Chapter 3

"Navya.." Rits called her who was sitting with her in the canteen, sipping a glass of chocolate shake with her gaze fixed suspiciously on Anant who was sitting few tables ahead making notes while some girls were standing close to his table there sighing at him. He seemed to be too busy in his work to notice any of those girls.

Rits looked at the way where she was looking and then turned towards her.

"Tum dono mein jhagda hua hain?" She asked making Navya's attention on her.

"Huh?! Nai kyu?" She asked back.

"Vo tum dono aaj alag alag baithe ho toh mujhe laga ki shayad..." Rits made an obvious face for her to guess the rest.

Navya shook her head in denial without giving any explanation and was back at her work rather her new mission.

Ritika was getting bored seeing Navya busy gazing at him with her suspicious eyes and then again tried to poke her nose in the matter.

"Erhmm Navya, tum Anant ko ghoor kyun rahi ho?" Asked Ritika with a confusion written all over her face.

Hearing her question, Navya looked at her with a stern face while Rits made an innocent face seeing her reaction. Just then she saw Anant turning at her side and she quickly hid under the table nearly banging her head while Ritika too joined her under the table.

"Tum thik toh hona? I mean tum Anant se kyun chup rahi ho?"

"Sunn Rits, main tujhe iss waqt kuch nahi bata sakti bas itna keh sakti hu that am on a mission. Isliye tu abhi yaha se ja aur agar Anant mere bare mei puche toh kuch mat batana."

Ritika nodded her head vigorously and got up from there. She saw Anant stopping Rits and asking her something. Their conversation ended in seconds and Ritika went from there. Knowing very well what will be his next step, she quickly put her phone in vibration and just then it showed Anant's call. She picked it up.

"He..hello." She said in a whisper still sitting under the table.

"Navya kaha ho tum? Next class start hone wali hai. Ghar se nikli ki nai?" He bombarded her with his questions.

"Ha..haan main nikal chuki hoon. I mean mai college gate ke pass hoon abhi aati hoon."

"Okay cool! Main canteen mein tera wait kar raha hoon. Jaldi aana."

"Nai" She said a bit loud but quickly put her palm on her mouth "I mean tu class mei ja, main tujhse vahi milti hoon."

"Hmm acha thike, bye."

"Bye."

Navya quickly hanged on with a sigh. She looked up to find him settling his books in his bag and proceeding out of the canteen. Navya took out a small pocket dairy and jotted down some points.

"Choti maa ka shaq kahi sahi toh nahi." She thought with a horrified expression after closing the dairy and putting inside her jeans pocket.

Yesterday Navya had one real awkward discussion with Sugandha about Anant at the time he has gone out with his father and brother. Sugandha is in a dilemma about his son's behavior for girls as he doesn't seem to be interested in them from the school days itself after being asked by her repeatedly if he has a girlfriend or rather a crush on someone but he seems to be only focused on studies unlike Navya who has shared with her choti maa regarding her crushes i.e. Shahrukh Khan from the school days itself and her recent crush Shaheer Sheikh ;). Now Sugandha is just one step back to assume her son to be a gay.😆 Times have changed now and she is a modern mother who is ready to understand her son's sexual preferences although it is giving her sleepless nights like a typical Indian mother if her assumption becomes true. She called up Navya like a true rescuer for her to take her out of this situation. Navya was firstly startled hearing her choti maa's plight giving her the biggest example of her friendship with Anant but Sugandha denied it giving a reason of her being a tomboyish who has gelled up with him from the childhood itself. After a mind blogging conversation they decided to do a spy work on Anant where Navya becomes the detective and Sugandha the boss.

As soon as she entered the class she saw Anant waving at her.

"Jaldi aao." Said Anant.

She nodded her head in reply just then, the most attractive girl of their class Kaira, entered inside who like the other girls has a huge crush on Anant and never leaves a stone unturned to get close to him. Although she is always on Navya's nerves but today she decided to give it a try and purposely walked slower than her. As she had guessed, Kiara puts her bag beside Anant's seat and was going to sit there just then got stopped by him.

"Listen, kahi aur jake baitho, yaha Navya baithegi." He shot a tough look at her while she took her bag pulling a face and went to sit somewhere else not before giving an angry glare at Navya. She rolled her eyes seeing her and sat beside him.

"Tune uss Kaira ko yaha baithne kyun nahi dia?"Asked Navya with a forced smile mentally thinking what her choti maa is making her do.

"Kya? Navya, tu thik toh haina? Koi aur mere bagal mein kyu baithega jabki sab jante hain ki mai sirf tere saath baitha hoon." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Ahh.. haan but she is quite attractive you know, tujhe kaafi bhav bhi deti hain. So..."

"So?" He raised his eyebrows "It's her problem not mine aur ye tujhe subah subah ho kya gaya hain. Pi-vi ke aayi hain kya!" He chuckled while she gave him a light slap on his shoulders.

"Shut up. Faltu mat bol." She made a face while he chuckled more. The lecturer entered inside the classroom making them quite.

"Choti Maa, I think you should have a word to word conversation with Anant." Said Navya standing infront of her with her hands folded.

"Kya? Nahii..." Sugandha screamed like a typical mother keeping her hands on her ears nearly making Navya a def.

Anant quickly came inside seeing her scream.

"Kya hua maa, chilla kyu rahi ho?" He asked standing beside Navya.

Sugandha and Navya looked at him with scornful eyes and then exchanged a glance with each other. The next moment Anant was sitting on the chair while Sugandha and Navya infront of him making him confuse as hell.

"Maa, Navya, aap dono mujhe asa kyun dekh rahe ho? Hua kya hain?" He asked innocently unaware of the terror which is going to be busted upon in the next moment.
