Exclusive Interview:'I can't be in front of camera 24x7,' sa

Talented TV actress Gulki Joshi is riding high with appreciation coming her way for her show Nadaan Parinde on Life OK. Earlier winning everyone's hearts in Phir Subah Hogi where her character stood up against prostitution in Madhya Pradesh, she is giving her heart and soul to Meher.

Pinkvilla spoke to her about her unique choice of roles and love for theater. Here are excerpts from the interview-

Gulki tell us something about your role of Meher in Nadaan Parindey. How did you grab it?

Well I had actually refused this role when it came to me but as destiny would have it after about almost one month they came back to me with the same subject. I believe in destiny and thought this was apt and hence I took up the role and am glad I did, it's been the best decision so far.

How has been the response so far? You had to shift to Chandigarh for your new show, how easy or difficult was it for you?

We are shooting here in Chandigarh and the people are so loving and giving in Punjab, everyone knows us and I hear the responses around the country have been pretty good. Living away from home isn't easy as we are all in Chandigarh but every bit is fun and am glad people have been accepting us so warmly.

Are you enjoying now in Chandigarh, tell us about your chemistry with the co-actors there?

Chandigarh is a lot of fun we all live in one haveli kinda house and we have separate rooms, most of the time we are cooking for each other and enjoying ourselves. It's a like huge big family and I love it totally. I will definitely miss them once we wind up.

We read that you chose Theater above any other medium, tell us about your love for it.

I love theater, it's the best way to connect with your audiences one on one and know their reaction. It's extremely tough as well as there are no retakes but what's great is, you then work towards perfection, it helps a lot from voice modulation to expression everything. Every time I feel the need to rejuvenate I take up theater.

You are a trained Salsa dancer, would you love to participate in a dance reality show, which one it would be?
I would love to, maybe when the offer comes by I would take it up but for now my daily show is keeping me busy. But yes for all those listening I would love to take part in a dance reality show, anything challenging I love.

Who is your inspiration Gulki?

My parents for who they are and what they have inculcated in me its because of them I am here to day and their constant support always helps.

What do you see in a role before accepting it?

The strength of my character in the show, the variations and how the story shapes up through narration. I must be able to feel that I will be able to add more to the character than just what my director tells me. I must be able to live it.

Can you disclose your relationship status. if you are single, what are the qualities you would look for in a man?

Single! When I find one or in a relationship I would let the world know. Love is beautiful and am yet to be in it.

What kind of shows you don't like to be a part of and why?

Shows which do not challenge me or maybe a reality show like Big Boss it's not that I would not like to do it, it's just scares me to be under scrutiny 24 x 7, it is not easy.

Describe your day off, what you do when you are free?

My off day is spa day day, dinner with my loved ones, catching up on movies. I am a foodie so that brightens up my day.

Your future projects.

For now, I am busy with this show, few offers of films and theater have come up but am a little superstitious hence I would talk about them when the time is right.
