Where did the award say that this is for representing Pak Industry. It is clearly written that he got the award for Khoobsurat. International Icon Award is actually awarded when you have done some extraordinary work on international level. What has Fawad done? took off his shirt in Khoobsurat? Why didn't Ali Zafar get this award who has done more work internationally and even much more recognized "all over the world" than Fawad. I understand that you like Fawad but why are you trying to justify something which is unjustifiable.

And even your argument about Fawad Khan is just so flawed... he is not the one who drew viewers to Pak dramas, the dramas Humsafar, ZGH and Daastan did. Those dramas are the work of the whole team. Whole team deserves credit for those dramas. If Fawad Khan is such a magnet and if only he is to be recognized then show the international viewers "Ashk" and "Numm" and "Jutt and Bond" and what not and then see who views Pakistani dramas because of Fawad Khan only. Even you who is trying to justify this crap wouldn't want to watch Ashk twice. Beherhaal this discussion is fruitless, no point arguing about something this baseless.

@bold: Once again, he did not get the award for being famous because of Pak dramas or working in Pak dramas or representing Pak dramas or industry or promoting Pak dramas or industy. He got the award for Khoobsurat. It is an Indian movie.

There are two things.
1. Getting an award for Pakistani work and representing Pakistan internationally (Like Shahrukh Khan as you mentioned)
2. Getting an award for International work and representing Pakistan internationally (like Anil Kapoor got recognition for his international work in IIFA)

He did not get an award for his Pakistani dramas. So please stop mentioning Pakistani dramas.
And his international work is not commendable.

Now if you are talking about popularity that he got the award because he is the most famous Pakistani celebrity worldwide then it is debatable. You live in India and India is not the world. Besides India, people know Fawad Khan in Middle East and some South Asian countries at most. In fact even this is debatable that Fawad is most famous Pakistani celebrity in India.

Why don't you go and search who are the most famous celebrities of Pakistan internationally *hint IMDb*

So proud and happy for Fawad Khan being honored and respected by his country, he deserved it.. I am so glad that Momina herself was there on the stage with him, he surely is the only reason why most of the non pakistanis ever started watching and following Pak dramas... Even a farhat ishtiaq or an Umera Ahmed is known to us because they had written his shows which we discovered out later on, and even the way he has represented Pakistan on a global platform is amazing, because the international viewers are so impressed by Fawad that the whole pakistani industry and their dramas are assumed to be as classy as him..
