Whats the difference between a ROKA and a SAGAAI?? Or are they the same?

roka...a token of acceptance by both sides...usually immediately after the guy-girl + families see each other & the alliance is fixed

as per old traditions this was done by giving Rs 1.25 to the boy/girl...now ppl exchange rings/money/other ornaments/gold or silver coins...

engagement- ring exchange & at times jewellery/cash too- can be deferred to a later date as in just prior to marriage...

some families merge the 2 occasions, some dont...

Shagun was not local - so they possibly combined! In this case - maybe they will have 2 ceremonies - and we can enjoy them twice. A ROKA should be quite informal then - tho agle hafte ho saktha hai !!!

After all - Anant needs some "formal" license - varna hamare Anyalicious moments ka khwaab ka kya hoga?
