I have updated part 10 below. Please read it and let me know your thoughts on it. Thank you so much to all those who have read, reacted, and commented on my previous part. That meant so much to me.

Part 10:

Raavi walked as slowly as she could. She doesn’t want to reach the mandap soon. She is in no hurry to get there. She needs time. But, her mausi and di told her to make it fast. How can she make them understand that it is not easy for her? She could explain them but even if she tried, she could not utter a single word. Her mouth is stuffed with half of the burger. It’s not easy to eat all three burgers before reaching there. But she is still trying and she needs to walk slowly to do it successfully.

“For the last time I am warning you Raavi, walk fast!” her mausi said, gritting her teeth.

She nodded in response but continued walking at the same pace munching her burger.

Her mausi shook her head and pushed her forward which made her stumble a little. But, Anita di caught her immediately and steadier her.

“Are you okay, beta?” her mausi asked in a panicked voice.

Raavi turned furiously towards her mausi. In anger, she started biting her burger and chewing it with more than necessary force all the while glaring at her mausi.

Her mausi gulped and gave a sheepish smile.

“Not my fault, beta. It is your bridal lehenga’s “ her mausi said in defense pointing at her long skirt. Raavi could not help but roll her eyes and moved forward only to stumble again on her long skirt. Both her mausi and Anita di caught her on both sides steadying her.

“Arghh!” she screamed, making both of them leave her immediately in fear.

“Which idiot had selected this elephant size stupid lehenga?” she closed her eyes and said through gritted teeth.

She opened her eyes to see them both pointing towards her with their index fingers. She blinked. Of course. Only, she would take all stupid decisions.

‘You only! I told you not to listen to your heart! You are complaining now!’ her mind scolded her.

‘Oye! My choice is pretty good. Why don’t you stop finding fault with me and start doing your duty by giving instructions to her eyes and legs to do their work properly?’ her heart chided.

She could not concentrate more on their argument because of the murmurings coming from behind her.

“You know very well hunger makes her angry”

“But, she had already finished two whole angrezi vada pav! She didn’t even give me a single piece.”

“Do you think something else is bothering her?”

“Not sure! It seems that the hotel is a very dedicated one. See, how they had even delivered to the room window by climbing the curtain rope.”

“Maybe she is stressed about her new phase of life?”

“Yes, it must be the reason. She never once ordered for me all these years.”

“Should we try to relax her with some pep talk before going to mandap?

“Sounds good! But, do you know how to order too? I am very tired after doing all this marriage work. I cannot prepare dinner tonight”

She could not concentrate on this incoherent discussion as well because of the vibration coming from her mobile kept in her secret purple bag. It made tickles in her hip and only stopped when she attended the call via Bluetooth.

“Hey, chipkali!” Shiva’s voice in her ear reminded of all those moments he came closer today. She gulped.

“Did you run again from the mandap?” he asked in a low voice, making her blink.

“I am on the way down the stairs to the mandap only” she replied in an equally low voice.

“Are you climbing down the Eiffel tower? Why is it taking so long to come down two storeys?” he asked sarcastically.

Before she could come up with a wistful reply, she heard a girl chuckle on the other side and panicked instantly.

“Shiva! I think someone is eavesdropping on our call.” She warned him.

“What?” he asked in panic mode.

“Yes, I heard some female chuckle,” she clarified.

“Oye Sherlock Holmes, it must be the two useless bodyguards of yours.” He said lazily, making her confused.

‘I received the chuckling sound through the Bluetooth only’ her mind stated in an expert voice.

‘Are you sure about it? Maybe you should revisit the data for confirmation!’ her heart suggested.

‘No need. I am very sure about it.’ Her mind declared.

‘Oh really? Answer quickly then. Where is Bluetooth now? Left or right ear?’ her heart asked at a fast pace.

‘Hmm… right! No, left! Left!’ her brain shouted the answer.

That’s it. Raavi decided not to listen to her brain rantings anymore and accepted Shiva’s reason.

“Okay” she replied to him slowly.

“Oye, where are you now?” he asked, changing the subject.

“32nd” she stated gaining a gasp from him.

“What? But there are only two floors in this mandap!” he raised his voice, forgetting to talk in a low voice and she winced.

