Sai says no to 'Mamta'

Sai Deodhar, better known as Flight Lt Monika in Star Plus'Saara Akash, has decided not to do the forthcoming Zee show, Mamta due to date problems.

"Initially the show was supposed to be aired three days a week, later they told me that it would be a daily...that is shooting for, like, 30 days a month. A bit too much for me. You know, that is too stressful for anybody!" exclaims Sai, who is going through a number of scripts and says that there are a few projects that are in the pipeline.

So was the parting amicable? "Yes, it was. They appreciated the fact that I had been honest about it at the outset. It is no use continuing to do something and create problems after the serial goes on air. It was a nice character and I don't blame them. This way both parties don't suffer," says Sai, who had done a few episodes of Star One's Siddhanth, were she played a fiery journalist.

Sai had seemed very excited about doing Mamta a couple of weeks ago (Click here for related story). It is a pity that she has decided to opt out of it. Anyway, we are sure to see more of her in the year ahead.
