Furthermore, Pakistan has the absurd blood money law since they are all related, they would accept blood money and case would get closed.

I remembered a dialogue from mere pas Tum ho. Adnan's rich character says he could get the poor husband m**dered for rs.30,000 in karachi. That has somehow stuck with me....

We see all these cases all the time.

You think Burhaan as char has layers ? No doubt one of well written male character but does he have layers to him ?

Ah, see that's a tricky one. I must first acknowledge that layering a good guy character who is mostly flawless and perfect is hard compared to gray characters. Snape from HP had insane arc and so did Bilal's character in Cheekh. The gray really let's you play around a lot more.

I think that Burhan does have some shades to him. Like the scene where he chose to leave instead of helping Bisma when she almost fainted upon hearing of the marriage. He could have stayed and fought but chose to not add problems to Bisma and Nashwa's plates.

When he made the mistake of involving Faryal in the marriage plans, he didn't just go and say sorry to Nashwa. He heard her then he provided a solution instead of saying he is wrong.

He also didn't say no to Faryal. He subtly hinted at the hesitance he has by not sitting and having coffee with Faryal today. He didn't feel like being polite. He appears not emotional but he will react emotionally as per OST upon hearing of Nashwa's nikkah. There is a chance that he might marry Faryal. It wouldn't be fair to a wonderful person like Faryal to marry a guy who may secretly pine away for a woman his whole life. He seems more of a realist and may not wait alone unlike Asim. Is it fair to Faryal? Is it morally okay? But can we judge him harshly and expect him to be perfect all the time? So, these things too adds to his character.

These are a few examples.

These days gray characters are idolized as a trend or a fad. This makes it not very genuine at times. The OG people who love literature and other media forms and who enjoy gray character's arc and action in appropriate storyline setting find it hard to connect with just fads or trends of these days. It makes me wonder if a few odd number of people who romanticize Nashwa and Ammar know the implications or not? Or are they enjoying the fiery and feisty dynamics, screen space and chaos and just using a wrong word to define it. I feel that spark doesn't always have to be romantic

Anyways, getting back to the topic. When a character doesn't have a lot of layering as per writing that is fine that is when the actor's acting comes in. Look at Yumna. Yeh konsi nayi story hai? Girl fighting for her rights. This and an amir gareeb love story has been the staple of South Asian screen culture for a century now. But look at Yumna's performance in ep 20 in a few minutes. She's not a gray or a very layered character. Look at the defiance when standing up to Taya, that vulnerable chat with her baba's grave, or the endearing way she teases and encourages her mom or the way she now acts reserved and distant with Burhan. You can detect and identify every emotion of hers. But the same cannot be said about Usama.

When you don't have a lot of layering because of how a character is written then expression counts a lot. Usama needed to improvise and add many different expressions but all I see is one or two expressions throughout the series. This mediocre take of an engimatic character takes a hit and makes it flat oftentimes...

I don't know if I was able to explain it. It's all over the place but yes.

Nameer is one project old. We don't know if he's going to fade or hold on or even improve. No idea as only time will tell. Khushal was good in wehshi though it was a bad play. He would have been a great Ammar. Nameer is a lahori I believe? Sometimes his urdu is a bit off and not sharp. But Usama has been here since 2017. He doesn't have the solo ML aura or capability to carry a whole project on his back through a positive or negative role. Like no matter how much I dislike Feroze as a person or his acting, he has full presence with his character and can carry projects on his back

Usama is good in parallel or long good soaps. He is not there yet. Nameer and his comparison is moot. Usama has been here since 2017 and his contemporary is Bilal Abbas and not Nameer. Bilal is exceptional. He is 11/10. He is a noman ejaz of his time. I have seen the great Faisal Qureshi and fawad Khan improve and this bilal has been good since day one.

Gohar is a great actor. And GM was a bad project maybe that's why humaiuyn didn't work. Or may be both gohar and him doesn't work the magic for Yumna. That's fine.

Also, I feel Wahaj, Bilal, Sherry may have refused to do side supporting role if QeJ was offered to them. Who knows. The story is afterall totally about Nashwa Bisma and about females in a desi society.

Also, I know for a fact that other than a few teen girls no one is hoping for Nashwa to end up with Ammar. What they're saying is clearly different from shipping or chemistry. They're using the wrong word and some are just latching onto it.

I think they want to say that the dynamic and the chaos and the screen space Nameer and Yumna share is fiery and sizzling. It doesn't at all mean they're advocating for romance. Like how Saba and Bilal has a great dynamic and sizzling presence in Cheekh. So, if Cheekh was falsely advertised as a romance genre like SMD was then that would have been a problem. People loved Saba -bilal scenes.

