Dear Forum Members:

Of late, I have seen name-calling of a section of members by a few individual members occur in this part of IF. And I really find the name-calling in bad taste. When I come to IF, I expect to have fun and read other people's posts without receiving or feeling umbrage on behalf of other members. (And just a few minutes ago, I read a post that I was offended by because of its incendiary nature and condemnation of a group of members on IF, and I do not get offended easily.)

So, kindly note: If you do not agree with the member's support or criticism of a particular dancing couple in the show, you are free to voice your opinion butcivilly and respectfully. So, I request of you to please not resort to name-calling, as it is immature and rather offensive. And if you truly believe in the spirit of community but sometimes are forgetful of the right of everyone to express their dissenting opinions, you should remember the French philosopher Voltaire's quote, "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." With that in mind, I hope you choose your words the next time you have to say something of import to the rest of IF members. Remember that we are all friends and supporters of each other first and foremost; the support you all feel for the dancing couples in the show is secondary to the bond we all share as IF members.

I hope you understand why I am saying this and keep this in mind next time as you write or respond to posts. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Ek Umeed 😊

nice post

thing is, when one resorts to silly name calling...that means that they're tryin to hide their 'non-arguement' behind these gimmicks

if one stoops so low that means that one had nothing substantial to say in the first place

lol i love how there are all these posts telling people to stop arguing and bashing others but nobody is listening. people are still divided and now its become lets partition the forum kind of thing. i dont know why people cant talk civilly about dancing without getting personal or argumentative.

Very Well Said 👏. I agree with you.

I would like to address the following things:

- There are far too many posts stating the same thing (A request- please check atleast three to four pages before starting a topic).
- Its not right to call someone immature or saying things like "grow up" or "shut up". Please don't make fun of a couple and say things like "that couple sucks". It leads to arguments.
- Posting messages in Caps does not change things.

I would say lets start all over again and lets not forget we all are friends. Don't take anything personally.

Well said. And we too hope that everyone get the message.

No use calling names. Criticisms can always be done but why through calling names. Please this is a request. Lets stop this now.

I completely agree. It is only natural for people to criticize the couples
they do not like. If you want to do so please do it in a civil fashion. Please
do not call couples names like cheaters or liars etc. Also if someone has
criticized your fav couple either take it in stride and if you cant please do
not reply or avoid the topic. There are plenty others who may like the
couple of your choice. I also think that under no circumstances should we
resort to calling each other names like dogs and fools. Also please realize
that if someone is expressing their opinion on a couple does not mean
that they are jealous. Another request that I have is please go through the
entire forum so that you avoid creating repeatative topics, it makes too
much of a mess on the forum. I love coming here to read varied opinions,
not to see forum members in a free for all name calling match
