ON: The SIM card controversy and his future on the show

How has been your experience so far in the show?
Approximately 15 million viewers watch the show every week and we are very grateful to them for their support. It's because of them that we are here. Everybody is aware of the extent of our improvement on the show. We have really worked very hard and have been receiving appreciation from our judges and our fans. We are still in the competition as a result of the effort and hard work that we put in and nobody can question or deny that.

Is this controversy of you purchasing SIM cards true?
We shared the SIM cards with our relatives and close friends who really wanted to vote for us. This is just a part of our campaign for votes. We don't think we have done anything wrong. We did not think that the SIM cards would get into the wrong hands and wonder how it happened at all.

Post this entire episode, comment on your future in the show?
This incident does not affect our practice and all the hard work and dedication we put into every performance. Our performance has been steadily improving and we have received good feedback from the judges and our audiences. The judges are extremely respectable professionals who know their job and this will not affect their decision. As for the audiences, they vote on the performance and the degree of empathy and support they feel for the contestants. People who genuinely watch the show with integrity will vote and the performances will speak for them selves. The show will go on!

Thanks for sharing.

Well, didn't Manav say he wouldn't ever stoop so low? Now he's admitting it. Is he confused?

Can the media stop with this so-called controversy? They're making a mountain out of a mole-hill!

Ok, it may not be that small..people have different views to what Manav-Shweta did.. but seriously, why ponder so much when the bottom line is that the sim cards they bought and distributed does not guarantee them votes! Who knows how many of them actually voted with the sim cards Shweta-Manav got them? 😕

Exactly Ektaj!!

I have a feeling the couple has spent more time practicing than they have sitting with each person they bought a sim-card for and ensuring that each gave 20 votes per sim-card.

And just think...the truly dedicated (and rich) fans of any of the couples could very well also be buying multiple sim-cards to vote.

Anyway.... while I appreciate all the articles, could we please put this issue aside. By repeatedly discussing we're only supporting the media's fervor.

You can't deny that the couple has been dancing well, so why fret over the 4,000 votes (max they could get from the 200 sim-cards) they have garnered when the rest of the general public is voting for all in tens of thousands...
