Star One's new programme, Nach Baliye is one of its kind to hit the television screen, where you can watch your favourite television stars shake a leg with their real life partners and all for a good cause. Our reporter, who will be giving you exclusive updates for the next 10 weeks, gives us a first person account of her experience on the sets of the show.
My nervousness was easily palpable as I reached the sets way before time. I watched the stars emerge out of their luxurious cars and go scudding into their vanity vans. As I trudged along to take a look at the set, I was amazed to see the large and vibrant stage all ready to welcome the star couples.
My interaction with the choreographers gave me a great deal of information about the process of preparation undergone by the star couples. But the best was yet to come, a tte--tte with the participants.
I started my rendezvous with the effervescent Sachin and Supriya. The talented duo amazed me with their down-to-earth nature. The couples seemed to have set apart the preconceived notion of celebrities being snooty. Manini and Mihir Mishra are an exemplification of this.
Things could only get better with Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh adding that bit of drollery to the conversation. However, on the other hand, there was Shilpa and Apurva Agnihotri who with some scintillating talks managed to seek a balance.
What was worth taking a note of is that in spite of the competition being only an hour away, the blemishes of nervousness were nowhere to be seen. Neeru and Amit appeared absolutely at ease while they waited for the call to hit the dance floor.
Having completed my interviews with the remaining contestants, I got myself a place among the audience to watch the couples put their act together. There was a thunderous applause as the hosts Sangita Ghosh and Shabbir stepped on stage
The temperature in the studio seemed to be rising as the contestants performed to the sensuous themes with a load of oomph. Every performance was captivating.
The contestants looked fabulous, clad in eye-catching outfits designed by Anna Singh. With the audience cheering for their favourite contestants, the mood in the studio was completely upbeat.
My experience on the sets of Nach Baliye was overwhelming. Foot tapping music, cheering crowd and brilliant performances and a vibrant setup only made my heart say, "Nach Baliye."
