Saroj Khan snubbed for Madhuri's comeback

The 57 year old veteran choreographer sounded bitter when asked about her exclusion from the Yash Raj film. She told us, "Unki jo marzi hai unko karne do, mujhe koi farak nahi padta." (Let them do what they wish to, it doesn't matter much to me). When we asked her that was it her displeasure over not getting Aaja Nachle the reason she took on Priyanka for her maiden film as a director? She took a long pause and replied, "I was thinking of Madhuri first but then realised the role wasn't suited for her. Priyanka is good actress and fits the bill. I am starting my film soon and there are still a lot of formalities yet to finish."

A source close to the veteran dance director tells us, "After Yash Raj signed their current hot favourite choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant for Aaja Nachle, Saroj Khan is definitely miffed by the royal snub. She was expecting Madhuri to give in a word to the Yash Raj people for her preference over her but she didn't do that. Saroj has done films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge (1995) and Veer Zaara (2004) for the prestigious banner and her magical combination with Madhuri is now a legend. Who can forget the Ek Do Teen number from Tezaab (1988) that made Madhuri an overnight star. Even Madhuri's last major release before her hiatus, Devdas (2002) had the superhit dance track, Dola Re Dola choreographed by Saroj. Her displeasure is very obvious."

Vaibhavi rose to fame with the Garba number, Dholi Taro (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) and has now become a regular for the Yash Raj banner with their films like, Dhoom, Bunty Aur Babli, Neel N Nikki and Dhoom 2. Incidentally she shared credits with Saroj Khan for films like Devdas and Veer Zaara.
