Rishita had a hard time to adjust into pandya family right from day 1, but now that they are back in Somnath it was getting even more difficult.she hated to see her overly qualified husband working at the store.even shiva works there.what is the value of his education?their fights escalated.she wanted him to take up the job offer and settle down, have a comfortable Life of their own in a big city.was it too much to ask for? She had fallen for the smart, polished, studious guy of the college.she didn't even recognize this person anymore.she left no stone unturned in insulting his family.dev was fed up of constantly apologizing to everyone on her behalf.he had fallen for the mischievous, bubbly girl, who had an infectious laughter. Who was this girl in front of him?
He couldn't help but notice the stark difference between raavi and rishita. Raavi gelled into their family so well, as if she has always been a part of it.he knew it was unfair to compare them both, given the fact that rishita was new and raavi had literally grown up with them.but he couldn't help it.now they were at a position where it was difficult to even stand each other.previously they fought inside their room, but now they didn't even care about who was listening.
They had one such big fight in the afternoon.the whole family gathered in the living room listening to their Loud voices.
'" tumhe to hamesha Mai hi galat lagti hu dev.baaton ko itna ghuma kyu rahe ho? Saaf saaf keh kyu Nahi dete ki tumhe regret ho Raha hai mujhse Shaadi karke" rishita yelled at him.
" Hann...ho Raha hai regret.aur uski wajah bhi Tumne hi Di hai. " Dev yelled back pointing his finger at her.
" Isse Accha hota ki tum us din ayi hi Nahi Hoti aur meri Shaadi raavi se ho jaati " he said in frustration and regretted immediately.
He has crossed a line.
He closed his eyes and sighed.
Rishita stood stunned.
Raavi grew uncomfortable at the mention of this and looked down.
Shiva Clenched his fists, he didn't like his chipkali's name to be associated with anyone else.he felt a weird sensation in his stomach.was he jealous?but he knew that Dev was a huge part of her life once.they had never talked about Dev in the 2 months of their marriage.he was an off topic for them.raavi made sure that she never came face to face with Dev alone.dev also never came to their room, when he had to talk to shiva he will either msg him or call him.the only time they were in the same room was in the living room with rest of the family during eating.there was an underlying awkwardness and they all had grown used to it.
He spared a glance at raavi trying to read her expression.she was looking down.
" Dev..." Dhara Said shocked at what she just heard.this was a sensitive topic which the family always avoided.but now the damage has been done.
Rishita smiled sarcastically and clapped looking at raavi.
" Tum to bahut Khush hogi raavi.tum yehi to chahti thi.congratulations.mai Dev ke nazro Mai gir gayi aur tum mahaan ho gayi." She said with tears of anguish in her eyes .
Shiva glared at her with narrowed eyes.
Raavi looked at her unsure.she remembered how she had insulted her long back and shuddered at the thought of it happening again.
" Rishita...I am .." Dev started to come toward her but she showed her a hand.
"Nahi dev.aaj mujhe Bolne do.tum Sab log Jo yeh sanskaar, maryada ke mukhote ke peeche chupte ho na...mujhe Sab pata hai andar hi andar kya chal raha hai." She said.
"Aap logo ne Kabhi socha hai ki Jo ladki bachpan se Dev se pagalo ki Tarah pyar karti thi woh ek hi pal Mai uske Bhai se Shaadi Karne ke liye kaise maan gayi? " She said.
" Yeh tumhara plan tha na? Shiva se Shaadi karke ISS Ghar Mai AANA aur Dev ke Aas paas rehkar use rijhana. congratulations! Tum kamyab ho gayi...mere pati ko lagta hai ki tum mujhse Kahi zyada behtar wife Banti " Rishita scowled in anger
Dev looked away knowing that a lot of damage has been done.
Raavi felt disgusted at her accusations.her Somnath knew that she had never thought of Dev in an inappropriate way after marriage.yess..she loved him and it had taken her some time to deal with her grief.but wasn't she allowed even that?she couldn't gather the courage to reply back.she didn't want to cry in front of her, but her tears refused to stop.
Dhara was about to intervene when she heard a roar .
"RISHITA " shiva said stopping her from continuing further.
He held raavis hand and pulled her with him so that now they were standing in front of rishita.he left her Abruptly.
" Yeh Jo ladki hai na ...ek number ki gadhedi hai." He said pointing towards Raavi.
Raavi looked up at shiva confused.
" Teri Tarah Tedha dimag Nahi hai iska Jo aise ghatiya ideas aye. Use itna BADA sadma laga... apni Jaan tak Lene ki kosish ki usne,par jabse woh Shaadi karke ISS Ghar Mai ayi hai na...tabse usne aankh utha Kar Dev ki Tarah Nahi Dekha...aur ISS Baat Ka gawah Mai hoo " he said pointing towards himself.
" Maine Kabhi raavi ko woh izzat aur pyar nahi Diya Jo ek patni ka haq hota hai , hamesha maami Ka gussa uspe nikalta Raha " he said with a tinge of guilt in his voice.
