Chapter 17
By now Kathir was coming close to the trio, but his eyes was still fixated on Uma. Hello kathir, eppadipa irukka…china vayasula paarthathu. Kathir smiled at Charu, naan nalla irukken aunty. Neenga ellam nalla irukeengala? We are doing very good, Kathir meet my long lost but recently found daughter Abirami…. Abirami greeted him with a handshake.
Of course Uma pathi naal solla vendiyathilla…Uma greeted him with a faint smile…Kathir held up his hand for a handshake, Uma reluctantly raised her hand. Kathir tightened his grip in her hand and looking at her meaningfully shook her hand , "Nice to meet you again Uma". Uma did not have words….she was tensed, but did not cease to admire him…..his secretive smile, his striped polo t-shirt , the same gold chain on his neck, his intermittent glances….she was so familiar with his mannerisms now........but all this could be someone elses…the thought pushed her back to her sense.
Abirami engaged Kadhir in a conversation about his company was walking in the front. Uma and Charu were walking behind them. Uma had often dreamt about how they were going to meet and how she was going to let him know her feelings…but all that was in jeopardy now….she felt defeated and pathetic. She couldn't stand it anymore…..Kathir was half heartedly listening to what was abi was saying, all his thoughts were on his angel walking behind him like a beaten puppy. His heart went out to her, she does not deserve this, she cannot be treated this way, I have to find a solution to make it right. For now he decided to play along and once he was alone, he would call his parents and let them know.
Abi and kathir looked back and they saw Uma waving to CHaru going in a different direction. Ennamma, Uma enga pora…..abi asked, Etho personal work irkunnu pora. Kathir knew that Uma wanted to avoid him, he looked back and saw Uma looking back at him. The car pulled up and the driver loaded his luggage. He faked a headache and requested Charu to drop him off in the hotel.
After dropping him off at the hotel, Charu's car zoomed towards their bungalow. Somehow charu felt that this was not going to work, she didn't see a positive look on his face when he saw Abi…is it because she is a divorcee? She had to wait ….for his answers.
At the hotel room, Kathir was on the phone with his mother. He was a man of action….he had all plan set in his mind. He told his mom all about Uma and asked her to come and see her and he had no plans whatsoever to meet or marry ABirami. His mom was a pious good woman unlike her dad who thought about business all the time. He wasn't happy with Priya's family after their alliance did not work out. He had heard rumours in his office about Kathir and Uma, but he had no inclination to get them married. One of the business tycoons son marrying a widow…he couldn't digest it. Kathir was begging his mom Sumathi to talk to his dad. Sumathi agreed and said she would call back….his mom called back and happily said that his father had agreed to meet Uma. Kathir was happy….now his next job was to meet Uma and get her feelings straight from her heart…he didn't expect ito the me a romantic meet like how he had dreamt of. He pulled out the gifts and jewellery he had brought for her.
He pulled his laptop out and searched for priya's email with Uma's cell number. He took a nice shower and pulled on his best pair of Dockers and a casual shirt. Room service had just brought in his breakfast He finished his breakfast and all powered up, he dialed Uma;s cell number. Hello….a feeble voice from the other end answered…
U: Sollunga kathir….enna vishayamnu seekirama sollunga, enakku velai irukku. Uma's voice transformed suddenly into a business like tone.
Kathir was silent for a minute…..Uma's heart was skipping a beat……she opened her mouth again to say something when….

Kathir continued……….he was determined to melt Uma's heart down. ….each and every poetry he recited to her came deep from his heart. He meant every word of it.
On the other hand, uma who was determined so far was beginning to give in….she coulnt keep the sterness in her voice anymore…..she couldn't control her self anymore
