Sumeet of Kumkum is too busy to give dates to the serial that made him a household name, if sources are to be believed. The actor who is garnering popularity votes in Nach Baliye and also hosting Shabash India is finding it difficult to dole out dates to the dialy soap. Consequently, the producers are changing the track of the story in such a way, Hussain will not be needed in forthcoming episodes.
According to the new storyline Sumeet is suffering from neuroblasfoma - a type of brain tumor and the doctor has given him another month or two of life. In this time he wants to finish all pending work and settle his children. He has left his business which is now taken care by his eldest son Dhruv (Vivan Bathena) and is trying to correct Sharman( Gaurav Khanna) who does not take life seriously. It may be recalled, earlier in the show Kumkum was married to Jatin( Anuj Saxena), Sumeet's elder brother who had an untimely demise. Ultimately to fulfill his Dadaji's wish of seeing Kumkum as suhagan again , Sumeet (Hussain) came forward to save the grace of the family. As per the latest track it seems fate has been unnecessary cruel to Kumkum and she is destined to be a widow once again. It remains to be seen how the family reacts when they hear about the misfortune that is waiting for Wadhwa family and whether Kumkum in absence of Sumeet can keep the family together.
Apart from the change in Hussain's track there also has been a number of new entries in the show. Besides Sonia who replaced Sayantani Ghosh and Mihir Mishra, another new entry is Megha Gupta , a relatively fresh face on TV who has been introduced opposite Sharman as Niti.
