The couple couldn't hold back their tears while performing on a romantic number. It brought back the memories of days when their relationship had to face tough situations

Tanaaz Lall and Bakhtyaar Irani have always been seen as the funny couple in Star One's Nach Baliye 2. However, the couple's performance this week was anything but funny. The theme being romance the couple decided to dance on instrumental music rather than a song. And after the performance the couple couldn't hold back their tears. "People have always seen us laughing and cracking jokes, so when we got emotional after this performance everyone was very surprised," says Bakhtyaar.
Bakhtyaar adds that they didn't want to stick to the tried-and-tested formula of boy-meets-girl and hence they decided to do something different. "When we were performing, it brought back all the memories. People were sceptical about out relationship and no one took us seriously. They said it won't last long and it was just for fun," remembers Bakhtyaar.
He adds, "The memories came flooding back when we portrayed passion, one of the many aspects of love, through our dance."
Not only the audience, but the judges too were impressed. Bakhtyaar says, "That's always been my aim. I believe that if the judges love our performance the audience too will love it. They are after all experienced people. If Saroj Khan likes your dance, there's no way the audience is going to hate it. If you can get the judges to feel your emotions, you've won half the battle. And I am sure that even the audience is going to cry when they see the performance."
Bakhtyaar is happy that the judges loved this performance as much as their comedy act earlier.
The duo are all set to get married in November. But Bakhtyaar has no time to prepare for the wedding. "We have divided the work among us. I am handling the work for the competition, while Tanaaz is looking after the wedding preparations. I don't even know what I am going to wear. Everything has been decided on by Tanaaz," he says.
And despite the wedding the couple is hardly spending any time with each other. "I have been spending more time with my choreographer Mini than with Tanaaz. But we don't want to take our success for granted. Though we have performed well till now, I want to keep the momentum going," says Bakhtyaar.
Speaking about the recent SIM card controversy Bakhtyaar says, "All the couples are bound to campaign for themselves. But one thing is for sure the couple who are declared safe early on cannot be voting for themselves. It's simply impossible for an individual to send so many SMSes."
And is Bakhtyaar happy with the way they have been performing? "I am always trying to do better than the last performance. I am happy as long as the judges like my performance and the same holds true for Tanaaz. We are working very hard," he says.
With a wild card entry on the cards the duo will get some time off. "But I have already started planning my next dance performance. I love the excitement and the thrill that the show brings along. Also, I enjoy dancing so it's the perfect combination," says Bakhtyaar.
Looks like this couple is all set to make the audience laugh as well as cry just with their moves on the dance floor.
