from this marriage, does she want to stay married, what are her expectations (no she cannot say she wants to adjust to a life with someone), what is she willing to do to take a step forward because she can't just say that she wants to move ahead, she needs to show it too; her actions don't belie her words.

Also, she wanted to get married to Dev so she must have thought about what their relationship would be like, yes Shiva is not Dev, but marriage is marriage and she might not want a physical relationship with him yet but they need to ay least start by shedding the emotional baggage they carry for each other.

They haven't had a meaningful conversation in their marriage apart from when he clarified his actions on the kidnapping. He doesn't speak much and what she says is taken out of context. (These two need to go see a marriage counsellor.)

100% agree with everything you said

Raavi, especially, is being too dobi about what she wants and it's the makers' fault as well for not giving us scenes where she thinks about her marriage

as someone who is a product of marriage counseling, I am a huge advocate for it but itv showing it? fat chance

Well considering mannat vs doctor for baby definitely no chance of counselling happening.. Sorry for the mini rant it wasn't directed at you since i agreed to your whole post 100% (and I love you so can't get angry at you khote khote) It just reminded me why I wasn't watching all the episodes. I've just realised as I'm going back through the episodes that I have skipped quite a few episodes (watching them properly, with the intention of watching and not just as background noise)
