Author's Note: This is a slightly shorter and boring chapter, but it was needed to bring the plot forward. Since I know this chapter is not SO interesting, I'll be putting up the next chapter up too! So PLEASE, don't throw tomatoes!
(Bajpayee House, Mumbai)
Everyone had assembled in the living room as Baba had called them there to tell them something important. Anant however, was not at all interested, and was constantly checking Navya's FB profile using his BlackBerry. While Baba hadn't really started talking yet, Om did not like the fact that Anant was disrespecting his father by playing with his phone. But before he could say anything, Bua Dadi beat him to it.
"Ee liyo! Jab dekho us tun tuni ke peeche pade hain humare shehzaade Salim! Oh Anant jee! Agar aap anumati dein, toh Bhaisaab kuch baat karna chahte hain!" said Bua Dadi angrily.
Anant was embarrassed, and hastily put his phone inside. Unbeknownst to him, Mohan, who was standing next to him was actually looking at what Anant was doing on his phone. The way Anant kept looking at all the photos and downloading her solo pictures, Mohan realised that Anant's recent change in behavior had something to do with Navya.
"Humne aap sab ko yahaan is liye bulaaya hai kyunki humein aap sab se kuch baat karni thi. Aap sab ko toh pata hi hoga, agle saptah ko humari Anjali ki shaadi hai. Hum chahte hain, ki hum sab is shaadi mein shaamil ho. Humne nirnay liya hai ki hum sab kal dopahar ko yahaan se niklenge. Aap sab jaane ki taiyyari keejeeye." said Baba.
Anant cursed his luck listening to this. First of all he was in a crappy mood because he wasn't getting to talk to Navya, and now he was forced to attend some wedding, where he was going to have to act as if he was on top of the world. Without saying a word, he walked off from there, while the others hung behind to discuss the trip. After Anant had gone up, Rama asked, "Baba, ee shaadi ho kaha rahi hai?"
"Kanpur mein." replied Baba.
(Navya's Tayaajee's house, Kanpur)
It was 11 30 at night and everyone had slept, but Navya was wide awake. She was remembering her conversation with Anant, and was absolutely delighted that she was able to talk to him. At that same time, she saw a picture of her family (resting on the nightstand next to her) and she began to feel guilty, because she'd once again betrayed her mother's trust by talking to Anant. But what could she have done? She loved the guy! And finding out that he was so drunk, she had to check on him! She hated leaving him, there were times he absolutely acted like a little child, and it was during these moments that Navya loved him the most. Whenever he'd get angry with her for silly reasons, and refuse to talk to her till she made it up to him in a way that he wanted, she would feel like she was the most special girl in the world! And it was Anant who made her feel that way! Her parents loved her, and she was the apple of everyone's eye in her house, but she had never felt this special. With Anant, she'd feel like she was his whole world. She'd feel like his whole world revolved around her, and to a certain extent she knew she was right! She loved the guy to bits, and she couldn't wait for the day to run into his arms! With this thought in mind, she tried to sleep, as the next day was her cousin Ravi's sangeet, and she had to be up early for that.

Anant couldn't understand why did he have to go for some cousin's wedding. He knew there was no point of even questioning Baba, as he was not going to be allowed to stay back, even if God himself came down and asked him to do so. Spending a day with Ranbir, and interacting so much with his family had really changed Anant's perspective on his family. He began to wonder, why did everyone in the house listen to everything that was told to them without questioning a thing? Was his family always right? Now that he was in love with Navya, a time had to come where he needed to tell them about her, and he knew they weren't going to agree to the relationship. He wished he was born in a house like Ranbir's, where he was granted SOME freedom to whatever he wanted. While he was thinking about this, Mohan came into his room, with the intention of telling Anant about the marriage alliances.
"Anant, mujhe tujhse zaroori baat karni hai."
"Bhai, I'm really sorry, lekin kya hum kal baat karein? Mujhe actually bahut neend aa rahi hai, aur mera baat karne ka bilkul man nahi hai. Hum kal baat karte hain, jab hum raaste mein hai. Pakka." replied Anant as he walked over to his bed.
Mohan knew that Anant was upset which was why he didn't want to talk to him. But this was something he had to tell Anant, and he decided he'd tell him as soon as he could. Talking to him now would probably stress him out more, so he had to tell him this in Kanpur, before they got back. With this thought in mind, he left the room, and closed the door softly behind him.
(Navya's Tayaajee's house, Kanpur)
It was about 10 in the morning when Meeta, Deepak, Renu, Gautam, Gudiya and Harsh reached Kanpur. They were pleased to see the decorations, and happily walked into the house, when they came across a shocking sight. Dadi was walking towards a pillar in the house, holding a seemingly heavy basket of flowers. Deepak dropped his bags and immediately rushed to take the basket from his mother's hand.
"Maa, yeh sab aap kya kar rahi hai?" asked Deepak in shock.
"Arre! Deepu! Aa gaya mera beta? Kuch nahi, bas thoda shaadi ke tayaari mein haath bata rahi thi! Tum sab kaise ho? Arre, jamai babu bhi aaye hain!" replied Dadi rather cheerily, trying to change the topic.
Truth was, Tayeejee was making her mother in law work like any of the other workers she'd hired to help, without considering the fact that she was a rather feeble old lady. Even though her husband knew about it, he couldn't really say anything because of the fact that he didn't have the guts to open his mouth in front of his wife, who was actually the one who wore the pants in their relationship. Navya and Dadi were made to do all the heavy labour. While Navya didn't mind doing the work, it rather irked her to see her beloved grandmother doing all the work, but she couldn't really say anything, because her Dadi had told her to keep mum about it.
Deepak however, was upset on seeing this, and made a mental note to talk to his brother about it.
"Maa, aap rehne deejeeye. Harsh, saamaan chod aur yahaan yeh toran laga de. Maa, aap mere saath aaiye. Navya kaha hai?"
"Navya yahi hogi, shaayad us kamre mein rangoli bana rahi hogi."
"Theek hai, aap mere saath chaliye, phir main baad mein usse milta hoon. Chalo Meeta, Renu, Gautam." said Deepak, beckoning them to follow him.

