Past in Bangalore..

"zzz."the door bell buzzed..

Karthik was just came out from his morning shower drying out his wet hair..as it was Sunday he has taken his own time to take bath...

He went out to look who was the visitor...Raji was standing there with her usual cheerful grin..

"sir...Courier .." she said in a grunt voice imitating a male voice. Swaying an envelope in her hand..

His face beamed as soon as seeing her smiling face.. his heart fluttered all of a sudden and his lips curved to form a grin on its own as if her smile was contagious..

"Why I am grinning like a fool..? and what's with this crazily pounding heart..?and why she is suddenly looking like a fairy with a magical wand just dropped from the fairy land...?no.. crazy..crazy...I am going crazy..."he mentality whacked himself and snapped out of his incredible imagination and he took a deep breath and pressed his heart tightly to calm down his rapidly beating heart..after gaining some composure ..

"Yenna idhu?"he asked in his typical Hitler voice..

"Letter to MR Karthik Ravi kumar ."

"idhu yeppadi unkitta vandhadhu..?"

"indha pakkamaa vandhen courier man address thedittu irundhaaru..yenga veedu dhaan kudungannu vaangittu vandhuten.."she said in a boasting voice...

"oh..sari kudu.."he took that cover from her.. checked his name on the top..he looked back at Raji..and crunched his brows..

" adhaan kuduthutalaa?innum yaen nikkura?kelambu..madhiyam full book test irukku niyaabagam irukkula?"he said in a threatening voice..

"Aamaa indha veerappu,bhandhaavukku onnum kuraichal illai..oruthi ivlo akkaraiyaa namakku letter kondu vandhu kudukaraale nu oru thanks solla vendaam..sari thanks vendaam..atleast ippadi verataama irukalaam la..sariyaana Hitler..sidu moonji.."she chided him in mind..

He smirked seeing her peevish face..

"Raji..thanks...podhumaa...u can leave now.."he said with a smile and opened the cover to see what is inside while he walked inside..

He took out the some papers inside that envelope..and opened that to read it..

"yenna letter idhu?"yaaru anuppi irukaa..chennai la irundhu vandhirukku appo unga appa anupi irukaara?"

He was taken a back with the sudden sound from behind..he jerked back while seeing Raji was peeping at the letter leaning closely from the back..

He covered the letter before she peek in further and glared at her sternly raising his one brow..

"What?"

"illai indha internet kaalathula yaaru letter laam poduvaangannu chumma oru aarvathula..andha letter la yenna irukku..?"she asked fluttering her lashes innocently...

"idhula yenna irundhaalum..It has nothing to do with u..so pls leave.."he showed her a way out..

She pouted heavily..

"chummaa veratturadhulaiye kuriyaa irukaaru..konja neram naan inga irundhaa ivarukku yenna prachanai yam.."she whined and turned to leave..

"Raji.." he called her again.

Her face lit up immediately and turned to his side with a glee in her eyes..

"mmm.."

"Prepare well for the exam..ok.."he said with a smirk..

Her face fell down as if a blown out balloon..

"ok.ok..."she muttered in a peevish voice and stomped off huffing..

Later in Raji's house..

Raji was writing her math exam and karthik was reading a book with a grim face glancing Raji at times..ignoring her grumpy face completely..

After two hours she finished her test ...karthik corrected the paper..actually he was quiet satisfied with her presentation..but he didn't show that openly..he put on a magnifying glance look and found even mistake here and there..and taunted her..

"See how many silly mistakes ?at this rate how could you score centum..you have to work on ur mistakes and don't ever repeat that.. ok?u r my student mind it..."

"ok.."she said obediently still pouting .."good job,nalla panni irukaa... nu oru vaarthai sonnaa ivaroda gireedam irangidumaa?" she twisted her lips..

"Well, I think I have done my job..here after u can read on ur own.if you have any doubts u can ask to ur math teacher.."

"yaen, yaen..yedhukku math teacher ta keknanum..neenga dhaan yennoda math teacher naan unga kitta dhaan kepen.."she was quiet adamant..

"Raji..do you think I don't have any work other than teaching you..?"

"Why..?You don't like me? Am I that annoying..?"

She asked in a hurtful voice..

He went quiet for a second...then asked..

" do you have any free time this evening..?"

"After this class I am free only..why?"

