Raavi opened her eyes slowly and wondered why she is awake. When she felt her throat dry, she realized that she must have waked up due to it. Sitting up, she reached and took the water jug. But it was empty. She got shocked because she remembered very well filling this up while going to bed. Who has drunk all this? She wants to bang her head against the nearby wall. Of course, it must be Shiva. Only they two are staying in this room. She got angry with him. She is not going to blame him for drinking her water, but he could have at least left some water for her. She turned towards his side and found the bed empty. Her eyes widened in shock. She got up soon and switched on the light. She ran to the other side of the bed to check whether he fell from the bed. They just got injured yesterday and he is limping already. She cannot see him more hurt. Thank god! He had not fallen. But, where is here then?
The next moment she panicked thinking whether he had again gone to play any tricks on Rishita. But, he doesn’t fight anymore with her. Oh, goodness. She remembered today’s morning incident and shivered in fear. She is sure that he must have gone to scare her mausi now. Deciding to stop him before another drama happens, she ran outside. But then she thought being a good girl, she should switch off their room light to save electricity bill and hence came back. When she switched off the light only, she noticed that their bathroom light is on. She rolled her eyes. Shiva is too troublesome. He drank all the water and forgot to switch off the light after using it. Does he think she is his caretaker?
‘Oh for god's sake, he was the one who is taking care of you’ her heart said in a tired tone and she decided to ignore it completely. Lately, it had been started taking his side so much so that she doubts now whether it belongs to him or her. She walked towards the bathroom and switched off the light. When she turned around she heard him shout.
“Who the hell switched off the light?”
She could not help but roll her eyes. Who else could be? Only two are staying here in the room. He is a fool.
‘Says the one who was about to search the whole haveli for her husband rather than their bathroom first’ her heart taunted her. But, whatever it said is true. Why she didn’t think of checking the bathroom first?
‘Because you are brainless’ her heart said in a sing-song voice.
‘Hey, how can you call her that? I was just taking rest for some time’ her mind said in a sleepy voice.
‘You were resting all the time anyway. Useless!’ her heart scolded her mind and before her mind come back with some witty reply, the bathroom door opened with a thud. Oh no! He is going to kill her for sure. But, suddenly she got excited about that – no, not about the killing part, but about the fact that they are going to do a super-duper fight now. How she missed him talking back to her? She could not even sleep well. Wait a minute! Is that why she woke up in the middle of the night? She gulped a little and found the throat still dry. Oh, yeah! It’s because she was thirsty.
“Hey, chipkali! Why are you awake in this hour?” he started shouting and she felt a certain satisfaction that could not be named. She happily turned towards him and her wide smile disappeared in an instant on seeing his wet body.
Yes, right. His body is wet. Not just a splash of water in his shirt. In fact, there is no shirt. He is shirtless and totally wet from the head to toe. He is just wearing shorts and that too is sticking to him like a second skin. Again, he is shirtless.
‘Did you say he is shirtless?’ her brain got alert suddenly.
‘Yes, idiot. Sleep more and miss this masterpiece’ her heart taunted more.
‘I am not in the mood to argue with you. Leave me alone’ her mind said impatiently.
‘I know very well which mood you are in now' her heart teased and she gulped. Which mood she is in? She was trying to decipher her mood when he stepped closer to her.
“Why are you not saying anything? Are you sick?” he pressed her wet palm on her forehead and she closed her eyes shivering.
“No, there is no fever” he removed his palm off her, and for the first time in her life, she felt bad for not having any fever. He thought for a moment and then his eyes roamed all over her in concern.
“Are you hurting anywhere?” he asked worriedly and she stood blank.
‘OMG! It seems the mind stopped working. I don’t know why it keeps on calling me weak-hearted when it has gone blank with just a simple touch!’ her heart complained. She suddenly shivered again and noted he is touching her. But, why?
It seems he decided to check himself when she didn’t answer him anything and hence started to touch all over her hands and face.
‘Oh no! this mind is going to be in a coma now’ her heart giggled and she is still blank. She could hear her heart clearly and feel his touch fully but still could not utter a single word. Oh goodness! Is the heart right? Is she in a coma now? She panicked. It is very unfortunate to be in a coma having a hot husband.
He stopped touching her and she got disappointed. What is the hurry? Can’t he take his time and check thoroughly? Neither this is their store nor a next customer is waiting in the queue. What next customer? She is the only customer here. He should take care of her needs only for the whole lifetime. But, what are her needs? She got confused now. Her thoughts were interrupted by Shiva’s words.
“Or maybe she is sleepwalking?” he wondered and she blinked.
“What?” she shouted and then felt happy that her mind started working again. Thank god she recovered from this wicked condition called a touch-inducing coma.
“Good lord! You scared me for a minute there. Why were you standing like a statue before?” he said in a relieving tone.
Had it been only a minute? Felt like an eternity. Maybe this is a symptom of being in a coma. She could not complete her thoughts because Shiva started shaking her up.
“What happened again now?” he asked restlessly.
She doesn’t want to get into a coma again and hence pushed his hands off from her.
“I am fine” she shouted at him. He shook his head in dismay.
“You are abnormal” He stated casually and started moving inside the room. But she got furious.
She grabbed his wet shoulders and turned him towards her forcefully. Why the hell his shoulders are still wet? Is it been only a minute? Why can’t he get dry soon so that she can fight with him in full focus?
“What?” he gritted his teeth and she removed her hands off him in fear.
“Why are you calling me abnormal?” she asked with as much as anger she can muster up.
“Because you are one. Who will stand blankly for no reason in the middle of the night?” he taunted.
“Oh please, you are more abnormal then. Who will take a bath with their clothes on in the middle of the night for no reason?” she taunted back.
He blinked and looked down murmuring, “I have my reason”.
“Oh really? What is the reason? Did you suddenly realize in your sleep that taking bath is a good habit and want to take a shower after I don’t know three days?” she said sarcastically and he glared at her like he is going to eat her alive.
He suddenly pulled her to his chest by the waist and she gasped seeing the intensity in his gaze. She could feel his body fully pressed to hers and it is not helping that he is fully drenched. She is very sure now that she needs to change her dress to sleep again.
“No, the real reason is I am still a bachelor even after marriage and needs a cold shower every sleepless night to keep my hands off my hot wife” he said in a husky voice and she gasped.
‘That's it. He killed the brain!'
