hi people,

The days are floating by in a haze and in their myriad colors and moments i am floating, whiling the tick tocks away.i have been revisiting a few favourite films and enjoying them with perverse pleasure.

one film forrest gump has stuck with me as have its dialogues and scenes.here are a few which make sense and at the same time touch you and leave you feeling melancholic about this journey called life.

"Forrest Gump: My Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on."

Forrest Gump: My momma always said, Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

"Jenny Curran: Do you ever dream, Forrest, about who you're gonna be?
Forrest Gump: Who I'm gonna be?
Jenny Curran: Yeah.
Forrest Gump: Aren't-aren't I going to be me?"

"Forrest Gump: Will you marry me?
[Jenny turns and looks at him]
Forrest Gump: I'd make a good husband, Jenny.
Jenny Curran: You would, Forrest.
Forrest Gump: ...But you won't marry me.
Jenny Curran: [sadly] ... You don't wanna marry me.
Forrest Gump: Why don't you love me, Jenny?
[Jenny says nothing]
Forrest Gump: I'm not a smart man... but I know what love is."

"Jenny Curran: His name's Forrest.
Forrest Gump: Like me.
Jenny Curran: I named him after his daddy.
Forrest Gump: He got a daddy named Forrest, too?
Jenny Curran: You're his daddy, Forrest."

Backhanded Comments

When you hear these comments don't assume their positive sound is all they intend to be. Backhanded comments really are a kicker.

"That dress is lovely; it does wonders for your figure."

"You're smarter than you look."

"You drive very well, for a woman."

"Your son is more handsome than I would have expected."

"You are attractive, for your age."

"You're actually kinda cute now that I've gotten to know you."

"You're not as heavy as people think you are."

"I don't care what anyone says about you, I think you are a fabulous person!"

"You don't sweat that much for a fat girl!"

"I'm amazed by the level of success readers have after following your advice."

"Your plastic surgeon has such a delightful sense of humor!"

"Relax, sweetie... you were perfectly adequate."

"You're more of a "street smart" kind of guy."

"You're not the kind of girl guys date; you're the kind of girl they marry."

"You're so evolved…for a man."

Today marks the sixth death anniversary of actress Vaishnavi of Muhurtham/ Malargal serial.
This date is still fresh in my mind as it was also the same date I accidentally visited india forums for the first time, as a silent reader.
A lot has happened since then, but Vaishnavi's infectious smile and her role as Janani in "Muhurtham" remain unforgettable.
May Her soul rest in peace.
And may her family find strength once again as they must today remember this tragic day in their lives.

Nice of you to remember her Spain. I can never sympathize with people who opt to end their lives - whatever justification they give for their act -
and I believe that one needs more courage to commit suicide. If only they could use that courage positively. My heart goes out to her parents - what did they do to deserve such a sorrow??

I usually can write a few words during such strange moments...
but I realise it is useless and futile...so I won't attempt to do it.
Sometimes, words can only offer so much...but silence can say a whole lot more.
Such impulsive deaths are every parent's worst nightmare to live through...because in their ears they can still hear their child's voice calling out to them.
They watched you take your first breath in life and they would never dream you might take your last breath before them.
It is a lifetime of devastating pain.
Love comes in all shapes and sizes, doesn't it?
When we are ready to tell someone we love them...they are not ready to listen.
When we want someone to tell us we are loved...they are too busy doing other things.
It is true for the parent-child bond as well.
Sometimes we need to tell and we need to be told...because even a mother's love of nearly 20 years can be taken for granted in one moment of madness.
Still, I sincerely hope Vaishnavi's parents are on their path towards healing for their personal loss.

Hi,
I finally got to see kahaani and was bowled over by the film and the direction. The general public only see the actors and
hear the music and mostly attribute success to those two factors. But in reality it is the director who steers the ship and brings the whole project safely to shore.Thankfully today directors, cinematographers, art directors are as famous as the stars who act in films and also the sad but true facts that actors are not as good-looking,well mannered and brave has been slowly revealed to the general public.well i guess all that is besides the point for in the end kahaani is a good movie and a time well spent. But isn't that all we want and expect when we go into the cinema hall alone or with friends and family. All the audience wants to do is spend 2 to three hours being entertained by anyone or any story but as long it is said well. There my dear friends is where most directors fall short or drastically screw up for they think they can get away by cleverly packaging shit with four to five slickly made mtv style songs, four to five jaw dropping stunt scenes which luckily is well done by stunt men and not the actors and some double meaning dialogues by today's fav comedian.so when the final product finally lands on the screen it is no wonder the film flops and leaves the audience wondering if they had seen the film before.obviously some of our heroes look the same in all roles they play, dress the same way and in the end act miserably the same way and how are we supposed to digest that.Gone are those days when audiences would lap up whatever was dished out and now they are ready to dish out criticisms left right and center.

The film kahaani differs from all the crap i have sadly stated above and starts with a bang and never lets go until the end which is a even bigger bang and leaves you exclaiming goddamn where did that twist come from. But honestly my eyes were only on vidya balan and i have to confess that i have truly, deeply and madly fallen in love with her.Wow,vidya or bidya as she is called in the film really does carry the film on her beautiful shoulders and no wonder the movie is such a resounding success.I wonder what those south indian directors who kicked her out of their films citing reasons that she was a bad actress do with their egos and brains.maybe me thinks she didn't agree to the casting couch which the director had brought for the producer or the hero.Anyway vidya balan has carried her role to perfection and don't be surprised if she is nominated for many awards this year.Siiigh i wonder if kareena could have done this role better.maybe and then again maybe not for there again you have another brilliant actress who instead of acting in at least one good film a year rather prefers to prance with agents and ra one's.well i guess it is her choice, its just that she is such a damn good actress who is wasting her talents. Now the gentleman who plays the role of KHAN an intelligence officer has taken the role by the throat and done a great job, really matching strides with vidya balan. All the other actors including the chap who plays the role of satyoki, the kid who brings chai to vidya's room have done justice to their roles.Surprisingly kolkotta where the film plays out is faded in the background and i was dissapointed for i thought i would get a free tour via the film.Chalta hai,for in the end i left the cinema hall with a sense of satisfaction and pangs of love.Is vidya balan on facebook.

If you are a train commuter this may help you.

Railway authorities have introduced a system where one can complain from a running train. The SMS about complaint will be acknowledged and attended. Give the train no, bogie no, precise nature of complaint- no water in bath room/ no lights/fan not working/security problem or whatever thru SMS. It is an effective tool. The Railway Number to which you can SMS is 8121281212 . Please pass on this message to your friends and it may help someone in need.

It's all I have to bring to-day,
This, and my heart beside,
This, and my heart, and all the fields,
And all the meadows wide.
Be sure you count, should I forget, --
Someone the sum could tell, --
This, and my heart, and all the bees
Which in the clover dwell.
