Hi Madhu,

All these days I was thinking that I should be familiar with the characters like ACD and Priya and others....so I was not really reading this thread. But whenever I get time time I was just browsing.....here and there..( my true confession)

But one day serial 123 told about this thread of yours Today I am so free after posting the send off "kondaattam" in Commedy Kalakkals page for Kams.So I started reading this from chapter 1 and I have finished until 5. ( non stop)

And.....I regret that I missed reading all these days this great story. Sooopppppero....sooper. And you know what? I saved until your last chapter 17 in word doc. I have taken a print out of all the pages and I am going to read ....like a book....
Wonderful story.....there is so much depth in your story...much better than these normal boring serials...

Chapter 18

An auto and a call taxi arrived at the same time in front of the single storey house. Uma and Kathir got out of the auto and call taxi respectively……they saw each other with a fixated look, there was no fear or confusion or tears or restlessness in their looks. They paid for their rides and walked towards each other, there was an unforeseen calmness, peacefulness in their eyes…….but their hearts were filled with contenment….they had got what they wanted, each other.

Together they walked towards the house, Uma opened the door , "vaanga……enna kudikareenga", she stammered , the calmness she had just a a few seconds before had vanished as she came to a realization that afterall now they were inside the house and only two of them were present. Kadhir nodded his head in negative and asked Uma to sit down. Uma sat down with her head bowed down….there was pin drop silence in the room…..neither could belive that just an hour before, they had had an emotional heart wrenching conversation and now they were sitting silently as if they were meeting for the first time. But both of them savored these moments, there was silence…

.but the silence spoke a trillion words when there was a sudden thunderstorm…Uma shuddered in shock….there was strong winds blowing outside…and one of the windows was beting itself to the walll in the wind, Uma stood up and walked towards the window. She tried to close the window….but she failed to get hold of it…….when she sensed kadhir behind her…He tried to get hold of it…but it wouldn't budge….cmon…..he managed to and put the lock. Uma was totally mesmerized at his closeness, she had to admit though she was married before…it was only now she could feel the gratification behind it. Not that she was not true to her husband Balaji, but life with Balaji was only about sacrifice, family, duty, commitment……she never experienced the essence of love and sensuosness , but Kathir just standing near her was bringing it out all.All this while he had been standing so close to Uma, as he locked in the window…he noticed a pair of eyes staring at him….he looked to meet her in the eye…wasn't this was he was longing for since he knew what love was. It was the perfect moment for a kiss….but kathir did not want to, he didn't mind missing it….afterall she was going to be his forever and he wanted everything to be perfect and right for her. She has been through so much in life, from now all he wanted her to see was happiness.

Oruvelai nee enna yethukkama irunthiruntha…naan santhoshamave irunthiruppen……aana nichiyama innoru kalyanam panni irukka maaten. Many men say this and after a few years they move on….but she knew that kathir wouldn't have done it. She felt every word of his was true. She nodded her head….enakku theriyum kathir, ungala pathi enakku nalla theriyum….both smiled ..but this time they had tears in their eyes. They had maintained a dignified distance between themselves…….they didn't have the urgency to kiss or hug…and wanted to take things slowly. Kathir, namma Charu madam kitta namma vishiyatha sollidanum….enakku romba kashtama irukku, etho avangala emathra maathiri irukku. The word "namma" really gave a kick for Kathir and he told Uma that before leaving here he had already spoken to Charu aunty and she completely understood him and she had no anger toward either Kathir or Uma. Uma was relieved now…she would also to talk to madam about it …….

Kathir walked up to her and held her hands reassuringly and gently wiped her tears ….lifted up her chin….looked at her deeply and "nee enna balajiyaave nenachukka, I am lucky that I can step in the shoes of an courageous army man and take care of his wife".

As they were sharing this emotional moment, a car pulled up in front of the house and Durai, priya and her dad got out. Kadhir and uma hearing the noise wiped their eyes and walked up to the door. They all greeted each other and Kadhir congratulated Priya and Durai. You guys make a very nice couple, enna priya…enna kalyanam pannikka matennu sonnathu…ivarukkaga thaana….Priya blushed…Durai felt proud and was smiling in joy. Priya;s dad was very happy and contented…he looked at both the couples and he went to the pooja room to thank god. Priya and Uma went to make dinner and Kathir informed uncle that his parents were coming the next day to meet him. "Anna..anniya ponnu parka vareengala, enna piudavai kattanumnu neengale select panni kuduthutu poidunga, illainna nalaikku neenga varappa anni thalayila mudi irukkathu", priya yelled from the kitchen. "Priya, kathire oru one hour munnala vanthu pudavaya katti vittalum ..achariyam illa ", Durai teased after making sure that uncle had goneint ohis room. Uma was blushing now and so was kathir…..Duri sir, experience pesutha? athuthaan intha veetu pazhakamna one hour munnadiye vanthidaren….enna Uma?" . Everyone broke into laughter…there was so much joy and happiness…could they sense future…no they cannot…they had no clue at the rude shock they were going to experience the next day.