"Ok..be ready in a hour...we will go for outing.."

"Outing ...aa?nijamaavaa...? ..??"

"yes...nee vara dhaane?"

"ofcourse.."she chirped cheerfully..

Raji was waiting near the turning of their street twitching her legs frequently ..fidgeting the end of her sling bag impatiently ...her mind full of excitement and heart fluttering in anticipation she awaited for him to show up...when she noticed his motor bikfrom the distance her face beamed instantly..

Karthik s bike slowed down and halted besides her ...he took off his helmet and smiled at her warmly..

She was wearing a white top with black long skirt with white dots..innocent oozing out from her added charmness for her natual beauty..that stunned him for a moment..she was the same Raji as before but in his eyes she looked very much different that day...

"Hi..."he said..

"Hi.." she mumbled all of a sudden feeling very shy and she could feel her cheeks heated up with a tint of pinkish blush..

He looked at that adorable sight with astonished eyes..

"yaen inniki Raji romba azhagaa theriyaraa?"his mind questioned himself..he shook his head lightly to come out of his trance..and asked..

"polaamaa?"

She nodded her head and hopped on..

While driving the bike he asked..

"Raji yenga polaam?u want to go to somewhere in particular?"

"ur wish...yenganaalum yenakku ok.."she replied ,liberally allowing him to choose..

"Park ku polaamaa?"

"venaam romba bore adikkum.."

"Any temple..?"

She gritted her teeth all annoyed..

"Sunday ..non veg saapittutu yaaraavdhu kovil ku povaangalaa?."

"naan saapidalai.."he said casually..

"but naan saapten.."she said curtly..

"ok..Shopping mall..?"

"Anga laam yedhuvume vaanga mudiyaadhu romba costly.."

"how about watching movie..?"

"ippo urupadiyaa yendha padamum release aagalai.. adhumattum ilaama veetukku thirumba late aagidum."

He sighed ..""ooppss.."sari...yedhaavadhu hotel ku poi saapidalaamaa?"

"yenakku ippa pasikalai.."her reply came curtly..

It seemed she had all sorts of denial method at the tip of her tongue..and was ready to abandon all his suggestions...

He pulled over the bike and removed his helmet..and turned to her side..

"appo yenga dhaan poganum unakku..thirumba veetuke poidalaamaa?"he was fed up...

"Brigade road...shoppping polaamaa...?"she chirped with her eyes filled with fascination..

"idhai modhalaiye solla vendiyadhu dhaane?"he asked in irritation..

"neenga modhalaiye kekkavendiyadhu dhane?"

He was dumbfounded by her reply. "naan kekalaiyaa?yellam yen neram..."he said in his mind voice..

Brigade road of Bangalore is one of the busiest and crowded place of the city and also the paradise for shopping freaks ..

karthik gulped hard seeing the crowd moving like a colony of ants..

He didn't want to step down the street..he turned towards Raji to refuse going into the street..but seeing the amusement in her eyes he couldn't help but accompany her quietly..

"ivlo crowd aana place dhan unakku pidikkumaa?he asked while walking along ..

"yes,yenakku romba pidikkum but appaa allow pannave maataaru..yennoda friends laam inga shopping pannadha pathi neraiya solluvaanga..but naan innikku dhaan first time varen.."

She said in an excited voice..

He realized that coming here was kind of her dream..so he has nothing to deny after that..

They strolled there for a while..it seemed Raji was more interested in window shopping than buying it..he wanted to buy something for her but was hesitant...what if she misinterpret it ?

Suddenly something caught captivated her and she stopped at a fancy store and glanced some jumkas..but unaware of her stayed back karthik marched forward with long strides and Raji was left behind ...keeping jumkas on her ears she turned to his side to show him

"yeppadi irukku?"

But was shocked to not see him around..her smile frozen in her lips and fear clutched her heart..

..she doesn't know what to do..and didn't know how to find him in this huge crowd..as she was very nave and not used to such crowed place ,likely to be intimidated ..

