Hi SB. Welcoming you and myself in the Forum. 😃
It's been a week and I feel same as you have written. Nice analysis of show and characters.
Show has a new flavor.
subtle yet flowed characters
joint yet separate family life
New Generation yet without being ostentatious.
Old Age + New Age + Coming Age = balance of all generations, difference of opinions, clashes yet their bond looks real.
Loving the show so far. Story, screenplay, house, background music, dialogues. small details stands out. Actors are becoming comfortable in their respective roles, I have started to see them as their characters.
The most realistic aspect of the show is -- living arrangement. 👏
it sounds utter unrealistic that 15-20 people live in same house, share same kitchen and one cook, cooks for them all.
but sharing same verandah, and yet having different houses n kitchens, sounds very realistic. 👏 kudos to Team.
A strong belief I have, when you live separate, there is always more love in your heart for your cousins, uncle n aunts rather than when you live in same house. everyday's clashes can turn relations sour. but a bit distance can keep the love intact.
Love Lakshmi as a character. she is so real to me. actress is doing a perfect job. she is clumsy, gets terrified but she is such a sweetheart. a lovely soul. she feels bad, but covers it for her kids n husband.
Vivek is one finest actor TV industry have but he has never got his due. glad he is getting more limelight coz of show on SP. hope he gets his due appreciation.
and some of the scenes, that makes NAUC a refreshing show on TV.
- London Thumakda song sequence. They did not play it on music system, Ramesh sung it.
- first epi when Nisha says - This is the first time we are celebrating someone's departure and not welcome. such lovely dialogue. shows how these cousins are closely bonded regardless of their parent's differences.
- Dadi scolding Dolly's dad for behaving rudely with Ramesh and stopping their dance, 👏 for I have never seen someone scolding the wrong one in TV serial. that was such a refreshing n real scene.
- Jail Sequence was Hilarious. every cousin stood out in their respective thoughts of jail. 😆
- introduction of dinosaurs. 😆 another hilarious and apt scene.
- Ramesh drinking and opening up to Nisha. subtle n meaningful. there wasn't OTT acting of drunkard, no dhad dhad music, yet there was pain, sorrow. failure n much more.
- Nisha, such a different protagonist. a tom-boy, free spirited girl. there are layers to her I feel and I wanna know more. she is one intriguing character.
Treatment of the show does remind me of SGP at times. I just wish they continue this show as it is now. don't want too dramatic, dhan dhan type over the top stuff. Roopan is not a good person but she isn't extremely vampish either. request to CVs, please don't turn her into one.
and with that SB, I will end my bak-bak. glad to see you here. hoping to recreate SGP forum fun. 😃

Great writing SB!
Agreed to every point of yours. I actually noticed how the kids are very similar to their parents in yesterday's episode when Roopal very openly commented on Lakshmi's saree and Kirthi easily insulted her own sister's looks. The impact of parents on children's behaviour was very clearly shown.

I also like the fact that the cousins are not shown as the completely supporting and eternal bonding types. More than bonding we see them having fights which is very real. Remember the scene during the party how the rest of the cousins counted for the patch up of Nisha and Kirti? That was so realistic and warming. They clearly depict the distinction between commenting and insulting.

The story is moving in a gradual pace. First few episodes were neatly spent on the characterisation, with the rest showing the family situation. They have smoothly moved on to Dolly's marriage now.

What I find intriguing is the open commenting on Ramesh and Lakshmi. The backstory is definitely going to be interesting on that part. Its just not the financial aspect but something else too.

The actors have improved a lot and that's definitely because of the dubbing. Kirti has to definitely improve a lot. I am fine with the rest of them.

As you said, no dhan dhan music, close ups or everyday greetings and blessings. Things have been very pleasant as of now.

@NimbuMirchi
How did you come up with this name? 😆

Yes. Living together yet separately is a fresh concept and practical too. I don't get how the bahus in other shows always cook and the same time stay fresh with full make up and jewellery the entire day..😕😆
I don't want the show to actually justify the set up or change this set up. This isn't something wrong. It's just different.

Shwets, its different in TV world. but in a practical life, this concept is hell real.
My neighbors, 2 bahus lived in same house. but separate living. One in ground floor and other on first floor. It's very much around us.
and so, I love this aspect.
did you see that scene when Dadi scolds bahus for being in their respective houses even before evening of Dolly's marriage. and they agreed that till Dolly's marriage now they will cook together n celebrate.
that again is so much more real. I have seen families being together on functions, Diwali, festivals. cooking together n celebrating.
that is how it is done.
love that part. kudos to creative team for keeping it as real it can be. 👏👏

So what should I call you? NM? 😆

Where have I seen the actor playing Lakshmi? She seems so familiar. I have been racking my brain but cannot remember where. Just love her smile..😊 Very well written character.

Dadi is super cool 😆 More than Dadaji, she is keeping the family together. I feel she has a soft corner for Lakshmi..could be because Roopal and the elder bahu are sisters and hence their bonding is more strong and Lakshmi gets ignored.

yea call me NM. 😉 I don't know how I came up with this name. I just wanted to change 'Disappeared' anyhow and so I changed to whatever came in my mind. 😆
Lakshmi's real name is Pubali Sanyal. She was in Saathiya movie. one of Vivek's friend I guess.
Lakshmi is lovely. I like her character too. yup, dadi empathies with Lakshmi more. one, coz Ramesh is always put last in any matter, second becoz Vimla n Roopan are sisters.
