I have seen a lot of posts around the forum about whether Shiva will fall for Raavi first or will it be vice versa. I personally believe and hope that it is Shiva. Raavi has already "fallen in love" once and was severely betrayed with her one-sided love.
I have to agree here. After "falling in love" and having her humiliation be aired out to everyone in Somnath, she will certainly do a much better job of guarding her heart. However, even with all the barriers she has built up, I think Shiva has always had a special place in her heart. Even now, in their marriage, she seems to be anticipating acceptance/approval from him (I won't say anymore than this as @Transference did a wonderful job describing this in the EDTs), so I think it won't take her that long to reciprocate his feelings the second she does find out. In fact, I feel that if he gave their relationship a fair chance, she might even be willing to try and accept him. (At least that's my understanding every time I see her emotions)
If she were to fall in love with Shiva first and he isn't mentally there yet, knowing his character arc he would completely and utterly break her heart even more.
So right here, I actually think he doesn't have the power to hurt her any more than he already has. I think he is fully aware of just how broken she was after the kidnapping drama. But, he has issues with communication, so he isn't able to just sit her down and say, "I would never leave you alone." Even if she were to confess to him first, I don't think he would cut her off or saying anything mean. I think he would read the emotions between the line and just be confused. He might be shocked... maybe even proud that he was able to elicit such a reaction from her, but I don't think he would break her heart. Despite telling her how much he hates her, he's been doing such a good job of protecting her in moments where she most needs it. I don't know if you know about this book? Love Languages. Raavi's love language is certainly one where she craves for open affection and grand gestures. She wants to repeatedly be told/assured that she is loved by her spouse. But Shiva's love language is more silent. He probably doesn't care for the grand gestures, he just wants comfort and acceptance. He wants his spouse to accept him for who he is. But anyway, roundabout answer, but if Raavi does confess, I think (according to what I've understood about his love language), he will accept and not break her heart for any reason. Even if she confessed today.
And because we know how passionate and intense Raavi and Shiva's relationship is, this heartbreak would be the worst and would cause the regular ITV misunderstandings that we see in other shows.
I would love to see both of them fall in love together at the same time but genuinely think that it would be better if Shiva realizes it first and confesses it first.
In my eyes, love never happens overnight (which is why I never particularly liked "Love at First Sight" romances). It happens over days, weeks, months, even years. As time passes on, they'll both see positive traits in each other. They might not know they are in love, but I think as the audience, we will know. Luckily, every time there is a festival, ITV leads fall in love faster, and since we are moving into the second half of the year, there are many festivals coming up for us (even if Holi is long into the future). But I have to agree with you, I would love it more if Shiva is the one to confess first. There's something about a man confessing his love which I just find so beautiful, and knowing the type of man Shiva is, I can't wait to see how he articulates his thoughts and emotions. As enemies, they've always had a ton to say to each other, but now as lovers? It'll be a fun confession to hear for sure!
Everyone thinks about Shiva's insecurities and how he probably thinks that Raavi won't fall in love with him but what about Raavi's insecurities. She had openly put her heart out for someone else and was sorely rejected. In her mind, she must think that since she was rejected she isn't worth someone's love. She probably needs that reassurance and who better to give it to her than her current dushman? To gain acceptance from the man that has came at her life since her childhood would be the biggest thing for her.
I think that will be part of the beauty of Shiva's confession. Raavi has a certainly unique origin story. She lost her parents at a young age, she probably missed out on a mother's love (she calls Prafulla Maasi despite living with her for her entire life, so I think there's probably just a smidgen of a barrier between them), and she missed out on the "love of her life." As they get to know each other, I think Shiva will learn this side of her, and it'll be up to him to tell her that she's worth all the love this world has to offer and more. Yes, I think it'll mean a ton for Raavi to hear these words from her current dushman, but I think it'll mean more to hear those words coming from her husband, as that means he's fully accepted her and is willing to begin their new relationship
I don't know, these were just my underdeveloped thoughts 😆
