SMD is a case of work from home, where everyone did their job but didn't coordinate with each other

I blame 7Sky too because it was their signature project, they should have gone through multiple scripts of different writers to lock one then pick director suited for the script, editor and music department comes with the director

Even I feel like there is a lack of co-ordination between KRQ and Haseeb Hassan/7th sky...this wasn't the case when Nadeem Baig directed KRQ scripts like mere paas tum ho,pyarey afzal...

I have seen two of his shows recently, and I couldn’t watch one of them past 2 episodes and if Wahaj wasn't in SMD, I would have dropped this too

KRQ is a writer who has no sense of what a character is because there's no difference between dialogues and philosophy of a businessman and a goon, a journalist and an intern

An illiterate mother is spouting philosophy so is a school going kid

If you add this in a musical where every character speaks in riddles, it makes sense, it doesn't make any sense in a drama

I blame Geo mostly because it could have stopped, like most productions houses shoot a pilot episode then send it to stakeholders and changes are recommended, here there was no screening process

I think you are talking about gentleman...the philosophy in the show didn't make sense because the show is a crime thriller...I agree with that..but just with one show you can't judge a writer yaar..so I don't agree with you completely

I am not defending KRQ ....but having seen his past works like Mere Paas Tum Ho,Pyarey Afzal and Ek Sau Teaswan(movie starring Wahaj and Mehwish) I strongly feel writing about relationships and love is his forte,his strength..so I am interested to know what KRQ as a writer has to present to us..!! In a love story little bit of deep and philosophical dialogues make it more interesting IMO.. It makes you connect to the characters and their psyche...

I feel there is a lack of co-ordinatiin between director and writer right now.

Giving haseeb this show was the biggest mistake of kaddu uncle. He can't do modern romance, sadaf's family scenes feel like they are living in 1990s. I just hope they get done with her family ka natak by next week and focus on office romance.

Siraj or khaie director wajahat who has also directed kam3 and ishq jalebi should have helmed this project.

These days no dramas have pacing like this. KMKT was very well paced even tho it was not TB or IM. Look at Radd. It had so much content every episode and moved briskly. Even Mann Jogi was well-paced despite being an artsy show.

Even Haseeb's previous dramas like JSA and Alif were slow burn but I did not have the slow pace issues with them that I have with SMD. Yunhi was slow burn too but the pace never felt stretched. In fact, it felt soothing. Scenes got time to breathe but Ehteshamuddin did not use any of these stretching tactics Haseeb is doing.

This kind of dragging we see in SMD is what Geo typically does in second half of their dramas to stretch episode count. Take khaie, the first half was very fast paced but after e15, it all got dragged with slo-mo, pauses and fbs to stretch episode count. But at least we got 14 good episodes that had lots of plot movement and were fast paced, and that hooked audiences who then watched even the post-e15 draggy episodes. The problem with stretching from the beginning is that people don't get the chance to become hooked as you turn them off from the very start.

Not only the direction is slow but tbh the story movement is slow too especially considering nowadays people do not have the patience. Writing has depth, no doubt, but story movement is certainly an issue

it’s because of Indian audience where wahaj has huge fan base. Kabhi bhi mat sochna krq ke story ke vajh se take out wahaj and replace with some other actor half views bhi nahi aate. Episode and next promo are trending in India. How I wish it was farhat ishtiaq instead of krq.

If it was solely coz of Wajju toh 22 Qadam would have trended too. Wajju 100% is a factor but something must be clicking with the audience for sure that the episodes are getting views. Also the platform plays a role apart from the cast I guess

I just watch it as 3 Idiots

The portion with Bilal and office is very nice, it doesn't feel OTT but there is transition as we go to Sadaf’s house like there was in 3 Idiots when they went to Raju's house

Mother's reaction on hearing that it was Bilal who gave 8cr to Sadaf was such a 60s bollywood movie scene
