Glad you brought it up Usha. Well Mangalore and Udupi have 2 famous ice cream parlours. The mangalore one is called 'Ideal icecream parlour', and the udupi one is ; Diana. I remember both these places from the time I am born, so u can understand how long it has been around😉. Coz u know my age.

And 'Gadhbad' and 'parafait' are the names of 2 very famous ice creams. They are so yummy, and so filling and believe me, inspite of having travelled so much, and eaten BR, cone zones, vadilal, etc, etc,...nothing can beat these two ice creams. If ever u visit these two places, then eating these ice creams is a must. Try it.

Asha i have never eaten Ideal ice cream and will make it a point to try it the next time. Asha, Chaits ( Sorry do not know your name) Is Gadbad only available in Mangalore? coz I have never seen it anywhere else not even in Bangalore.

And yeah I agree Gadbad beats any other ice cream

No Isha, never seen it anywhere in south India, not even in bangalore. Its only Mangalore and udupi.

Isha, try Ideals in mangalore, or else Pabbas which is a branch of ideal. Oh and please eat parafait there. Its little better than gadbad. And tell any rickshaw driver, in mlr he will drop u at ideals. A must must visit in mlr. 😊

Are you in Bangalore??

Last Sunday when I visited MTR on KR Road[renovated] I saw different varities in gadbad and I did tried one and it was OK

But believe me you will never get the one you get in ideals, pabbhas in mangalore and diana[udupi]!

Please do try them if you visit Mangalore!

That is one thing I always tell people who ever goes to Mnagalore for the first time from here in Bangalore.

The yummiest and you get them for lowest price when you compare them in bangalore

Dear Asha - thanks - somehow I always end up discussing food :-) Oh, I am so glad to get this info... My visits to Ktaka are limited to Blore and Mysore and that too in 1985! My mother spent many years growing up in Blore - I'd deffo love to visit Ktaka again, esp Udupi, Mlore, Mysore and Coorg...I've known some really lovely ppl from Ktaka (not to mention very very beautiful) 😳...