Anant couldn't care less about where they were going for the wedding. He was listening to music and contemplating on everything that had been happening. But all he could think about was Navya, and the fact that he couldn't meet her or talk to her. He was thinking of going and talking to her family and introducing himself, but he knew that if he did it in Navya's absence, it would make things more difficult for her, and he didn't really want that. His thoughts were interrupted when Nimisha suddenly snatched his iPod.
"Dekhoon toh bhai, aap kaunse gaane sun rahein hai? Hey Bhagwaan! Yeh sab kya hai? Mar Jawaan? Aisa lagta hai ki aap kisi ke yaad mein mare jaa rahein hain!" said Nimisha with a laugh.
Anant snatched the iPod back from her and gave her a look. He didn't think it was necessary to answer her. This however, confirmed Mohan's suspicion that Anant was in a relationship, and he was having problems with his girlfriend, because of which he seemed upset. He'd tried to talk to Anant before they left, but every time he got the chance, someone or the other would interrupt, and he'd have go from there.
After a really long drive, the Bajpaayees reached Kanpur to the house of the bride. Everyone got down, and began to take in their surroundings. Anant looked around in surprise, and he asked Mohan, "Bhai, hum kaha hain?"
"Kanpur mein Anant!"
Anant was shocked. He didn't know whether to be happy to be so close to Navya, or to be upset that even though he was so close to Navya, he wouldn't be able to meet up with her. This just made his mood more foul as he stormed into the house, trying to look for a place where he could just lie down and sleep. But the moment he went in, he realised he had to immediately get ready to attend the sangeet ceremony, and that pissed him off even more as he went to change.

Navya sat in her room, getting ready. She was looking exceptionally beautiful in a purple anarkali suit and matching jewellery. As she sat doing her make up with a rather sad look on her face as she was missing Anant, Meeta walked in.
"Kaisi hai Navya? Aane ke baad theek se baat nahi hui. Sab theek hai naa?"
"Theek hoon Maa. Bas, mujhe yeh accha nahi lagta ki Tayeejee Dadi se bahut kaam karvati hai. Lekin agar main kuch boloon, toh mujhpe chillati hai, toh main kuch keh nahi sakti." replied Navya morosely.
Meeta was happy as she realised that Navya had probably forgotten about that boy, and this made her happier, and she began to tell Navya not to worry about Dadi, as she would be going back with them.
"Tumhare papa ko bhi yeh pasand nahi aaya, isiliye Ammajee humare saath waapas aa rahi hai. Tu chinta mat kar. Jaldi se tayaar ho jaa, humein kuch hi der mein nikalna hai." said Meeta, as she kissed Navya on the head and left the room.

