*sigh* Awesome post Jenny👏 This show had a promising start, but now it's leading to nowhere..

When I came to know that the popular show Tere Liye was being replaced by Navya, I wasn't sure if it could reach the heights TL reached... The first 2 promos of Navya where Navya and Anant were talking about their principles weren't very appealing to me. But the bekaboo promi caught my attention, and after the first episode, well, there was no looking back.. After each passing day I was getting hopelessly addicted to this show.. Navya was relatable to so many teenager girls like me.. The journey of love between Navya and Anant was being beautifully shown, until the picnic track.. The CVs rushed through the most amazing phase of this show.. Honestly, I feel that apShagun track was necessary because this had helped AnYa to realise that they are inseparable, and can't stay with each other.. But during this course, they turned Rama into a vamp and Anant into a crybaby and spineless lamb.. We had two full months of stupid rona-dhona crap.. IMO, the CVs could have reduced the seperation time.. They should have wind up this track within 2 weeks.. Anyway, finally when Shagun was transported to Banaras, I was happy with AnYa finally confessing and so didn't really mind those.. Then came the birthday track and what else can a fangirl ask for!! But little did I kniw that the CVs had another negative track ready.. Actually, negative would be an understatement here: the Kanpur track had almost murdered the very essence of the show. After butchering Anant's and Rama's character duing apShagun track, it was Meeta's turn now. She had suddenly turned into a brainless mom. I agree that her anger and fears were justified, but her actions were not. Slapping a 19 year old girl, that too in front of her friends, is not cool..especially when Meeta was previously shown as a caring and doting mother who understands her daughter more than anyone else in the world... In Kanpur, the 2 families faught like cats and dogs, that too in a wedding ceremony! *pukes* The CVs could have shown Anant winning the hearts of Navya's family in this track..but they are a bunch of sadists, so alas!

Finally, we all were relieved when everybody returned home. We saw Anant proposing Navya and both of them trying to convince their families, their engagement and their marriage being postponed for 6 months. Then the CVs introduced the office-cum-MU track, and finally they had succeeded in brutally murdering such a beautiful show.. Nayi soch ke aad me they showed an orthodox belief that a woman CANNOT maintain a balance between her job and her relationship.. They have always played with Anant's character and changed it according to the storyline. From a traditional yet mordern shy boy, he went on to become an extrovert, then to a cry-baby then to a lattoo majnu then to a caring BF and then to a jerk and then again to a caring BF and what not!!!! The office track was the final straw, and immediately after the marriage track ( which was again sadistic thanks to Guddu) we learnt that it's going off-air... Thanks to #savenavya, the show got a new life and we all were hopeful again when Anant decided to stand on his own feet.. Everything was smooth until the consummation, but looks like the CVs can't tolerate so much happiness, so here we see AnYa going back to Bajpais without having proved anything.. In reality, it would had been a big blow to a person's (in this case: Anant's) self-esteem, but like I said, they loved character assasination, so now the whole Bajapi clan, inclu Sugi n Savi have turned EVIL...and the show is DOOMED... What was the point of this ghar-chhodo track when they had to return home like this only? Ah whom am I asking? The CVs are blind, deaf and literally DUMB...

Kya tha, aur kya kya ho sakta tha, par dekho, kya ho gaya!!

Wow, Jen! you have just read all our hearts and minds and spoken on our behalf so beautifully! Brilliant post! I completely agree with everything that you have said. The story had, and I still believe that it has, so much potential and I wish the CVs had dealt with the story with a bit of moderation and sensibility. We would then have had a fantastic show!

The one point that completely resonates with me is the nonsensical way problems are solved in the show. For a show that wants to highlight 'nayi soch' you rarely hear any soch and all problems are solved through tricks rather than argument - which defeats the whole purpose IMO. Instead of tricks, if all conflicts between tradition and modernity were tackled with reasonable argument, it would have made for a fantastic show which is very very applicable to our lives. I suppose the CVs were worried about being seen as preachy but I am sure that there were ways around this. And when they do show an argument such as Anant's conversation about Renuka's divorce, they do it in such a way that you are left very confused about their message.

I feel that Navya team has always been very confused about its audience and in an attempt 'to have something for all age groups' they end up catering to none.

Also, your post gave me a glimpse of the addamates' journey with Navya since April! Thanks for that, I have always been very curious to know how you all reacted to the different epis and tracks, especially the way the romance developed!

@Shaina: wow, wow and some more wows!! you have brilliantly highlighted the CVs tendency to 'aao twist karein' at all the crucial points of the story. Really enjoyed your take!

@Namrata: loved your tracking of the way the CVs have always screwed with Anant's character. Its like they get worried that Anant is coming across so much better than Navya and start showing him as childish and immature so that our Devi gets an opportunity to be one!