" Par phir bhi usne hamesha mere parivaar ke baare Mai socha.woh parivaar jisne Uske Saath itna galat kiya, use itne bade dhoke Mai rakha. har rasam, har farz ko shiddat se nibhaya...isliye Tu use Rishton ki maryada mat Sikha...samjhi? ".shiva said pointing a finger towards rishita, controlling the rage inside him.
Raavi looked at shiva with pride replacing the tears in her eyes.he was standing up for her? He had always protected her from physically getting hurt, but today he was protecting her respect.the thought itself overwhelmed her.
" Tum mujhse ISS Tarah badtameezi se Baat Nahi Kar sakte hai...Mai bhabi hu tumhari...dhara Di..aap kuch kehte kyu Nahi ise? " Rishita said looking at dhara.
" Woh to shukr mana ki Mai bas Baat Kara Raha hu ...koi aur hota na.." he stopped controlling himself.
" Badtameezi ki shuruwat Tumne ki thi rishita.tumne shiva ki patni ke charitra par sawaal uthaya, tumhe Jawab dene Ka Pura haq hai use." dhara said
" Aur Dev Tu...raavi tere chote Bhai ki patni hai.tu kaise Uske baare Mai is Tarah Baat Kar sakta hai? Woh bhi sabke Saamne? Ek Baar bhi nahi socha ki rishita ko kaisa lagega? Shiva aur raavi ko yeh sunkar Kaisa lagega?
Dev came to shiva feeling guilty.
" Shiva...Mera woh matlab Nahi tha.." he said when shiva put a hand on his shoulder.
" Tu rehne de Dev...Tu to BADA Bhai hai na, Tu to Kabhi galat ho hi Nahi sakta, mujhse Adhe Dil se maafi maang li , aur raavi ko to ek maafi ke layak bhi nahi samjha tune". He said shaking his head.
" Tujhe pata hai Teri problem kya hai? Tu hamesha situation ko face Karne ke jagah usse bhaagta hai, kyu ki woh zyada aasan raasta hai.tune tab bhi wohi Kiya tha, Tu ab bhi wohi Kar Raha hai. Rishita ke Saath tere jhagdon Ka bhi yehi karaan hai...Tu seedhe se Baat clear karta hi Nahi... par tum dono ke beech kya hota hai aur kya nahi...isse mujhe koi farq Nahi padta... par dobara meri patni ko Inn Sab ke beech mat ghaseetna ..samjha? " He said with serious tone.
Dev nodded.he had to set things straight.he has to seriously talk to rishita and find a way out.they cannot go on playing hide and seek forever.they have to talk about their future and come to a common agreement.but right now something else was more important.
Dev went in front of raavi.
He folded his hands in Front of her.
" Tumhe Mai kya hi kahu raavi.aisa Nahi hai ki Maine Kabhi tumse maafi mangne Ka socha Nahi... par tumhare Saamne aane ki himmat Nahi thi mujhme.har Roz bhagwan se yeh maangta tha ki Tumhare aur shiva ke beech Sab thk ho Jaye, tab shayad Mera guilt thoda Kam ho.mai jaanta hu mere indecisiveness ke wajah se tumhari Zindagi kharab huyi, mujhe shiva ne warn Kiya tha...Kahi na kahi Mai khud bhi tumhari feelings ke baare Mai jaanta tha... phir bhi Maine Kuch clear Nahi Kiya.mujhe woh tumhara bachpana laga tha...Jo waqt ke Saath khatam ho jayega. Par phir Sab Kuch itna jaldi ho Gaya ki mujhe sochne Ka mauka Nahi mila.jaanta hu mai tumhare maafi ke layak Nahi hu... par ho sake to mujhe maaf kardena..plz" he said with tears.
Raavi looked at shiva, unsure of what to say.dev genuinely apologised to her and even though she had thought she didn't care but getting a closure felt good.
Shiva nodded his head at her..as if assuring her that she can speak her mind.
" Dev...Jo bhi hua woh meri qismat thi. Shayad mere hatho ki lakeero Mai hamesha shiva Likha tha, aur Jo haalat bane woh mujhe meri Sahi manzil tak pahunchane ke liye bane.mujhe ISS Ghar Mai aane me baad realise hua ki hum dono Kabhi ek dusre ke liye Sahi Nahi hote.tumhe maaf Karna tumse zyada mere liye zaroori hai kyuki Apne dil Mai yeh bojh liye mai aage Nahi badh Sakti.maine tumhe maaf Kiya Dev " she said.
Dev felt a huge burden lift off his chest.
Dhara saw her kids smilingly, she always thought that they should not talk about the past as it will bring a bitterness between the brothers.but one cannot move on until they address the conflict.if you bury it, it will erupt stronger like a volcano.
Shiva felt the need to spend some time alone.he needed some fresh air. Dev went to talk to rishita, sensibly this time.
Raavi went to the terrace and sat down in deep thought. In the midst of her hurt she had failed to see shiva's pain. She was heartbroken, and the pandya family took care of her earnestly. Dhara Di, Krish, gombi, suman kaki ... everyone helped her get over her pain, find the zeal to live again.everyone sympathized with her. Shiva always kept a watchful eye one her.but what about him? It was not easy for him also. He got married to a girl he hated,a girl who loved his brother, he was not even ready to accept her as an extended member of his family....and now he had to accept her as his wife? He must have gone through so much silently, all alone.she sighed at the thought.
