Keeping aside Ali Rehman Khan and just speaking of Bakhtiyar

He looks so fake

The way he adds Huzoor to Shahmir's name and speaking Urdu not a word of English. Pledged myself to the gaddee playing messenger and jasoos Somewhere I feel his accent is also gone on vacation

Shahmeer's murder was actually shocking. I was not expecting it.

Overall, the premise of the drama was actually good. However, it failed to make the impact it should have made because the execution was flawed.

I feel the blame goes to the director. Khizar Idrees is/was originally a cinematographer/DOP. He does this job brilliantly without any doubt. One can not ignore the aesthetical value of various shots even in Badshah Begum. However, as a sole director, as yet, he is not capable of handling a big project. He can do short films and music videos, but clearly, he can't deal with a drama serial with a big cast at this point. I felt this in Lapata and I'm feeling this in Badshah Begum. I feel he should work as an assistant director under the supervision of some expert director like Kashif Nisar for a few years to learn the craft and then venture into a standalone project as a director. I do believe if Badshah Begum was directed by Kashif Nisar and Khizar Idrees had only worked as a DOP then it would be a masterpiece.

This drama actually had potential but unfortunately it was not executed well.

More than the direction the casting was also bad

I didn't feel for any of the characters

They wasted too much time on the love triangle.And too many inconsistencies. Like such a powerful family but only one or two bodyguard to protect them. Not even a male foetus is allowed in Badshah begum's presence(1st epi) but she can attend wedding as long as she is shielded by a transparent purdah

I was rather interested in Shazaib-Zulekha and Shameer-Gulnar equation. They could've done so much with Gulnar's character w.r.t Shameer. A naive and forgiving ruler like Shamir needed Gulnaar who has faced the ugly side of each of his family members

But instead of focusing on them they killed the only sane and kind character of this drama.

Exactly that pardah thing was so disappointed. Badshah begum was not supposed to meet any men outside her family. But she met bakhtawar numerous times, also met qaiser and others. she never took care of any pardah. That transparent curtain is of no use.

Knew they woud eventually kill Shahmeer. But the way he was killed is really stupid. They should have more creativity.

Peera Pur, Gadhi, Badshah Begum uffff thaak gaye yeh words sunn sunn ky.

Shahmeer ky saath saath shah alam bhi maar giya. I did not like such easy ending for shah alam. He deserved punishment for his deeds. He is responsible for everything happening in peera pur. He was just a selfish being. Who never thought about his kids.

I did not get zulekha's reaction of shahmir's death. Iska husband toh nhi tha 🥴

It's enough now, it should get end. From next episode promo, it seems that jahan ara will escape with majnu. And shahzaib will be shooted but aisa hona nhi..jahan ara will be kidnapped by qaiser and then maybe shahzaib will rescue her.
