TV shows on ragging haven't been an exception. Various shows depicting the similar themes have been played from time to time. Gumrah on Channel has also shown a lot of episodes on ragging and it is still on air. Channel V's latest offering 'Paanch - Don't Get Mad, Get Even is also based on the similar lines. However this show has taken a fabulous start and indeed shows a lot of Promise.
Paanch produced by Sunshine Productions(Miley Jab Hum Tum, Na Bole Tum na Maine Kuch Kaha) is a story of 18 year old Girl Roshni who joins a college to get revenge from five seniors, the seniors who are responsible for the death of Roshni's elder sister. Roshni believes that she was tortured and ragged to death by the five seniors. Roshni takes admission in the same college to get revenge.
The plot is not new for the audiences, yet it was a challenge to recycle it impressively for the taste of today's youth. And we think the makers have succeeded in the job if we take the first two episodes into consideration. The show is seasonal and carries a journey of 52 episodes only. The show is running with a fast pace, that gives us the idea from the first episode where Roshni already takes the admission to her late sister's college itself.
Coming to the cast, the names have not been revealed by the channel or the show makers. We will have to wait for sometime but the actors are just fine. The girl who plays Roshni, is terrific in a complicated role. she carries a big responsibility on her shoulders as the show revolves around her. she carries it off just fine. The Actress who plays 'Neha' and the one who plays 'Gauri' are efficient as well. Supporting cast also gives a decent support.
All in all, the beginning of the show promises a lot. We hope the creative team of the show keeps the story intact keeping the viewers hooked. 'Paanch' is also considered to be the finest show from all the newly shows launched by Channel V.
According to a report, it was known that Channel V had opted for this show instead of Miley Jab Hum Tum season 2. Both of which had to be produced by Sunshine productions. Paanch shall be a bi-weekly instead of a daily show.
