So you lost your tooth during the practice session of Nach Baliye!
Actually this was not the first time that I lost my tooth. Four years back, I met with an accident and my four front teeth were crushed to powder. So the present set of front teeth of mine are false.
But when I lost my other tooth in the accident during practice, I was shattered. It was like reliving those moments. Apoorva saw me in so much pain and decided that we would leave the competition.
But what made you think that the audience will not accept you with a broken tooth?
Why would someone want to see a Kkusum or a Ganga with a broken tooth?
We are actors for the way we act and the way we look. And if one of these things are missing, it makes us incomplete. But as far as a dance competition is concerned, it does not matter because the audience is watching Shilpa in performance.
Saroj Khan gave you a nine for your performance...
She was being too kind. I feel we did not deserve a nine. But the lady knows what it takes for non dancers like us to come on stage and perform inspite of a tragedy.
Sarojji also came to my van to bless me and I was speechless and did not say a word to her. Maybe because I was in too much pain or overwhelmed.
You and Apoorva are among those couples who don't ask any and everybody to vote for you...
We are not like that, especially Apoorva. If we perform well and the audience likes us, they will vote. But our performance is done keeping the likes and dislikes of the audience and judges in mind.
Now that Kkusum has been shifted to the 7.30 time slot from primetime, what do you feel about it?
It does not make a difference to me. I'm here to make money and secure the future of my kids. I don't want to put all the pressure on Apoorva. Working for Balaji is good enough and the time slot makes no difference.