“It is the number of steps” she lowered her voice even more if that was even possible and waited for the tons and tons of scolding from her bhoothnath. But instead, all she heard was a series of laughter from a bhootni. When she realized that the voice belonged to the same one which she heard the moment before, she panicked. Definitely, someone is listening to their call. Before she alerted him about this, Shiva started to speak. But, why does she need to alert him? Can’t he hear him?

“It’s not funny. Stop laughing” he said in a disapproving voice making her gasp. So he knows the person? Suddenly, she became angry at him for lying to her.

“It is funny, Shiva... OMG!!! I haven't even seen her yet... but I already love her...” The voice managed to say in between the maniac laugh, making her jealous. Her voice sounds very clear. It means she is standing very close to Shiva. She got furious thinking some other girl is standing next to her Shiva at this moment. She doesn’t even see her yet but she already hates her.

“Bhabi! You don’t know about her! She is a chipkali chudail” Shiva complained.

“Bhabi? Dhara di? Is she in the plan too, Shiva? But then how come she is saying she didn’t see her yet? Oh no! I know! I had seen it in many movies. How dare you, Shiva? How can you hit Dhara di’s head with a wooden log when she came to know about the truth? What if something severe happened to her? You don’t have brains at all, Shiva!”

“Raavi…” Shiva tried to interrupt but she kept ranting.

“Now, what to do? Oh no! What to do now? Oh god… Of course! I know it. We just need to follow the climax scene. Okay, Shiva do as I say! Just hit her head again with the same wooden log and her memory would be back. This is the best instant treatment since the 80s”

“For what? To kill?” Shiva asked annoyedly but Dhara di started laughing like a maniac again. It seems he hit her hard.

“Whose murder are you planning?” Anita di asked suddenly, making her aware of the situation.

“What?” Raavi and her mausi asked in unison while Shiva became silent on the other side. But, Dhara di is still laughing. She felt pity for her and the Pandya family. Who will manage everything now in that household? If she had gone there as a bride at least she would have handled everything.

‘This is too much!’ her mind stated.

Okay, at least half of the things.

‘Still too much’ her heart too joined the mind.

Final! A quarter of the things. She could not go any low.

“Fine!” both agreed, making her happy.

“You were murmuring something like ‘hit her head with the same wooden log’ or something,” Anita di said in a confused tone and her mausi gasped.

“Raavi beta, I just wanted to taste it and took a tiny bite. I was not planning to eat it fully, I swear” her mausi nervously explained while she got confused now. She looked down at her mausi’s hands and sure enough her mausi was holding the half-eaten third burger. She could not help but roll her eyes.

“Are you having a family lunch up there while we are all waiting for you in the mandap?” Shiva asked in a disbelieving tone. She panicked and cut the call instantly. She just hoped he would not come up to drag her down there. He has more important tasks in his hands like hitting Dhara di’s head again and making her normal. Well, no need to take risks. He is unpredictable. She decided to move forward quickly but got interrupted.

‘That was definitely not a tiny bit!’ her brain said in a disbelieving tone and her heart agreed.

Raavi examined her mausi’s terrified face and could not help but laugh out loud. Did she really think she would plan to hit her? Raavi knows she is not her mother but she is the only one who Raavi can claim as close as a mother. Would someone hit their mother like a person?

Her smile vanished. Yes, it seems there is one such person. How could Shiva do this to Dhara di who raised him as a mother does? Poor di! Just now she had hurt her leg too. But, now worse has happened - she got amnesia. He must have hit her hard. But she could not even blame him. He is the strongest one among the Pandya brothers. Even if he tried to hit her slowly, he could not do it. How many times has he twisted her hands? It’s a wonder they are still working fine. Wait a minute! How many times did he had hurt her too? This is not a good attitude to run a family. She could not help but get angry at him. What if in the future he hits her again? Who is going to help her inside the four walls? She too would end up with amnesia and start laughing in other calls… No way! She will teach him a lesson.

‘What do you mean by ‘inside four walls’?’ her mind and heart asked together.

She blinked but ignored them anyway.

‘Was she talking about the China wall? But it is only one, right?. What about the other three?’ her heart asked innocently.

‘I beg you. Just stick with emotion and feelings only. Don’t ever try to do my job, please. ’ her mind pleaded.

‘Why would I be doing it if you do that in the first place?’ her heart murmured, angering the mind.

Yes, which four walls she was thinking about? Her thought process was interrupted when her mausi phone rang.

