I believe girls can and should wear it mangalsutra and other jewellery as long as they wish. Of course this whole connection with d pati thing is irritating. If a girls wants to dress up in a particular way even after her hubby is dead or separated she should do so. She can wear whatever jewellery she wants but not because it is associated with her hubby or marital status