I hope the CVs read these takes and understand how we feel! There is no basis for this hope except habit, I guess!

👏

Glad you opened a thread like this Jen

Navya was like our Show, different, Unique, relatable.. etc.. I was glued to the show from the first Promo, I can say.. Like many here, Kanpur track was a total disaster... Ever since they show has gone down the drains, and the only thing that makes me watch the Show is that the Leads - Shaheer & Somya..except when Anant & Navya left the Bajpayees to start their marital life together, i thought we were back on track... but no cvs had to ruin it again..
During #saveNavya we all protested against the channel for treating Navya Unjust.. Now I feel that Shaheer & Somya is treated that way by the cvs.. They are being letdown by their own crew.. Its a total waste of their talent..

jen you became rockers so I failed to recognize. Sorry for the late reply yar. What I would add , all you my beautiful; friend have listed each and every point. Nidhi, Shina, nams, shilpa and all. A big thank you for saying my part to as im no good at writing like you all. I 100 % agree with nidhi that anathika just ruined the entire show. Shina iam 100 % sure anathika will flush your all Qs to the drain and they wont be addressed in near future. Now the focus is on N vs Bs.

Where sugandha who was shown as good mom turned evil sas adding to the badmash company of loonies. Nimmis tongue and brain khas khane gayi hein and why cant she speak up. But thanks god Rama got one dialogue last day and due to Navya all wall papers got voice at least. That big relief and BD has less to talk these days. Tell me one thing where we are heading?????

agreed jen with each and every point.. something that i wanted to say all along was that why was the falling in love part so sudden and rushed.. that was the main storyline of the show anya's love story and that only was shown with such hurry.. but as you said the sizzling chenistry between the 2 made me forget that.. for me the kanpur track was the first blow to the beautiful show bt i cud have forgiven them if they had no further ruined the show but only when i was hoping 4 something better here comes the greatest disappointment.. office track and den we have d marriage track something which was working 4 me again but then we have this sp off air drama and #savenavya.. the cvs seemed 2 have got back their senses and we hav d ghar chdna track, some beautiful scenes and epis.. just as i was about to forgive them 4 d mess they created earlier.. we find another disappointment instore for us.. why does the cvs always do it when i am slowly trying to 4giv them .. i dont know.. i only hope that the show doesnt turn out to be the typical sp saas bahu drama and truly get some "rocking" nayi soch as cvs always promise but let us down on and on..

Thanks Jen, for building this much needed platform to show our disappointment and frustration for the show that we so love, the show which is an inherent part of our life. Jen, Nids, Shaina, Nams, Naveen and all others have said everything beautifully taking the events that happened in the chronological way and ranted and raved for all that it gave us. And I absolutely agree to all of it!

There is no point in saying the same things again, but what I cannot just not mention is that what the show wanted to project and what it has actually done till now!

One year back Navya started as an youth based show wanting to give the mesaage of how todays youth can strike a balance between traditionalism and modernity with love as the main factor bridging the two! Needless to say that Anya completely won our heart, whatever maybe the track (with occasional rants here and there), a beautiful relationship that made us fall in love all over again and an extremely realistic Mishra family who just seem to be our next door neighbor!

But the messages that finally at the time of the 'BIG ONE' for Navya goes back to the youth and the parents is scary! I just wanted to give an overview of it so that CVs and writers can ponder that is this the message they wanted to give when they started off?

#Deepu and Meeta inspite of being the doting parents of todays world refuses to have faith in their kid, a mother doesn't find the need talk to her daughter even once about her relationship, and even when the daughter pleads her to listen just polices her and packs her off to Kanpur! The mother doesn't feel the need to discuss this very pertinent issue with the father(who is otherwise so understanding) at all! No communication between parents over the childs very important phase in life. And then we saw the Kanpur track, an absolute blunder in the name of parental possessiveness and pride.

#The main protagonists, Anya or the gang, Ritz Ranbir and Appy who are in this case the face of youth have been shown to completely lack ambition. Nowwhere they discuss about their plans for future after college, how they can study more or be independent! Arent these so very important discussions and dreams for college going youth?

# After a lot of drama Anya gets married and this time it is shown that all that the Bajpayees know is to insult the Mishras be it before the wedding, during the wedding or after the wedding. How is it possible that there wasn't one situation during the whole wedding that the Bajpayees atleast behaved in the least, at least decently with the Mishras as their sandhis! So the youth and parents see that it's the inherent right for the guys family to be cheap, mean and selfish in the name of parampara and sanskar!

