While I am still trying to find the right words to define Shiva and Raavi, but I’d try to hold on to some words that Raavi voiced in today's episode! Like I had always believed, she had compartmentalised her grief under the garb of family, fights etc. But, her cathartic apocalypse of feelings was long due. It was so natural that it seemed we always had a glimpse of her heart through her eyes, sifting between gloom, hope, denial, anger and acceptance all in an uproar!

She accepts, like a tigress, no longer moping, saved from an emptiness of a marriage. Dev had nothing to offer her except void or Khalipana. Emptiness is worse than being in any form of consumption of feelings- a dor - a string of attachment. What if the ‘dor’ is of hatred; so she assumed! At least it has ‘Shiddat’; an all-consuming involvement of heart and soul.

Shiddat is an intense word in Arabic Sufiyana poetry - a phrase used initially for worship or a form of utmost devotion of the heart and soul. Raavi finds that sense of attachment with Shiva. No matter how immersive or non-anticipated, at least there are corroborated feelings placed against her thwarted dreams.

Here she is, latching on, holding onto the Dor-her Shiva. He gives her what her heart could desire, possibly at this point, something that makes her feel alive - a purpose of sailing through her existential crisis.

Takes me back to her wedding; she crash-landed from a giant wheel of rosy heavens to a cold marble floor. She called herself a dead body; that tore the Aag Boy’s heart, didn't it?

रिश्ते भरोसे चाहत यकीन

उन सबका दामन अब चाक है

समझे थे हाथों में है ज़मीन

मुट्ठी जो खोली बस ख़ाक है

दिल में ये शोर है क्यों

ईमान कमज़ोर है क्यों

These Lines are from A famous Song Dor. It elucidates the tremors of her heart on her wedding day.

All the relationships, trust and desires

They have been torn into pieces.

A moment ago, she had everything in her fist

Now what is left are the ashes of her burnt heart

Her heart has too much grief, her confidence shaken

She is just hanging there barely by a thread....

That wedding day, Raavi saw everything around her fall apart from that one emotion that stood by her side. They took vows, moved on from disbelief to being tied in a Dor for life. They weren't Shiva and Raavi anymore; they became his ‘shiddat’ and her ‘dor’.

He looked at her, extended his hand while she is lost.

She shrugs him; she can barely hold on, he cocoons himself in anger, a mechanism to save him from heartbreak. She couldn't even look at him during the wedding, shivering like someone had dropped her inside a cold chunk of the Ice bucket. Her heart was sinking into pitfalls with that unsettling feeling at the pit of her stomach like a handful of cold gravel.

She does what she is best hoping for, to hang on to a thread, clinging on to him. I so loved this frame! That's how the child Raavi is, clinging on to him for support. She can't hold his hand, too early for that. She just hangs on, clutching onto his cuff, much like a lost child trying to find her way back home. He was stifling a few seconds ago; he lets go. Perhaps, she can not be her Sangini now. He definitely chose to lead and to tie that Dor with her.

He looks at her with sombre thought while trying her to another Dor- the ultimate thread that finally holds them together.

And they are culminating into being together and sworn for life!

Amidst an incredible fear of being empty, she doesn't find hope! She finds remarkable devotion of heart and soul! A shiddat of hatred! At least, there's some form of consumption of her heart in it!
