It was actually quite obvious that both characters played by the leads were on the spectrum. But it being PTV this would of course not be addressed in the drama. But yes it was certainly written this way, on purpose or not I don’t know.
In terms of performance though PKS, Yumna and Bilal both delivered a solid and memorable performance. Critically acclaimed and loved by audience alike.
Though she was a supposed negative character but many including me could sympathise with her character that shows here acting prowess. She really stood out in the show for her exceptional performance and portrayed the emotions so well.

Not just mein, her performance in cc was highly appreciated. She has the epic blockbuster show of ptv with a trp of 37 and many other successful shows in her kitty. No wonder she's the number 1 and most successful actress of ptv.
Between the two I prefer Ayeza.
Yumna ne kafi baar overacting ki hai n esp in Pyaar Ke Sadkay.

The writing doesn't support the narrative of them being on spectrum, it was Yumna's performance which made you feel that way, she didn't do it well and overacted the naive part of it
Ayeza did it with MJ too in first half of Mein, it is obviously due to lack of inclusive education, most media people in South Asia don't understand the implications of exaggerated or insensitive portrayal of people on spectrum
Last time there were 120 votes, yaha 20 log nahi hai
Ayeza is winning so I don’t know

Mein is much bigger hit in terms of YouTube numbers and TRP than PKS, PKS finale TRP was 1.2 and it was in top 10 once
Ayeza has critical acclaim with Mein
Lekin drama to barbad hi tha because they didn't reunite Zaid with Aira
Maine dekha pura kis liye?

The writing did support them being on the spectrum especially Abdullah’s specific interests and talents and both characters social deficits in relation to others. That’s why I said writer probably created some ignorant mix of disorders instead of realising what she was doing.
When I was watching it was pretty obvious keh both actors played it on the spectrum deliberately.
Oh yeah! Don't get me started on Ayeza Khan! Sure, she had a fair share of boring dramas (let's be honest, not everything hits the jackpot), but here's the thing: she's my favourite. There's this magic she has on screen, you know? It's like you're watching the character come alive, not someone who is pretending.
And the best part? She's never the same! Every role is a complete transformation. From the way she carries herself to how she speaks, it's like watching a different person each time. Yes, MJ as a character was called villain by Ayeza. But still I was on her side. Her acting was phenomenal! She's amazing at these complex roles, the ones where you're not sure if you love them or hate them. She did negative and grey as well. Then comic one, Chupke Chupke is a perfect example, right? Totally unexpected but incredible. Ayeza's one of the few who brings characters to life in a way that feels real, not staged.