“Yes, yes! We are coming! No problem! No need to come up… We will be down there in a minute.” she heard her mausi stammering on the call. Must be her Mausa pa on the other end. Before even her mausi cut the call, Anita di nudged her to move.

She started climbing down with Anita di and mausi behind. No one spoke. Though it is a busy marriage hall with hundreds of people down, Raavi could hear nothing. It was total silence.

‘Actually, I could still hear Mausi's munchings.’ her mind said in a confused tone.

‘For god’s sake, will you please let me have an emotional moment for two minutes straight?’ her heart shouted at her mind.

‘Oops sorry! Go on.’ her mind apologized in a low voice.

‘Leave it. My ‘earth forgetting emotional moment’ is already ruined. Let’s just hurry and be done with this wedding drama’ her heart said in a pissed-off tone.

She nodded her head with determination and started walking fast. It was so fast that Anita di and her mausi could not even keep pace with her. She could hear them calling her name behind, but she is in no mode to stop.

She reached the mandap hall first and almost went inside but stopped after seeing the blank faces of the people inside. They were all looking at her like she suddenly apparated before them. Well, if she really knows teleportation, she would disapparate to…

‘The place inside the four walls?’ her heart suggested sarcastically and her mind laughed out loud.

She gritted her teeth in anger but gasped when somebody fell on her behind. She heard many gasps from all around on seeing her about to fall. But, the same person from behind steadied her and prevented her from falling.

She was still panting hard when she turned to look at the ‘killer cum savior’ and got angry instantly on seeing her. The ‘burger thief cum killer cum savior’ Mausi stood before her with a sheepish smile.

When Raavi glared at her accusingly, she chewed her lips in nervousness.

“You only left us up there” she accused back pointing her index finger upwards.

Raavi opened her mouth but closed it back instantly on seeing Anita di signals her to stop.

“I told you, Raavi will come running to the mandap on her marriage day” she heard someone say and everyone started laughing.

“I am actually surprised that she is not standing in the street corner and inviting everyone inside to see her wedding” someone replied, earning a series of laughter again.

She rolled her eyes. Seriously?

‘It was not even a good joke.’ her heart said in an angry tone.

‘Well, let them laugh for some more time. They better get ready with various expressions since there is going to be a high voltage drama soon.’ her mind said in a sarcastic tone.

‘I hope Rishita’s dad brings police here so that these gossip ladies get scared’ her heart suggested maniacally.

‘I always know you are black deep inside’ her mind stated in an amused tone.

She could not concentrate on their banter since someone was touching her in inappropriate places. No need to panic. It’s just her di. Anita di corrected her makeup a little and turned her to face the audience.

Before she even registered who all were there in the mandap, di or mausi hit her head to bow down. She rolled her eyes but bowed down anyway. When they nudged, she started walking slowly towards the mandap. She stopped when someone stood in front of her.

“How gorgeous my Raavi looks! She is really the prettiest girl in the whole Somnath.” she heard that person saying.

This is strange! She sounded just like Dhara di sans laughing like a maniac. Does Dhara di have any sisters? She never asked her about it. Getting curious, she looked up to see and found Dhara di herself standing before her with all dressed up prettily making her gasp in surprise.

Raavi smiled widely and hugged her tight.

“You are back, Dhara di! You know how worried I was thinking about you. I am very happy now!” She screamed while swirling Dhara di along with her.

“Where did I go?” Dhara di asked in a confused tone, stopping her.

“It’s okay Dhara di. I know you would not remember. I am very happy that he listened to me and hit you again on the head to bring you back” she spoke without even taking a breath but Dhara di gasped.

“What?” Dhara di stammered.

“Who had hit my wife?” Gaumbi came running all of a sudden from nowhere.

“Sh” she could not give out Shiva’s name, since someone had hit on her head with their strong fist. Not someone. She knows very well who it was. Strong equals to Shiva. She got butterflies when she realized he was standing just two feet away.

She turned to look at him happily but he was standing there with a furiously look.

‘How much I missed seeing him!’ her heart screamed.

“Oye brainless chipkali! Stop your drama and go to the mandap.” he made action like he was going to hit her.

‘Oye! I do exist’ her mind screamed now.

But, she ignored it. She nodded her head at him in a trance and started moving forward to the mandap.

‘She is totally whipped’ her heart said in a happy tone while her mind grunted in agreement.