Anant was sitting in a corner, while staring at the photos of him and Navya in his phone. He was very tempted to at least send Navya a text message telling her that he was in Kanpur, but he remembered that her Tayeejee was very inquisitive, and decided to play it safe. He decided to inbox her through FB after the ceremony, and he began to text Ranbir, to find out if Rits had spoken to Navya or not. At that same time, Nimisha gleefully ran up to Anant, announcing that the boy's side had arrived. Anant shrugged and continued to sit there, as he couldn't care less about what was happening.
Navya walked into the hall, and was remembering the phone call between her and Anant the previous day. She was missing him so much, that she wore the bracelet he had given her on her birthday. Fortunately, till now no one had noticed the bracelet because of the number of bangles she was wearing. While wearing the bracelet, she felt as if Anant was near her, which gave her a sort of comforting feeling. What she didn't realise was that this feeling was because Anant was actually present in the room!
The groom's family and bride's family were standing on the opposite side of the room as the song and dance routine began. While Nimisha went and began to dance with all her cousins and the other dancers, Rama couldn't do so as the Bajpaayees liked their bahus to maintain a rather low profile. She cursed her luck as she began to wag her shoulders where she was standing, while clapping and cheering for the dancers. At the same time, Harsh also went to dance with his cousins. Renu and Meeta tried to make Navya go and dance, but she politely refused and went and stood in a corner. Nimisha too tried to call Anant, but he refused to budge.
Finally, somewhere in the middle of all the dance and song routine, some of Anant and Navya's cousins went to them and dragged them onto the dance floor, despite their repeated protests not to do so. They pushed them into the middle of the dance floor so they couldn't leave, and forced them to sway and move a bit. They both tried to clap and dance a little bit to try and get out of the dance floor fast, but were unsuccessful as their cousins kept pushing them.
As Navya was pretending to sway and dance, someone pushed her really hard, so she ended up tripping, and falling back on the person behind her, who fortunately turned in time to see that and catch her. And to her immense shock, the person to catch her was none other than Anant!
Both were equally shocked to see each other. They stayed frozen in that position, trying to memorize each other's face, as they hadn't seen each other for so long. Fortunately, the dance floor was so big and there were so many people dancing, that no one from their families noticed them in this pose. Anant helped Navya to stand up and beamed at her, who smiled back at him. Looking at each other, they both forgot that their families were there, they forgot that they couldn't talk to each other, they forgot all their pains and worries, as they began to actually dance and sway to the music. But this time, they danced together to all the songs as a couple, staring into each others eyes and not letting anyone come between them.
Renuka saw Navya and Anant dancing together in joy, and was shocked to see that Anant was also at the wedding. But seeing the joy in her sister's eyes, she couldn't bring herself to go and stop her. She just began to keep a watch to make sure no one from her family saw Navya dance.
After the song and dance routine was over, Navya and Anant were just staring at each other, drinking in each other's face, still unable to believe their luck. At the same time, Renuka noticed that that the crowd around them was thinning, and there was a risk that someone would catch them. She hurried towards them, trying to hide them from the public eye.
"Tum dono baad mein baat karo, koi dekh lega." said Renu as she pulled Navya out.
Navya wasn't really paying attention as all she could think about was Anant. She was delighted and hugged Renuka tightly.
"Di! Anant yahaan hai!" said Navya in glee.
"Jaanti hoon Navi. Main yeh bhi jaanti hoon ki tu bahut khush hai, lekin sab ke saamne tum dono ek dusre ki shakal tak nahi dekh sakte. Bhagwaan ke liye kuch ulta pulta mat karna. Unke jaane se pehle, main tujhse vaada karti hoon ki main tum dono ko ek baar milaaoongi." said Renu.
"Thank you Di!" said Navya happily.
Anant was desperate to meet Navya and talk to her! He'd met her after so long, and he got to hold her and dance with her! If he could, he would have pulled her and hugged her and not let her go, but both his and Navya's family was around. He was grateful to Renu for helping Navya and him, but he had to meet Navya personally and talk to her somehow! He wanted to tell her to come to the terrace with him, but he couldn't go and meet her as she was surrounded by her family. As he looked at her, he caught her eye and smiled at her, and she absolutely beamed back. He thought she was looking absolutely radiant, and he'd also noticed that she was wearing his bracelet, which made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
He found a pen and paper, and wrote a note on it. He realised he couldn't give it to Navya, so he grabbed hold of Nimisha, in the hope that she could help him.
"Nimisha, Navya yahaan pe hai, aur mujhe usse milna hai! Tu please mere liye use yeh degi?" asked Anant, hoping that she'd help him.
Nimisha,smiled and agreed and walked over to Navya, who paled a bit looking at her. Her eyes sought Anant, who had his back towards her. Nimisha went up to Navya in front of her family, hugged her and slipped the note in her hand. With a wink, she smiled and walked off. Meeta noticed Nimisha hugging Navya, and she wondered who was she.
"Navya, woh kaun thi?"
"Woh erm, Maa, woh meri college mein padhti hai, aur lagta hai ki shaadi mein aayi hai." lied Navya smoothly, although she felt guilty for doing so.
Navya went into a secluded corner and opened the note to see Anant's handwriting on it.
*NOTE*
Itne din baad tumse mila, tumhein dekha, aur tumhare saath dance bhi kiya! Aisa lagta hai ki mere saare sapne poore ho gaye! Tumse milna chahta hoon. Main chat pe tumhara intezaar kar raha hoon. Jab mauka mile, thodi der ke liye hi sahi, aana zaroor. Tumse baat karne ka bahut man hai.
Aur haan, ek baat batana hi bhool gaya. Aaj, is poore hall mein, tum sabse khoobsoorat lag rahi ho. Purple tum pe bahut accha lagta hai.

Navya glowed on reading that he found her beautiful that night. She turned and looked around for Anant and realised he was already on the terrace, waiting for her. While she knew her mother would be very angry if she found out she met Anant, she couldn't stop herself from wanting to talk to him and meeting him. He made her forget all her problems, and she was really missing him a lot. She decided that she would go and talk to him, whatever happened. But before that, she needed someone to cover up for her absence. She knew only one person understood her and was ready to help her. She walked up to that person, and pulled her aside.
"Di, mujhe aapki thodi help chahiye." said Navya rather hesitantly .
"Haan bol naa Navi, kya hai?"
"Main Anant se milna chahti hoon Di." said Navya, as she handed over the note to her sister.
