Daam was a success story all round, even side characters (like Zara's younger sister) remain memorable. Just wish Zara hadn't ended up with Humayun Saeed :-(

Have you seen some of Adeel's comedies like Canteen kahani, golimaar? It's more slapstick, but he's good in them too :-) Unfortunately only some videos are available on youtube of these shows...

I also loved the most recent Candi biscuits ad of Adeel's (with Hamza Ali Abbasi), it's superb.

PS - Thanks for giving me a chance to gush about Adeel :-)

She didn't get them cut off, she refused to do them 😆 She only agreed to hand holding that too after Mehreen pacified her.

Adeel was indeed an endearing Ibaad. I haven't read MeJ either..but for some reason, Adeel just seemed like a good Ibaad. There were certain issues I had with MeJ, but I didn't find Adeel being casted as one of them..actually far from it. I have not read MeJ so I'm not sure if someone who has read the novel agrees or not..but I felt that way nonetheless. Sarwat on the other hand just didn't seem right for Hania..even though acting wise, her performance was a little more well rounded than Adeel's. Adeel and Sarwat hardly had any chemistry and that was disappointing...especially since that's what was needed for the show.

I didn't really like Humayun's appearance in Daam..😆, but I was fine with Zara ending up with Hassan...only because it made sense. Though Zara and Junaid were something else altogether and I would've loved them\ in the end as well..but strictly given Zara and Junaid's circumstances, Zara made the right decision in my opinion.

by the way, what did you think of Adeel as Zeeshan in Subh Ka Sitara? I wish the show was good..and Romaisa? yikes - lame. 😆 but Zeeshan was wonderful. As you put it, Adeel tends to shine even when the show overall isn't that great. Zeeshan at times even reminded me of Junaid..perhaps their sensibilities were similar?

Oh no, I haven't seen those comedy shows of Adeel...will try catching it though. I wasn't sure if they were good or not.

I don't think Sarwat and Adeel even got along during the shoot. Something was just off about both of them together.

I'm not sure if you mean that in a positive or negative sense? 😆

Oh, I see! They both just looked so awkward, I think they had an arm's distance between them in most scenes 😆

Well I can't choose a single performance 😆. MeJ may not have been a big success but I liked Adeel as Ibad. He was brilliant in Daam, an excellent performance given by him in that show. In MSKSH and Shukk he proved his worth, his acting was really powerful in both dramas. Thats another story that Shukk turned from a hit to a super flop and Subh ka Sitara had many faults but he managed to emerge as a great actor in both.

I agree that Zara's decision was correct for her circumstances. I wish Hasan was played by someone else not Humayun! May be for that tiny role they didn't bother finding someone. Zara was right in trying to move on and put her past behind her. Sanam Baloch - Adeel chemistry really clicked - coming to think of it, they didn't have a lot of scenes together actually! But each scene and dialogue was special.

Subh ka sitara - For me Zeeshan was the best thing about this show. The way he interacted with Maham, his exasperation with Romaisa (just notice his interaction with Romaisa when she is married to Nabeel and then see how different it is after he marries her) - very subtle and nuanced performance from Adeel. I don't know why people say he is expressionless! Zeeshan and Junaid were both decent, sensible guys and Adeel suits such characters 😊

The comedy show are ok-ish from content point of view, but he has a funny bone ( as we saw in the Mahira Khan TUC interview). I am looking forward to Mehreen's Jackson Heights where he plays Jamshed.

I do wish we saw Adeel more, but I like it that he prefers quality more than quantity and tries to do different roles as much as possible, I was told he was very good as an RJ, may be he should do a talk-show type thing?

I'm not quite sure either.
But I like to be unique and different, so I'll pick Jiya Na Jaye and Silvatein.