"what if I get lost in this place..?what if he never finds me?"though she knew she was thinking absurd but the thought itself seemed very frightening ..the fact was ..she don't have cell phone..even if she had it though she doesn't know his number at the first place..she can't even call his family as she lied to them that she was going for a group study in her friend's house..and above all she was afraid to travel alone in taxi or auto..so many thoughts rushing to her mind doen't seemed helping to calm down her pounding heart..though it was not a serious issue..at that moment she was terrified in that unnerving situation..

karthik found that Raji was not following him and was missing..he ran his eyes all over the crowd to trace Raji..but it was nearly impossible to locate her in that huge crowd..for a moment he was panicked and went back in the same path as walked to search Raji..he went into the crowd making his way with difficulty ..passing the glance all over nervously..

After it seemed like an decade but actually just ten minutes.. Finally he located Raji ..who was standing all alone in the crowd..rolling her bewildered eyes in all direction gripping her bag in tension ..she looked more like a lost puppy in the menacing forest..

As soon as her baffled eyes met his anxious ones at the distance .. she rushed to him...and clutched his shirt over his sleeves tightly.

"sir..."her airy voice indicated her throat went dry in fear..

He tugged her towards him throwing his arm around her shoulder in the pretext of avoiding some random guy from bumping her ..."Raji..r u ok?"He asked in concern..

"mmm..."she said meekly still shuddered slightly..his grip tightened sensing her shiver..

"polaamaa?"he asked softly..

"venaam ...podhum veetukku polaam..time aachi la?"she said in a timid voice...

He knew she was scared but certainly didn't want to end that day in that unpleasant and abrupt manner..

"yenakku pasikkudhu yedhaavdhu sapidalaam vaa?"as he expected hearing the word food her face showed some positive change..

he stretched out his hand to her..cueing her to hold it..

She slowly placed her hand in his palm ..and watched her hand enclosed completely with in his hand astonishingly ,she felt a strange calmness and strength surrounding her nervous self..

She stole a glance at him time to time while they walk hand In hand..if it would be the outcome ,she was ready to lost in the crowd thousand times as well..such thought popped up in her crazy mind and she smiled to herself..it was like a dream of fantasy to her that walking the endless path holding his hand..

"yenna sirippu.." his voice came from very close sending shivers to her..

"onnum illai.."

"onnum illaama sirichaa avangalukku yenna peru theriyumaa?"

"appo yennai loosu solreengalaa?"She glared at him fiercely..

"naan yeppo sonnen,neeye dhaan sollra..?"he smiled widely ..

She gritted her teeth and cursed him under her breath..

But her angry eyes stretched in astonishment once she laid her eyes on the Delhi chat shop..

She sprinted there like a bird..

"baiyaa paani puri dho naa..."she ordered in excitement..

Karthik followed her with a small smile lingered at the corner of his lips..

She casually shoved in a dozen of pani puri ...karthik has nothing much to do but staring at her with his eyes popping out in shock..

But finally while she asked for one more plate..he stopped her..

"Raji podhum..stomach upset aagida pogudhu.."

"adhellam onnum aagaadhu.."she said carelessly..and about to eat one more..

But he grabbed her hand.."no stop.."

she pouted her lips heavily..

"appo idhu waste aa podium neenga saapidunga.."she thrust the pani puri in his mouth..due to this unexpected attack..he gulped the spicy paani into his mouth and inhaled the hotness of the mirchi that went down his respiratory track..and he coughed heavily covering his mouth..though he spitted it immediately ,his cough has not subsided ..his breath choked and he coughed tremendously and his eyes were watery and his face become red ...

She was panicked to see his extreme reaction..

"sir..yenna aachi..r u ok?"

"I am allergic to spicy items..I can't eat that.."

He said between his coughs..she hastily rummaged in her bag and gave him a water bottle..He drank all of it on one go..but still he was not feeling any better..seeing him struggle like this she felt very guilty..

"Sorry sir..I am really sorry..yenakku ipapdi aagum nu theriyaadhu.."

"It's ok..."he said blowing out the air heavily...

She thought for a while and ran to somewhere..he was surprised but didn't has the energy to follow her...in a few minutes she came back with a ice cream cone ..she un wrapped it hurriedly and kept it near his mouth.."saapidunga...kaaram uraikaadhu.."

Seeing her panic stricken face and the concern in her eyes..his eyes got teary ...this time not because of the allergy..he gazed at her intently and took the bite of the ice-cream ..the cold liquid slides down his throat soothing down the hotness..he looked back at her meticulously..his heart ached heavily..

"How I am going to tell her that I am leaving soon..?" that question haunted him...