Rabia, Amna, kya drama hai pointed out the same thing. I disagree with many of their takes and reviews but I know Rabia and Amna wouldn't romanticize an enable of a heinous crime. They're very vocal. And neither would majority of the viewers Sans teen girls.

What some are saying is Usama is making Burhan appear bland at times. The layering is not there. He's perfect but the performance doesn't give variation hence making it boring. We know he has layers as he's written in a fabulous manner.

It's important to make it clear that people enjoy Ammar Nashwa scenes but if one was to genuinely ask a viewer in a conversation they'd tell you that they'd want her to end up with Burhan. The other option is just not it.

Also, It is frustrating for some as we know Burhan is really a stunning and beautifully written character. It's a bit lost in translation from script to screen.

Usama really lacks screen presence, and his dialogue delivery feels flat. In Saturday's episode, when he went to speak to Bisma, he delivered some shayari-like lines that Asim often says. Those poetic dialogues were beautifully executed by FR, but when Usama delivered them, they just didn't have the same impact. I was really disappointed. There are several instances where his expressions don’t match the scene, which is a huge turnoff.

As for Nameer, yes, he's only done one show so far, and he will probably improve with experience. Right now, he delivers his lines with a straight face, which makes it hard to connect with his character.

I don’t find his character very layered either. He’s either smoking, using drugs, or getting beaten by his father. When he was introduced, he came across as a rebel, but in yesterday's episode, during his conversation with his dad, he seemed more like a coward, too timid to stand up for himself.

Usama has such a beautifully written character, but his performance still feels mediocre.

Yumna is amazing, and her character is so powerful .But,she has an author backed role n this is her genre n forte. So, m not surprised with her performance.

The most surprising outcome for me is bisma.I have to give kudos to Tazeen because her portrayal of Bisma could have easily been flat and uninteresting if it were played by medicore actresses. Bisma’s character is one-dimensional — tortured, scared, and timid — but Tazeen brings it to life in a way that makes the audience empathize with her and truly feel for her.

Wow, you girls have put into words what I felt but couldn't pinpoint.

Reviewers se ziada acha analysis ap logo ka hai about performances. It's good that everyone in the older generation has been nailing their characters and have ample screentime which covers up the short coming of the younger generation.

There need to be proper papers and documents to show that Nashwa dad had any property on his name to file inheritance . People spend years and money fighting inheritance cases it isn’t easy that’s why N keeps stressing the day I land my first case we will leave this house here she means financial independence. And filing case that anything happens to me or mom B is responsible for that FIR to be filed she needs to first prove that B has/ had tried to harm them in first place else such complains are not entertained .

Just as Nashwa doesn't have proof, even Bakhtiyar doesn't have proof.

And Nashwa is Behzad daughter. And daughter only is the inherent. All the rent is coming from his land. What more proof is required.

I don't understand why she has to get married to Ammar to get bisma and asim married?

Is it so easy to get the whole family killed like people are saying that Bakhtiyar can get the entire Asim household killed 🤔.

And Nashwa still doesn't know that Bakhtiyar got Maheen killed. She still respects him. So she didn't have to be so scared.

Also Nashwa can take help from Burhan too if she keeps her ego aside. Burhan also has contacts and can definitely give her protection from Bakhtiyar.

Also how could bisma even think yest Bakhtiyar and dado will just let her go. Doesn't she know them. Infact she should have forced Nashwa to get Married to Burhan or someone else and take her along with her.

I am liking burhan character and nashwa burhan chemistry too. Yeah they don't share intense chemistry but they are like decent duo.

Though I like Usama, but somehow I just find Burhan character in QEJ a total misfit and unnecessary. Till now he has not done anything substantial. Infact Asim and Bisma are getting married not because of Burhan mehnat but because of Nashwa. He didn't do anything to get them both married. This story is basically Nashwa. Burhan character is just for lollipop romance which is not needed in this story at all because Nashwa doesn't intend to get married and has no interest in any boy. They could have just shown Nashwa struggle to get her mother and herself freed from that toxic household and living an independent carefree life with Asim or without Asim. Burhan character is not adding into the story. Burhan character could have been played as a female character too who could have been Nashwa best friend like beenish. This unnecessary romance is a total time waste. Don't understand why can't they show girls being independent and single. Why does she have to get married 😕

So Yeah, I don't Nashwa and Burhan as end game. I know she is going to get married to Ammar, but hopefully she will get divorced. After that I want her to be single and a successful lawyer.
