what are they meaning by this statement about himruta (sorry cant post the entire article coz its from a rivl site but I dont get this are they praising or demeaning himruta)

Their controversial attempt at hogging votes made them the talking point of the TV circle (as reported in Mid-Day). While every couple wants to win the show, resorting to unlawful ways only makes them sound rather desperate. But any publicity is good, as it keeps the media and their fans talking about them for a while. We don't know if the duo did it for quick fame or they genuinely faltered, we are sure talking about them. Guess their purpose is achieved?!
