If its murtu-- I would say it was protectiveness >>>> possesiveness here. At that time, meeru was his dad's friend's daughter whose life decisions were made by MB n Anwar and murtu was made to be her protecter. So in their culture, I dont think d females would be allowed to attend a party organized by their friends. We can see MB not allowing maryiam to visit her friend's house. That is d rules of their family but unfortunately meeru was d daughter of d house. He couldnt just let her party like that, so he behaved like that.