#Next comes Love marriage! We saw that 'Its is the worst thing that can happen on this earth!' This has been projected in the last one and a half months over and over again and it really hurts to see this as there are umpteen examples of successful endeavours! How can such a message go to the youth and the parents!

# The 'nayi bahu' is the one who is responsible for everything that has been going wrong in the family, be it 'beta' protesting for bahus basic rights (that her parents and family can't be insulted), or a marriage getting called off because of coward, spineless groom, or even the beta meeting with a deadly road accident! How in the name of Earth is that Nayi soch? And all the members of a family are equally bad, some cheap, scheming people (the wicked B trio), spineless dumb antics (Mohan and Chacha) and some suddenly getting vocal, atyachari, horrendous so called mothers! How is that possible that not a single family member can distinguish the right from the wrong and speaks up for it! Is this the meassge the show had set out with?

#Last but not the least is the shattering the concept of todays youth getting independent and trying to stand and on their own feet and make an identity of their own! Drama, schemes, nautanki all are vital part of daily soaps but to the extent that it shatters such a good concept, that the youth should always be aware of, is a slap on the face of Nayisoch!

Anantika ji and Bhavna ji U took care to spoil our beloved show and claim to make it a "ROCKING' one in Ur own self proclaimed style! Sorry, to say it doesn't SELL.

Fact remains we still love Anya and their amazing bondage and chemistry, the saving grace of the saga! It's a request to the wrirters and the cvs that do not make the deliberate murder of this beloved show of ours!

Aiyoo I am late!! But I wanna rant and rant I will..

I guess I don't have to go on a tirade as far as explaining how SPECIAL Navya the show was to me, how it struck a chord with me from the very first episode..It still continues to be special, but that has not got anything to do with the actual show, its special because I found some great friends through this show, with whom I intend to stay in touch with for the rest of my life..

Navya the show had struck a jackpot with its concept..Generation gap, striking the perfect balance between traditions and the modern way of life, it was new, it was fresh, the promos were gripping and the first episode lived up to all the buzz..There was no looking back after that..Everyone I knew loved Navya..The show's popularity reached the sky in the initial months..Here was a show which was different, modern in its outlook, and yet, still rooted deeply to values, principle, and beliefs..The characters, minus the loonies, were so very relatable..I could see my mum in Meeta, my dad in Deepu, my brother in Harsh..And the innocent, and yet so very alluring chemistry between the leads was the cherry on top of the cake..Do you remember how active the forum used to be during those times? How Navya would always rank 2 or 3 on the CM rank? Those were the golden days and we kept hoping for the return of the charm, the mojo, as each track promised a new beginning only to come crashing down and bringing our hopes down along with it..

My one complain with the initial stage of the show was that the whole falling and love and confessing phase was way too hurried..Intelligent writers hold onto that particular development as long as possible..Viewers will keep watching a love story with all their undivided attention until the ILUs are exchanged, and they will excuse mishaps in the story in this stage..But once that huge development is done and dealt with, what are you left with? Then you need to have real gripping story, a tight script, along with constantly trying to keep the romance between the leads fresh, to hold the viewer's interest..And this is where Navya failed..

There was no need to hurry through the confession..The pace of it was unreal..I still haven't figured out how Anant jumped to loving Navya in the blink of an eye, or how her harmless crush transformed into love..There was no proper development there..

The apShagun track was good but we paid a heavy price for it, our hero was shown as a spineless, brainless, wonder who promised lady love that he will make everything alright in the morning, only to call her in the evening, asking her not to attend his freaking engagement..Wah wah!

Ever since that, it has been a continuous string of disasters..Rock-ing it truly has been! Stone the viewers to death with absurd tracks, negativty that knows no bound, inconsistencies with initial character sketch, you name it, we had it!

Kanpur is when I truly lost interest in this show..I remember how excited we all were, how we filled up pages and pages at the adda speculating, predicting a romantic reunion between the love birds..The CVs, the eternal sadists they are, doused cold water over all our musings and instead threw a horror track on our way..

From then on, it was lost case..The struggling phase, convincing the two families, loony clans absurd demands during the marriage, the horrible office track, and the sadistic marriage..What followed next was even worse..Let us all torture poor Navya Bahu any chance we get..Nayi Soch my foot!!

Kholi 420 was just starting to reinstill my faith in this show but yesterday's episode has left a bitter taste in my mouth..I wonder why I am watching this show in the first plase..Iss ajeeb connection ko kya naam doon? *wink wink nudge nudge*😆

Anantika, please for the love of God, stop this torture..For the time being, it definitely seems like you can take Anantika out of SNS, but you cannot take the SNS mentality out of Anantika..

Jen, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to write this post..I wish Anantika or anyone from the creative team of Navya could read this and replies this post got..It would do them a whole lot of good!
