But on a serious note it could be possible he went there n that's the first thing he heard that the house is burn down n both died. But later he found out Divya possessed by evil powers n might have thought Divya herself killed Pia after not been able to find her. As Divya has turned evil. He considers his Divya dead. That's why he always says that they died.

If that were true than he would have thought of that instead of the fire flashback. I honestly don't think its Divya who is the ultimate evil, although that would be cool but all hints points to Mo and Ved's momma. I think Divya is imprisoned by that evil entity somewhere because if the ultimate evil is Divya, neither Pia nor Nishant will be able to kill her, no matter how evil she is. If the show was with the extension, there was a possibility of that but with 40 episodes left, I highly doubt it.