She didn't realise when it was evening.
Shiva came back and the first thing he did was search for her. He had gone to his tree to find some solace, but somehow he couldn't be calm even there.he needed her today.
He saw her sitting at the terrace with a Lost look.
" Tu theek hai? " He asked unsure if how she was feeling.
She nodded.
" Tu ? " She asked taking shiva by surprise.she was worried about him?
He nodded.
" Thank you...Mera Saath dene ke liye " she said
" Patni hai Tu meri. Aise kaise koi bhi tere baare Mai kuch bhi bakwas Kar sakta hai." He said looking into her eyes.
" Sorry shiva " she said.
Why was she sorry? He is the one who should be sorry for mistreating her for no fault of hers.
He looked at her with narrowed eyes.
" Mai jaanti hu yeh Shaadi nibhana tere liye Kitna mushkil hai.dev Ka failaya hua raita tujhe saaf Karna pada. Apne sapno ko maarke tujhe ek aisi ladki ko apnana pada jiske paas tujhe dene ke liye kuch nahi tha.bina koi sawal, Bina koi jhijhak ke tune Mera haath thaama , Maine tujhe Kitna Kuch sunaya...Dev ka gussa tujhpe nikala." She said , her eyes feeling up.
" Tu maafi kyu maang rahi hai? Maine bhi to kitni badtameezi ki hai tere saath, befizul ka gussa Kiya hai. Tu apni Zindagi ke itne nazuk mod par Thi...aur Maine Teri mushkile aur badha Di.maafi to mujhe maangni Chahiye." He said looking down.
" I am sorry." Both said at the same time.
Raavi chuckled.
" Achaa..dono ki galti...dono Ka sorry cancel " she said.shiva smiled seeing a glimpse of the old raavi.
" Achaa shiva...yeh bata tujhe Kabhi pyar hua hai? " She asked curiously.
" Yeh Kaisa sawal hai? Tu to mujhe bachpan se jaanti hai...tere alawa Kisi aur ladki ko Dekha hai mere Aas paas." He said.
Raavi smiled.she felt good about it.for shiva, it has always been her.even though they fought like cats and dogs.
" Achaa...koi crush to Hoga... school Mai?." She asked further.
" Ae maamikibehenkibeti...mana Maine zyada padhai Nahi ki... par school Mai yeh awaragardi Nahi karta tha Mai.aur waise bhi Kabhi Inn Sab ke liye waqt hi Nahi Mila...dukaan, maa, bhabi aur gombi...yehi meri duniya thi raavi.kabhi ISS duniya me bahar Kuch socha hi Nahi." He said sincerely
It was true.this man loved his family to death.will he love her like that one day also? Will she also be soo important to her one day? The thought made her heart flutter.
" Waise khwaish to meri bhi thi...ki mujhe Deepika jaisi koi ladki mile... par Mili kaun? Tujh jaisi chipkali. " He said trying to lighten the situation when he saw her getting serious again.
" Dekh shiva...tujhe Mai chipkali lagti hungi.. par duniya walk ko na Deepika se bhi zyada cute lagti hu.aur Tu kya Apne aap ko ranveer singh samajhta hai?" She Said pouting.
She looked so cute when annoyed.
Shiva pulled her closer by holding her waist.
She felt conscious at the sudden proximity.
" Ab jo hai so hai... somnath ki Deepika se hi kaam chala Lunga Mai" he said .
"Shiva...kya hum ISS rishte ko ek mauka Nahi de sakte? Matlab jhagda to Kam Kar hi sakte hai...dosti Kar sakte hai?.." she stuttered looking at everywhere but him not knowing what to say.
Shiva held her chin and made her look up.
" Biwi hai Tu merii.yeh dosti wosti mujhse nahi hoga.rishta judega to pati patni ka .mai vaada karta hu ki tujhe tere hisse ki khusiyan dene ki Puri kosish karunga.tujhse Kabhi badtameezi Nahi karunga, tere saath koi Zoe zabardasti nahin karunga par kya Tu taiyar hai? Agar tujhe waqt Chahiye to bejhijhak bol de, Mai tera intezaar karunga." He said.
He had started falling for her long back, but stopped himself thinking about her.but not today.h has to give them a chance.he has to take the first step.
"Shiva... Mai bhi ISS rishte ko Dil se nibhana chahti hu. Mujhe jitna waqt Lena tha Maine le liya.ab aur Nahi... Apne ateet Ka asar main hamare future par Nahi padne dungi...yeh Mera vaada hai tujhse " she said putting her hands in his cheek.
Shiva smiled and hugged her wiping off a lone tear that fell from his eyes.this felt so right.raavi in his arms.they marked a new beginning today.
I really want the Dev and shivi conflict to be addressed in the show, this is my small attempt at writing on that subject. Do let me know how you guys feel about it.🤗🤗
