Well guys I heard alot of good comments from so many of you above and to my knowledge I think people living in cities have advanced so much in everyday life by copying western culture that they have totally forgot the majority of people who work under hot sun all day just to keep food on their table. Sure the media has grown up alot but let's not forget the sponsor's of media like GEO and ptv are those rich politicians sitting in goverment. so media isn't going to harm any of them.
Also I have lived in Pakistan for a long time and right now I am in USA getting education, education is so costly in Pakistan that Majority of people cannot afford to send their children to school. See we can live without the education but not without food and that's Nizame Qudrat. The mindset of our young generation has set in a way that they think that by copying western culture they look more civilzed. See History provides the evidence as it goes along that
"People that follow footsteps of Others always stay behind than those who are leaving behind the marks. But the the people who learn good things from those who are better and move on and choose their own path are the one that we call over achievers."
Basically our new generation is just blindly following the west and forgetting who we are; which is a sign of disaster. Sure there are good things we can learn from west but they r not perfect either and this is what People don't understand.
And as about Pakistan's development. If there was any development than there would be electricity, gas tv, phone and free education in every town, Mohalla and corner. But I don't see that hapening not even in near future so I would say Pakistan is still where I left off and as long as we still have those politician running our country for their oun interests; Pakistan will stay the same.

Any country with beggers in it is Developing...whether it be India or Pakistan...

We need to clean our countries first from the corruptions...only then will our countires not be developing...

but there are beggers in US and Uk too!! its just that their begging style is different.

if u go to Downtown of any big city, u will see many many ppl on streets. begging, or homeless. or have big posters in their hands. with the message on it.

you see Our Beggers from india and pakistan are different....they have missing body parts...

why? because of REGULAR bombings and gang work... Bombings do not occur regularly in America....

so the beggers in America CHOOSE be to beggers because they cannot deal with their problems and are addicts of drugs and other stuff...and beggers in India or Pakistan are beggers because of circumstances...

assalam-o-alaikum
as a citizen of pakistan i must say that pakistan is developing but as the foreigners (who havent visited pakistan for a long time)wre saying that it is not developing is incorrect because if we observe in deepness the educaton of female s very important because a literate mother can generate a literate nation so nowadayz in villages (i m sayin because i've seen)the girls are getting educaton before 10 or 15 years lady ws suppose to b the vitm of karokari and vani because she was unaware of her rights in past women was married with quran(naozobllah)and women ws unable to say but now f sum 1 force her she may call media or lawyer this is basic development if u are thinkn about tall buildings and towers it will also happen here but it wll take time the good thing is that now we hav completed 1st step

I think it is wrong to criticize pakistani youth from adopting western fashion! Why is it that those of us born and raised in western countries can enjoy the benefits of a western culture (wearing jeans, media etc) and still retain our culture/heritage but if pakistani youth in pakistan start to "copy" western culture it somehow becomes wrong. Many western born pakistani's have a stereotypical view in their minds as to what a pakistani born person should be like.....pakistan is like any other country and ppl have the right to express themselves nyway they want. Muslims girls should encourage other muslim girls to wear decent clothes and hijab by example rather than criticing them.

I think to determine if Pakistan is developing or not depends on ecomomic growth, tackling poverty, decent government etc not petty things like adopting western fashion.

i dont mean to criticize or offend nyone here....

of course you can comment. the moderator doesn't want any discrimination in terms of india vs. pakistan, etc. pakistan growing or not should be measured in its own terms and not be compared to other countries.
