I think he was telling himself that he isn't the one for her, ki dono mein koi mel nahi hai. He was trying to suppress his hopes and desires for her because he believes that he isn't good enough for her, that she deserves a better husband just like he had told Dev when he forgave him for the wedding drama.

Shiva's insecurities are surfacing and pulling him away from his wife. I hope they talk about this soon, and Raavi needs to tell him that he's perfect in his own way and that she has accepted him!
