No...violence is not acceptable under any situation...A parent should never raise their hand to their child in anger...Some controlled caning when NOT angry MAY be acceptable in exceptional situations but not so hard as to leave marks...meeta herself admits to harsh that she was wrong and shouldnt have done it whatever the provocation/reason

No, it is incorrect. If things can be sorted out amicably , then why resort to violence????

Violence is not needed in any situation.

In meeta's situation she was beyond thinking, beyond understanding or rationalizing. Hearing Navya say that Anant loves her a lot was the ultimate in her mind. All the emotions were building up in her thru out the day and Anant escaping at the last min and then his SMS was it for her. A wonderful actress who has emoted every scene so well. Meeta is an awesome actress

I am kind of of neutral, it is natural for a mother to act like that, if their kid hides something from them, but meeta should have heard navya's point of view rather than jumping to conclusions

Meeta raising her hand in anger was not right, but her anger itself is understandable...
Its about broken expectations...about shattered trust...& feels like the end of her world...because her kids are her world.
She needs time to come around as she loves Navya...not aggravated further by an easily identifiable Anant sneaking around her home...or sending sms-es!!Navya proclaiming or defending her love also doesnt help...
I am sure Meeta will do the right thing by her daughter in the long haul...fingers crossed!!

Meeta maa's anger can be justified but she shouldn't have slapped Navya. If she can consider Navya to be matured enough to get married she should also try to see things from Navya's side. She should have an open talk with Navya. She can advice or scold or warn Navya. As the previous comments says any sort of violence is not acceptable.
